  1. Can someone name 10 c64 games that can not be made on atari ?

    Radar Rat Race.

    Back to Nature

    Avenger invaders

    Lemans

    Super Blitz

    Chopper Math

    Frog Master

    Maggotmania

    Omega Race

    Sky Travel

    - I think you will find C= had exclusive rights to publish these games. They could not be made for Atari.

I'll be taking my cool shades back now. Not sure how you got them to begin with...

I think you'll find that they are just games made by Commodore (taken from Arcade titles, eg Omega Race, which was on VCS anway, or Back to Nature, a re-named Frogs and Flies or Frog Pond title) to publish 'only' for the C64, a bit like Atari published some titles only for A8 or the Atari family, eg Final Legacy, Caverns of Mars, Eastern Front, Tiger Attack, Thunderfox etc.

    Shades off.

  2. There are many Atari fans who recognize that the 64 has strengths that the A8 does not

Tobad none of them participate here.

I will say though I have slammed C64 on many occasions that there is some great software on the platform. For me the platform just doesnt hold my interest. The C64 story is to me dull and boring. Never cared for the hardware.

I know.. subjective but Atari is where my interest is.

I could go on and on from a user standpoint about what I don't like about commodore but that is why I am on an atari site reading, learning and buying Atari items.

It is interesting that there is some carry over between the 2 platforms that people here share and new ideas as well for continued fun on each machine. When it goes like that it is fun. Would be nice to see some great c64 programmers looking for a new challege to write some Atari stuff. Don't care who writes it, just want to play it!

I'm a C64 user actually, I just love how you can wind the the C64 users; they're getting in a hot bother so easy about their beloved 'gaming machine', especially the Germans.

  3. Other, no flickering images on Atari with plenty of colors:

    dlipic06.png midhurst.png

    phoenix.png underground.png

Captures directly from emulator, no PAL or NTSC emulations, just the colors as the bitmap shows. No flickering.

    Allas 10 Barnacle Boy 0

    Atari's a winner baby!

  4. is it better to have 4 bicycles or 3 cars? 4 is better because its more! come one! :)

Exactly, best selling computer does NOT mean better computer, finally you understand. Took you long enough.

indeed not. it was both better and cheaper.

Cheaper yes, better, not by a long shot.

    Wolfram: 100 frenchmen: 0

    c64 wins again.

C64 hasn't won a first time yet, therefore: Void

  6. Obviously a troll who doesn't read anything other than fanboy Atari posts and skips the rest. The C64 may have been $599 not $799 and the reason why is...dun dun dahhhh....Commodore OWNED MOS Technologies,

Well, obviously that'll be you then (a troll that is) as I mentioned that ...dun dun dahhhh....Commodore purchased MOS after it went bust quite some posts ago. I know it's sunday, but wake up man.

  7. If millions of people follow a certain leader, does this mean that this leader is good? History has proven the opposit.

As I posted previously, there is no other way for him, being German, HE HAS TO BE RIGHT, even if it's the wrong decision.

  8. So now we're comparing the cheapened cost reduced Atari, the 65XE, that came out 3 years later to the C64.

    One of my "favorite" quotes...

"Flight Simulator needs computer power. Only the XE has it". Hahahahahahaha

  9. You probably are. Gay and unskilled. Gay would be fine...

Well, thank you, and it takes one to know one....unskilled that is, and we established that you are quite some posts back already.

"takes one to know one" is kinda cheap.

Like a C64 perhaps? They seem to thrive on 'cheap'.

  11. You're right. But this fact seem to be a handycap on vertical scrolling games. Well, even when using a Super CPU, always h-scroller games show the "power" of the C64' chipset.

Better than no A8 game showing the "power" of the A8 chipset.

Frohn sentence clearly states he knows absolutely NOTHING. Go an play with your monkey. As for my wife? How do you know I'm not a gay person?

  12. Fröhn said "None of that games is "kick ass" in my eyes. You guys are all blinded by 20++ years of anti-commodore propaganda. And you guys are completely unskilled crap people too. please die now."

What an absolute a**hole you are sir!

Aside from the ignorant and childlike insult to the message board. The fact is that those games ARE milestones in games development, the fact you cannot percieve that is quite illuminating. Unlike "another scrolling clone of a Nintendo game" which (although I like those games personally ;) ), did not move the art forward one step - games the C64 catalog is filled with.

Let's face it, a pale imitation of Gradius, Super Mario or R-type is just that - forgotten and a side note in the history of the games world. Sure there are great games like Last Ninja, Manic Mansion that originated on the C64, and I take nothing from the platform, those games ROCKED. BUT they are no better or worse than those milestone games on the A8 - Mule, Archon, Star Raiders, ROF etc...

Learn to live in peace with the diversity, not attack it!

And yes I do take personal insult from your idiotic attack on people here - I am neither ignorant or unskilled, I suspect more people have played my games than have ever seen anything you have produced, and I suspect my perspective on games and platforms is broader and more informed than most - having been making them for over 20 years on all platforms (yes including Commodore ones) - please go away you ignorant little myopic person...

    sTeVE

    Conclusion:

    Jetboot Jack 10 Frohn 0

    Atari 8-bit line wins (AGAIN).

  13. In the Bridge instructions they mention a 'How your partner bids in Bridge by Activision' booklet enclosed with this cartridge. Anyone's got that manual, as I cannot find it in AA database.

    Thanks
