  1. Emkay, I must admit that, it is your another post and you are speaking rationally (rarity among atarians here) Even more a rarity amongst C64 users (They're still miffed that the Spectrum outsold the C64 by 3 - 1 in UK).
  2. Actually, there's no need for name calling. That makes no sense...?! If it's done on the C64 and nobody can produce a working example on the A8, that's proven the point. I'm sorry I didn't know my answer was too difficult for you to comprehend. It does make perfect sense. If it's done on the C64, who says it cannot be done on A8, only because nobody has done so. You sound like the person from way back who said: This cannot be done on the VCS, get away. David Crane replied: I've just done it (That's a quote from Retro Gamer magazine). Proves I'm right.
  3. Because Oswald was a loser. He was just rambling on how good his C64 is and how it can do all the things the A8 cannot do, but he couldnt prove any of this. You cannot claim the A8 cant do what the C64 can without proving so. YOU have to provide prove.
  4. TOTALLY MAJOR: Magnavox Odyssey (paved the way for all others to follow)
  5. Actually, also on that website you'll find a Commodore 'Atari style' joystick (see the Commodore logo), as you can see, the firebutton should be red.
  6. You might want to use the official C64 paddle colours: http://www.zimmers.net/cbmpics/jjoysticks2.html Sorry I couldn't find a better picture
  7. Wow, plenty: Snoopy and the Red Baron has an excellent 'pause' mode soundtrack, eg drumming Pitfall 2, world famous music Frogger and Frogger 2 Threeedeep have music Pressure Cooker Moon Patrol ET title music Strawberry Shortcake Musical Match-ups Drumming (sort of) in Jungle Hunt Gyruss famous Bach music throughout Mountain Man Grieg music Rabbit Transit
  8. No to forget Sente (not a lot of people know this): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sente_Games
  9. All of them really, and without the awful fogging (On the other hand, Japan coders (if they'd support Jaguar back then) were never really experts when it comes to programming Western consoles. They were lousy actually, until XBox came along).
  10. I got 10 so far, and still need 10 for completion. (20 official released titles right?) I also have Frogger II:Threeedeep and Strawberry Shortcake carts only, but I don't include unboxed titles in my collection until I get a box, or the game as a whole. Also, two more protos, if people care about protos: Care Bears and McDonalds
  11. Gorf: Faithful to the arcade, by far the best Jaguar game
  12. This analogy falls over on one very obvious point; in the discussions here when Person A says "this game is easy to do on the C64 but hard on the Atari 8-bit" or whatever, there's no Person B taking David Crane's role and actually proving them wrong, including yourself. Perhaps Person A should take David Crane's role then, or otherwise how does he know...."this game is easy to do on the C64 but hard on the Atari 8-bit". He must do it first to come to this conclusion, otherwise he's just assuming.
  13. They are not real coders, real coders are like David Crane, breaking new ground where others (like Jay Miner) say 'I didn't know you can do that on the VCS'. Coders don't go around saying...Yes I can do that on the supposedly superior C64 but it cannot be done on the A8 without trying.
  14. Tramiel's did right the the ST though. The ST did very well in UK, Germany and France, even when the A500 came along.
  15. Star Raiders (A8), neither can beat Star Raiders.
  16. I had a NUFLI once, it was great fun!
  17. Well, sometimes...of course there's only one at the moment: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PHILIPS-CM8833-MONIT...id=p3286.c0.m14 but a Commodore 1084 is good too, maybe you find one of those
  18. Thanks for the info again. I sent a PM to the seller who was happy to send it to me and it has arrived. All I need to do now is find a working 8833 or a Commodore Monitor somewhere.... Glad to help, a Philips 8833 are a plentyful on ebay UK, so you shouldn't have any problems.
  19. on Digital Press, under Interviews, see Mythicon's Bruce de Graaf and read the interview.
  20. You're always going on about Atari 8 bit and C64 competing. The competition of the Atari 800 was Apple ][, not C64. In UK the comtetition of C64 was Spectrum 48K, and Spectrum won. Atari 8-bit came under 'bubbling under' (Although it was the second most successful import computer in UK)
  21. So you gonna be pedantic as a frenchman, if Classic Gaming is wrong, you have to stick it under the section 'Programming', please. Anyway, doesn't matter, Oswald was the guy involved in the A8 vs C64 thread, and he always got it wrong, I remember now.
