Sounds interesting actually. Only in Japan... or from Bioware? Taste the rainbow. But seriously, the Shadow Hearts series was just plain fun. I mean, it was a bit odd, but engaging. A lot of JRPGS are just boring grind fests. I also really like the Fatal Frame series. I loved the first one and that type of game is hardly my normal fare.

I only have 2 and 3. I have been debating picking up the PS1 game that started the series.

I played and finished Pokemon Snap. For a rail shooter, it was surprisingly fun. Finding all the different Pokemon and taking photos of them, or finding ways to flush them out to take pictures was such a great mechanic. I rather enjoyed the Final Fantasy Legend games for Gameboy. The third one is the one I recall best. Likewise with the Zelda games for the GB, such as Link's Awakening. I played that game for a week straight til I finished it. I still have fond memories.

Years ago I bought a Genesis. I tried to do an Svideo mod an failed. So I modded it for composite and stereo. So dumb that they had a stereo headphone jack and output only mono through the AV cable.

I still regret not picking up a copy at gamestop a few years ago. They had it for like 25 bucks. I have the first two, but frankly, never got past the first one. Long winded and JRPGS are so annoying with the GRINDING.

Favorite PS2 title for me is Shin Megami Tensai - Persona 4. Hands down. Other titles I enjoyed were Rogue Galaxy and Steambot Chronicles. I have Shadows of Destiny. It wasn't a bad adventure game. The Suikoden games were fun. Great for people who like collecting stuff in games. Anyone a fan of the Shadow Hearts games? (Not to be confused with Kingdom Hearts)

I know the feeling on getting burned out on a hobby. Some of the crap you've dealt with from a few people here probably didn't help much. But seriously, thanks for sharing your stuff with the community. One of your games is the only homebrew I've ever bought. Your stuff rivals any of the official releases easily.

PS1 Croc: Legend of the Gobos - Complete Greatest Hits. Jewel case is pretty worn and manual is a bit scuffed. Disc has some significant scratching, but it still seemed to work all right in my Ps1 PS2 Namco Museum - Greatest Hits version - Case has minor shelf wear. Has manual, cover art and disc. Disc has some minor scuffing. Works great. - Sold Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits - Gamestop threw out the case. Damn jerks. So disc only. Definitely scuffed, but it seems to work fine. TurboGrafx16 Monster Lair - Sold PC Aliens Vs Predator 2 - In jewel case with cover art and code. Both discs are inside. Both have some scratches, but I was able to install and play the game extensively with no issue. Starfleet Command: Neutral Zone - Case with art inserts. Disc has minor scratches. Installs and plays fine. Journeyman Project Turbo - Disc Only. Very clean. No blemishes of any kind. Police Quest: Collection Series - The first release. Comes in Jewel case with case inserts on 5 discs. No manual. Discs have minor scuffing, but not enough to affect anything. Police Quest: Open Season - Jewel Case release. Still in original shrink wrap. Windows 8 Pro - Not for Resale version. Complete in original box and unopened in original factory shrinkwrap. (never used) The Sims - Original Retail box only. Just the outer box. I saved it in a box for some reason. In great shape. The Sims: Hot Date - Original Retail box only. Just the outer box. I saved it in a box for some reason. In great shape.

Looks like you did well enough on that auction! I love the cut down look of the thing. What did you replace the back with?

I have a two port I found at a goodwill. After modding the controllers, it has become my second favorite console of my collection. Has anyone considered doing a serial # list for the 5200? Might be interesting see see what revisions go where. The 7800 serial #list is interesting in thar regard.

I own over 1000 games... physical copies. I'll never play them all. That said, everything I own has been played at least once... if not many to completion.

Does that include licencing revenue? Because that's where consoles make money, rather than on hardware. That's a reason Nintendo has had some isdues. They have a harder time with the wii u in getting third party support. Meaning less revenue from licencing.

Interesting question. Cost is holding me back on the current gen, but like others, I've seen little on this Gen that interests me. I suppose that if Persona 5 is new gen exclusive, I may buy one. But that's really the only game that has my attention. Oddly enough, I had a couple years where I played consoles exclusively. Lately, I've slid back to PC. I feel like with steam and other platforms, PC gaming has been undergoing a revival... especially with all those wonderful indy developers.

Great topic. For me, any sort of management game, be it Civilization, Master of Orion, Sim City, Roller Coaster Tycoon, the Total War games, etc. Those suck me in fairly well, though not like the used to. Also the elder scrolls games. Morrow wind really caught my attention as did Skyrim. Oblivion less so. But Morrowin really was like crack.

Haha. Oddly enough, I got some games that way. I gave my N64 to my brother in the early 2000s when I was in college. He took it to boarding school with him. He gave it back to me when I got into collecting. Somehow my collection of games gained Goldeneye, Mariokart, Mario Party and Perfect Dark as well as two extra controllers. I told him about it and he said he had no idea who they belonged to because so many people came to his room in the dorms, so... they become mine. I did try to do the right thing. Promise!

I went to a boarding school overseas from where my parents were. For four years I collected a bunch of computer games and such. When I graduated, I asked my Dad to bring a Van to pick up me and my stuff. He brought a compact car. So I threw away all my boxes for almost everything because of lack of space. I regret that a lot because I had some PC games that are now very collectible. Same goes with my Gameboy stuff. I also regret not Keeping my Zelda: Ocarina of time stuff. I bought the collector's edition and had all the extras including the T-shirt. All I have now is the game and the strategy guide. I really really regret that. It wasn't until I started collecting video games that I started keeping everything. I also regret selling my Turbografx 16 when I got married. I got it into my head that I needed to downsize my game collection before I got married. My video game disinterested wife ended up being more supportive of my hobby than I expected. So, it's a shame I got rid of it.

To get it open, you have to pull off the white disc (it pulls off, trust me) and then remove that metal lock washer hiding below it. It holds the joystick assembly together and keeps the stick from sliding out of the base (maybe that is the shiny metal thing you mention). Inside the Grey box is where the rubber gasket is. I don't blame you for not wanting to open it. The only reason I did was because it was broken. The stick was loose and wouldn't recenter. Originally, the square metal ring and metal tube you see in the video were all cemented together with a flexible rubber. With use and age making the rubber brittle, the center tube broke away from the rest of the rubber. The rubber washers I used are cut to fit into the octagonal shspe of the grey box to keep them in place. The metal tube is thus kept in the the center. It works and the feel is better than it was, but not nearly as tight as the original. I wonder if on could use some sort of Silicon caulk or something to recreate the original rubber assembly. I may have to try that if I can figure out a good way. I wish I had a picture of what it looked like before I removed all the rubber. If you like I can do a teardown video for you to show you how it goes together.

Friend and I used to play Contra 2-player. We didn't know about the Konami code, so eventually got good enough we could beat the game without using continues. We were NOT good enough to play it without dying once, or playing that way it single player!

I have never cared so much about manuals. With CD/DVD games though, I sort of do require a case. And PS1 or DC games won't be bought without the manual. For ps2 or later, I don't care nearly as much.

I always found the Space Quest series on computer to be highly amusing. The Worms series was quite funny when it first came out. I still remember laughing as a teen at the exploding sheep. I think it's easier nowadays to make a funny game because of all the narrative tools available now that might not have been available before the advent of 3D.
