  1. Hi, I'm looking for a list of some of the better WWII games (ground, air, or sea) for the PS2. I've already got MOH:Frontline, and will eventually pick up the newer one for the Pacific. I also know about Secret Weapons over Normandy, and will eventually pic that one up as well. Any other games (older or more current) that have WWII themes worth picking up? All I'm interested in is game for the PS2 (or PS1 I suppose), while I'm sure other systems have great games as well, this is the only system I own or plan to own for the next several years. Thanks Tony
  2. I bought Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper, & ICO. All were good choices, obviously Jak/Sly are more what I originally asked for, but ICO looks like it will be a great game. Best of all (of course) all were very cheap as they're older games. Thanks again for the help
  3. This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks very much. Tony
  4. Hi, I'm wondering if there are any cartoonishly fun game for the PS2 (or PS1) that are similar to Mario or Sonic games. I'm not interested in buying another system for such a game, so if one does not exist that's fine. I definitely don't want to get into the "which game system is better than the others" fight that dominates so many of these threads. So if you know of games for the PS2 that are like the Mario/Sonic games, I'd be interested in hearing about them. Thanks much Tony
  5. Thanks, I'm using a version I downloaded on Holmes (when it was still up & running), perhaps it's to blame.
  6. Hi, I've been trying to get back into BCW, but every time I start the game I'm in a seemingly exitless room with two dead guards. I played both this & the original a lot when I was a kid but have not touched them since. I know the basic commands (holstering/unholstering gun, firing the gun [who thought the start button was a good idea for that?], searching guards via space bar) but can't figure this out from the room I seem to be trapped in. All the online docs I've found are for Apple or C64, which had different commads. I've not seen anything that discusses this first room. My guess is that one of the drawings on the screen is an area I must exit from, but I've had no luck. Anybody know how to get out or what I should be looking for? Thanks Tony
  7. Anybody have the officer's Manual for Star Fleet I by Interstel? The PC/DOS manual is available on http://www.the-underdogs.org/ but when I try using those codes it doesn't work. I seem to recall there was a chart a while back such that you didn't need the manual for the codes. That's really all I need if anyone has that. Thanks much Tony
  8. I've got an 800xl, 65xe, & 130xe set up at my house. I'd love to test one, but if not I'm probably in to purchase one as well. I play the game all the time, on my 65xe usually (my original atari). I play often at work on the EMU as well.
  9. Once again, looking for general instructions for a game... This time, Cycle Knight. Unfortunately the website I used to use for Atari 8 Bit game docs (http://www.crestviewfl.com/~richard/atari-docs.htm) is no more... Anyway, I used to play Cycle Knight as a kid on my 65XE, but never got very far (I think the 3rd or 4th chamber was as far as I made it). The directions must have made it easier, I of course had a hacked version. I know how to get past the first few guys via trial & error, but real game docs would be a plus if anyone has them, or general hints/help appreciated. As always, thanks much Tony
  10. Ah, so it's the speed that regulates going over different terrain... That ought to help quite a bit. Thanks
  11. Sorry to occasionally ask for game docs, but I came across the game Kik-Start for the 8bit and again remembered playing it a lot on my 65xe as a kid. Same as then though, I cannot quite figure out how to go over some of the terrain without your bike falling off (or really, having your bike fall of the track). I have a really hard time keeping the bike on the track, could just be that I suck at the game, but I thought perhaps the game docs would offer some insight. If you have them or know more about the game besides pushing the button to jump, up to do wheelies, and down to come down from wheelies, let me know. Thanks Tony
  12. Hi all, I've got a PS2 & a couple of games (Vice City, & all EA Sports games). I'm mostly into sports games, but I'm interested in getting a few non-sports games, so I'm looking for suggestions. I'd like some games along these lines: * A flight game, helicopter or WW2 would be preferred (prefer a sim to a side scroller). * Sniper game * Space/Mech Game * Strategy War Game like Advance (advanced?) Wars on the GBA ----------------------------------------- Anyway, as always help is appreciated. I'm sure there are great games that fit above for Xbox & Nintendo as well, but my system is a PS2 so that's what I'm interested in. Thanks Tony
  13. Oh, damn, don't I feel stupid. Never even thought about it having come out for one of the other Atari computers. Thanks
  14. Can anyone tell me the point/objective in Mountain King? I realize that as you grab the gold (?) it counts down to an eventual zero... And you can use your flashlight to view chests(?) and pulling down seems to open those & give you a glowing light around yourself. And there is some kind of large spider at the bottom, and then there is the crown surrounded by flames in the middle... Anyway, as you can see I just don't know much about what you're supposed to do. I played this back in the day (a hacked copy then too so I've never had instructions) and didn't know what I was doing then either. I ususally just played the game for the music. Any help appreciated. Thanks Tony
