  1. one would assume u laughed your asses off until the 64 sales went stratospheric, all the games coders jumped ship and the atari sank without trace? must have been one hell of a year for u. a real hoot. what did u do after 1985? did it involve asking "do u want fries with that?" Steve You know I'm still laughing my ARSE off how in the UK, the awful Spectrum, which wasn't even considered a computer outside UK, outsold the C64 by 3 -1 yeah incredible isnt it? all those good games it had must have made the difference. mind u if your figures are correct and it outsold the the 64 in the UK by 3:1 and the uk market was one of the bigger 64 markets. makes u wonder how many times it outsold the atari by then doesnt it? about 10:1? maybe? who knows coz atari never publish their sales figures apparently. suspicious that, to someone working in the advertising industry. Steve UK was never known for having 'good taste'

  3. you are so right. Nice to see you're wising up I am the wisest here already (BTW when I do that it's witty, when you do it, it's not)
  4. Here's Glider Rider (1986) for C64 from top UK software house Quicksilva Man, those UK software houses produced 90% of graphical shit on C64 (As I said before, Thalamus, Level 9, System 3, Hewson, Rainbird, but that was it concerning competent UK software houses working on C64)
  5. That was so nice of Barnacle Boy I had to put up this dedication again. Added some nice powerful Atari fuji symbols
  6. No don’t be like that. It’s excellent, me and ATARI, the 10000s post, what could be better. Barnacle Boy I am truly honored, it is a great privilege for me to be the participant of the 10000s post. And,Barnacle Boy I truly know that you do not discriminate against someone else's appearance, so that makes it double special. Many grateful kisses from me to you, and long may ATARI lead (as in cheerleader) 10000 post....ATARI 8-bit RULES.....10000 post
  7. Woah ! It's so bullshit you are so right.
  8. Whilst others use the same emotions over and over and over.....etc. Difficult to cure, some even say beyond help. anyway, fixed...professional, me
  9. Some doctors visit Atari forums. And some Ataris visit doctors.. "Doctor doctor, I want to be a C64 when I grow up" Doctor replies 'why become a BMW 3 series when you are already a Porsche'.
  10. Some patients constantly repeat the same phrase or sentence. Establishing a definitive diagnosis can be very difficult as patients can appear normal. Whilst others use the same emotions over and over and over.....etc. Difficult to cure. Failure to quote properly is punishable by a life sentence of Aquarius use.. well, don't do it again you have been warned (anyway, fixed, I'm only little you know)

  12. Yes, I know that there are some really unknowledgeable people working for that mag And you have no idea if i'm "really unknowledgeable", Well judging by some of your replies so far..... but if you are one of the few knowledgeable contributors to RG, glad to hear it. Well, if TMR is "unknowledgeable", then frenchman got lost somewhere in the way between the stage of embryo and suckling. ...and outsmarts you by a long shot Yeaaah, teach me again about "digitalize" ROTFL If you still have trouble spelling, can't help you man. Blame it on the dictionary or your illiteracy. LOL http://www.thefreedictionary.com/digitalize If you still have trouble spelling, can't help you man.
  13. And you have no idea if i'm "really unknowledgeable", Well judging by some of your replies so far..... Ah, so you feel that because i dared to disagree with you that makes me "really unknowledgeable"... not much ego going on there, then. Not just those unknowledgeable replies you gave me, but in general, towards others. As for my ego, I know, isn't it swell? seems fine to me! Many thanks

  15. actually, wasn't A8 Gauntlet written by Gremlin, UK?

  19. Yes, I know that there are some really unknowledgeable people working for that mag, incl. the awful Stuart Campbell, who never does any research (the Neo Geo blunder was pretty bad, here's a DP posting from a member: ".......I was pretty sickened by the crap Stuart Campbell pulled over at Neo-Geo.com a few months back. Basically he was called on some errors in an article he wrote, but instead admitting to it or entitling everyone to their own opinions he created this giant ego driven mess, registered multiple accounts to defend himself with against the infamous neo-geo.com slaughter house, and never once attempted to save any face. It's the only time I've seen a 40 year old man devolve into a 10 year old boy. You could make a top 50 list he said so many stupid things there, telling your readers to "die in chemical fires" sticks out for me though."
  20. I could be wrong here but LB lived in Texas during his programming career and might have grown up there - He is technically English but I wouldnt count him as a born and bred UK developer who started Origin for US games. Well he wasn't. He only started coding in US. Still British though.
  21. Actually Retro Gamer had a feature on UK/USA comparisons where the (same) games were develeoped by two different companies. It's a UK magazine btw. I still prefer the Activision (USA) version of Aliens than the Electric Dreams (UK) version. As for Bionic Commando, only played it on NES, so I cannot compare UK/US versions of the C64 game. Also, many UK coders already programmed for US software houses during the 80s or even founded them, ever heard of Lord British?
  22. Because.....there was no European Apple 2 market (think vastly overpriced like in US and triple that for Europe). As you can see the most C64ers jealous of the A8 here are from the UK, tape users. I mean, Apple 2 users wouldn't be seen dead using a....cassette...you gotta be kidding. But there you have it, in UK it was Spectrum + tape, C64 + tape, some fdd, Amstrad + tape....in Germany they had C64 + fdd, A8 + fdd, Schneider....and France had their own Thompson computers, and that was that, sorry no Apple 2 popularity in Europe.
  23. You know, I am using a C128 since 1987, sometimes I also used an Apple 2, but get one (C64 or 128), try it out, there's some real classics to be found within the US software range. Stay away from UK softs as boredom sets in quite quickly after a few minutes with those games. Exceptions are softs from Thalamus, System 3, Hewson, Level 9, Rainbird, but that's it really. But try some US classics, Starflight, Zak McKracken, Alter Ego, Space Rogue, LCP, Times of Lore, Bards Tale III....etc. Huge list of classics
