  1. RetroFan, thanks for the update. I've been waiting for the 2600 core for the MCC-216 VGA. Great work on the upgrades for both the Atari and C64.
  2. It should work as long as you are using atenna in. Did you tune you channel to 2, 3, or 4 on the TV? That is how I hook up my un-modded Atari consoles.
  3. You can test the save function with BC Quest for Tire. If you load the game and press F12 you see the disc menu coming up. Now press (H)ighscore and Reset yes. You will see the DISC image going into reverse image. After wards press the menu button on the keyboard (one between ALT right key and the right CTRL key). You see the disc goes back to normal. Reset the MCC and start the BC Quest for tire normal. Press Highscore and if you asked for Reset hit N for no. You see an empty high score list. Now play the game and enter your name in the empty high score. Press F12 and the Disc:x text get inverse. WAIT until all sectors completely written to the 1541 drive (RAM). After wards press the menu button on the keyboard (one between ALT right key and the right CTRL key). You see the disc goes back to normal. Reset the MCC and start the BC Quest for tire normal. Press Highscore and if you asked for Reset hit N for no. You see your name in the high score list. Hope that helped ! Thanks
  4. please keep us updated on your success with the read/write support! That was the one feature lacking that held me back. The save feature seems buggy at the moment.
  5. We updated the web page and the 404 error is fixed now. You can download the release note and this has the instruction. Anyhow you figured it out on your own. We are in the final touches for the ATARI 2600 core. We discovered some issues we like to fix before we launch it officially. However it shouldn't be long now. Let's see if we can have an additional Christmas gift under the tree. Really, I'm still getting error 404 when trying to down load the Menu file. Tried IE and FireFox. Even dumped cache.
  6. you just want to solder to the juction, where R67 and R68 MEET, you should NOT solder a bridge across the holes vacated by the resistors. I see thanks for clearing that up. I since moved from R67-R68 to R45 and the video seem much better but not perfect.
  7. When disconnected the B&W looks fine to me. It looks like your chroma signal might actually be composite video or you've got luma leaking in from somewhere. Try putting the chroma signal on the luma pin and see if it generates a picture. If it does, then you've got composite on that pin. If it doesn't, then the chroma is only partially mixed with luma. Ok I if I understood you correctly I took what I think to be my chroma signal and touched it to pin 1 (Composite Luminance) and got a very poor color display. I'm picking up my chroma from R67-R68.
  8. What has been done so far: From the UltraVideo XL 1.0.pdf disconnected the RF modulator by de-soldering the four wires which connect it to the Atari main board. removed all components linking the luma and chroma signals. I took no chances and whipped out R56, C54, C55, R67 and R68 Step 3. incomplete I only had one 75 ohm resistor so R53 was replaced R66 still original. R116 not replaced I don't have 2.2 ohm resistor From Super Video 2.1XL Only thing I did was step 7 install the chrominance pick-off resistor. Select a 100-ohm resistor (brown-black-brown-gold) Solder the short end of the prepared resistor to the junction of R67-R68 on the foil side of the board. Solder the other end to pin 5 of the monitor jack This last step I may have misunderstood, I soldered across both holes for R67-R68.
  9. When disconnected the B&W looks fine to me.
  10. What would cause green tinge and blue shadows in my NTSC Atari 800XL S-Video? On the right side of the screen I can see a green stripe going from the top to the bottom of the screen not visible in photo. I bought the S-Video cable on eBay that has the resistor built in, works great on my 65XE. I started following the Super Video 2.1XL and Jon Halliday's Ultra Video XL 1.0.pdf but had to hold off on completing the mod until I can order some parts that my local Radio Shack doesn't stock. Just curious what may be causing the green tinge and blue shadows in the video?
  11. Thanks very much for your comments. Glad you like the two games. --Ken Don't suppose you have a spare one with the upgraded sound? What version of beef drop supports pokey? When I get home from travel I want to check my cart to see if it has pokey. How can I tell? Thanks. If you have one of the hand numbered, early versions, then it has a pokey chip. And I believe the new ones without pokey are labeled "Beef Drop VE" on the cart. Just got home and checked my version of Beef Drop is VE. Glad to hear it will play pokey via the expansion module.

  13. Yes we will continue the support for other systems. What's next isn't fully decided today. I guess we will run a vote in the community to see what they would like to see next. Thanks, I really feel my money was well spent.
  14. Are you looking for this? US core default NTSC V 1.05 http://www.mcc-home.com/3.html Boots up in NTSC mode.
  15. Faxing with VOIP can be hit and miss. Here are a few things you can try. Set the baud rate to the lowest setting 9600 or lower. Not all fax machines will let you adjust baud rate. If your fax machine has a setting to fax overseas try turning it on. Google Faxing over VOIP there are lots of tips.
  16. Ax, have you tried your MJ on other networks also are you trying to use over wifi? Also have you tried the air card 3g setting?
  17. I bought two one for myself and one for my GF for when we travel. We are both very happy with them works well with hotel internet most of the time we just plug the hotel phone in the magic jack that is connected to laptop. If I didn't already have Trixbox VOIP setup in my home I would set my Magic Jack up like the guy did in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K7JxxtdAkc
