New Atari Jaguar unboxing! Impressions, pictures, etc...
courtesi96 replied to texit's topic in Atari Jaguar
Obviously in a perfect world every Jaguar owner would have a Pro-Controller; but given that they are so expensive (I'd really like to know how many were produced) some of us may have to "settle" for a standard pad. So is it safe to say that other than the overlay issue on the "G" that it is the superior made pad? The connection issue could probably be fixed with an extension cable and tape. Best Electronics in Canada was heavily pushing the "B" model to me saying that it's super to the "G" because the "G" is "mushy." -
Iron Soldier 2 at it's best! RGB&surround sound!
courtesi96 replied to Gunstar's topic in Atari Jaguar
Resurrecting an old thread. Regarding IS2 I have two questions: 1.) As stated before there is pro-controller support. Does this completely eliminate any need to use the keypad? 2.) Absolutely everything seems improved in IS2; is their any need to own the original? In other words, does the first Iron Soldier do anything better than the sequel? The only thing I can think of is maybe some of the missions may be better (I don't know) and that unless you own a CDROM you won't hear the sound track on the second (probably wouldn't matter to me because I think I'd like the more Sim feel of no music.) Thank for taking the time to read my post. -
I'm tossing around the idea of getting the Jaguar. I've severely stripped down my videogame collection; I'm only going to buy games that 1) I am going to play and 2) ones that are very likely never going to be perfect or functional on emulators; this auction was a complete impulse buy. But like any good person would do I paid for what I won. As far as the Jaguar is concerned I'm only interested in Protector/Protector: SE. I'm not even interested in Tempest 2000 - blasphemy I tell you!

I won this auction on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270781950274 I'm having second thoughts and would like to sell the game for what I won it at ($54.99) I'll need to add $2 if you want to pay by pay pal. Otherwise money order or cashiers check is also accepted. I also live in the Chicagoland area and we can meet in a public place if that's easier for you. I don't have the game yet but it is on its way to me. I don't have a Jaguar (yet) but based on sellers feedback I would believe it to be working correctly and good condition (see link for details.) I will post a "bump" when it's in my hands but for now if anyone wants to get in line I will hold it for you. I'm just looking to get exactly the same amount of money back, no less, no more.

I can't stand the standard controller and finding pro-controllers is extremely difficult. I was curious if anyone had a "base" started schematic for building an Atari Jaguar joystick from parts? Or perhaps even better a Y connector that lets you connect the controller to one port, and then use another consoles joystick to play with? Most of the games I'd be playing wouldn't make heavy use of the key pad anyway.

1. NBA Jam Tournament Edition (not arcade perfect, but the best console port available) 2. Iron Soldier 2 (cartridge edition) 3. Rayman 4. Iron Soldier 5. Towers 2

First off, I do believe playing games on real equipment when possible. That said, I emulate most of the 5200 games because I've had a really bad history with the consoles and controllers. I don't have the time to fix/repair consoles - I just want it to work. I probably wouldn't be typing this message had a port of Adventure 2 existed for the Atari 800. Given that there is not, I have no problem with spending $40 to buy a new copy physical copy of Adventure 2. But then how do I dump it to play it on an emulator? (Even better: Is there a hack to play this on an Atari 8 bit computer?) If instructions are given I swear not to upload the ROM to the internet - this is for personal/private use. I hope my message has not offended anyone. I'm not really hardcore into emulation - just for a few specific instances like this. To the author of Adventure 2 if you are reading: Any possibility you can port this to an Atari 800/130XE? Much obliged!

How did these compare? How does the 7800 port compare to the computer ports?

Is this game as fun as say... Fifa 95 or ISS Deluxe on the Mega Drive?

Reintroducing... NetBSD on Atari (TT, Falcon, etc.)

I'm not trying to flame anyone. But seriously, what would you do with a TT/Falcon running BSD? I'm more curious than trying to insult anyone. -
N00b needs help: Looking for Rayman + Pro-Controllers
courtesi96 replied to courtesi96's topic in Atari Jaguar
You can try GoAtari for the Pro Controller if he is still responding to emails. I bought one from him earlier this year for $50. I left a couple messages for the guy at GoAtari and he has not replied to any of them yet. Yes, you are not the first one to report that - sad, since that was a good store once. BTW, there is this copy of Rayman on eBay Germany, yet the seller only ships to Germany. Shall I try and place a bid for you? I accept PayPal (if you cover for their fee) and will ship it as registered air mail, which will cost EUR 6.55. Thorsten No thank you Thorsten. I am going to observe ebay for the next few months. I intend on going to the Midwest Gaming Classic in Wisconsin, USA and hope a copy will be there for sale. -

N00b needs help: Looking for Rayman + Pro-Controllers
courtesi96 replied to courtesi96's topic in Atari Jaguar
Thanks for the information! That Swedish copy is still going for $132 on ebay. That's a little rich for my blood unfortunately :-( I'm thinking with solid grade A references I could afford $50-$70 tops for a minty fresh condition copy. How much can I expect to pay for a Pro Controller? I tried all the above links and they are fresh out. -
N00b needs help: Looking for Rayman + Pro-Controllers
courtesi96 replied to courtesi96's topic in Atari Jaguar
yes Rayman is on ebay in a couple of Auctions. However either it is a PAL region copy or a copy that is not in great shape / described as "Acceptable". I'm a bit anal like that I guess.. -
I'd post this in the marketplace but I don't have any feedback (ie: street cred). I've been looking for some Jaguar ProControllers and a decent copy of Rayman but to no avail. I've checked several online retailers with no luck. Is there anyone who can help?
