  1. $35 or so for PS2 shells.... but they weren't standard black, and it would be a waste of effort to paint them.
  2. Case in point, you could be "popular webcomic" yourself. What you lack in cryptic presentation you more than make up for with you complete lack of personality.
  3. Worse than that. If system 1 is sending data to system 2, system 3 cannot send anything to either of them without screwing the flow up. Hubs don't do full duplex very well. They're fine if you have a shit-cluster of computers, but absolutely terrible if you use a network like they should be used. You know, for the storage and transport of large amounts of data?
  4. Yes, because deletion makes too much sense, am I right?
  5. Hahaha, whatever, it's because Sega has never had anybody with an ounce of sense working for them outside of Japan.
  6. Shit, they released Mars in the US at the same time as Saturn in Japan. If that doesn't smack of fucking stupid, I don't know what does. Huh? Imagine if Nintendo had released the Virtual Boy in the US at the same time the N64 had been released in Japan.
  7. Well, I've never played anything via a console online... But here's what I know. My network is set up poor-man style. I use a hub, because the damn thing only costed $10 new. I have several PCs connected to the hub, and I manually configured them for internet connection sharing. I hooked my brother's XBox up to the hub, the hub saw it. I don't remember if the hub saw my GCN though... anyway, I configured the XB manually to fit into my setup, and "connected" to XBL. The system downloaded the anti-linux-loader patch, and that was it. No XBL account, so I couldn't do anything else. I dunno how a passively connected console would work online... P2P programs hate passive connections. Anyway, here's my current network setup. GODMARS (P4 2.6GHz, Win2K, about 400MB) NIC1: Connected directly to the cable modem Connection set to be shared by the network. NIC2: Connected to the hub IP: 192.168.0.1 SNM: 255.255.255.0 COLT (P3 450MHz, Win2K, about 400MB) NIC: Connected to the hub IP: 192.168.0.4 SNM: 255.255.255.0 GW: 192.168.0.1 DNS: 192.168.0.1 ANUBIS (PMMX 200MHz, WinME, 64MB) NIC: Connected to the hub IP: 192.168.0.2 SNM: 255.255.255.0 GW: 192.168.0.1 DNS: 192.168.0.1 XBOX NIC: Connected to the hub IP: 192.168.0.10 SNM: 255.255.255.0 GW: 192.168.0.1 DNS: 192.168.0.1 So everything on the network has internet access. Like I said, though, I don't know if you have to be directly connected to play games. A hub is BAD BAD BAD for networking. A router is best, but I have no experience in setting them up, configuring, or troubleshooting them.... but I do know that anything connected to an internet connection via a router is more directly connected than something via a hub and a master system.
  8. Exactly. "Now that I'm getting two million hits per month, I don't need to try so hard. Buy my T-shirts! Donate to pay for the server costs that don't even come out of my pocket! You'll get a wallpaper image for your trouble! Also, buy the book that's a collection of my webcomic!"
  9. Definitely not your standard retail version of the game.
  10. Armor boss = cool, furry boss = hell no.
  11. Pfft, the only games in western PA and eastern OH are Intellivision carts. I've still never seen an actual INTV, for sale or not. You're more than welcome to them, they're all at the area Goodwill stores.
  12. Self portraits are seldom painted with candor.
  13. AOL charges $5? HAHAHAHA, wtf-ever. Any decent ISP doesn't care how many computers or game systems you have on your connection, it's not like you can exceed your bandwidth throttle anyway.
  14. I doubt anybody would really invest in a new Sega console with their track record... Not for a long time...
  15. Does Animal Crossing still come with a memory card? If so, that would be the only reason to buy it. I played it for a couple months... after so long it becomes the opposite of fun. Then after you've done everything, you regret the time you wasted on it, you never look back and say "boy, that was time well spent".
  16. I believe that is a motherfucking lie.
  17. The problem is, webcomics are generally not funny. The few that are eventually run themselves neck deep into shit because of their popularity, and become abominations in the eyes of Humor. The best thing that can be said nowadays about Penny Arcade, for instance, is that it has its moments. I suppose that's far more than Sinfest, Megatokyo, PVP, LittleGamers, and Sinfest can garner.
  18. I love the music in the Gameboy version.... Years ago someone asked me to rip the main theme for them, and it's been stuck in my head ever since.
  19. Standard Japanese faire. Ugh, now I'm reminded of the US Megaman and Ranma 1/2 box art. *blanch* Yeah, I suppose they know a thing or three about packaging aesthetics.
  20. PS2 (broken), but at least the games were fun. Or maybe that was so long ago that nostalgia is clouding my judgement. Gamecube, but Metroid and Zelda have no replay value. Hitman 2 was alright, but it feels wrong with the Gamecube controller. Xbox (borrowing from my brother), it seems fine... but now that I've had some serious time with the controllers, I can say they absolutely suck without guessing. I need a PS2 adapter. Badly. That can wait until after I con somebody out of Halo though.
  21. Of course the majority is in the lower ranks. Can you believe some people don't even have bank accounts? But I digress. This thread was for OR, not AND. If you want the most for your money with a reduced likelihood of hardware failure, XB. If you have a hundred million PSX games and DVDs already, and there are certain titles you MUST play, PS2. Just wait for PSTwo to come out. It's not that far off. If you have a metric fuckload of Nintendo=bearing friends in your cult/town/city/colony, dive right into Nintendo's gadget prison. Multiplayer weirdness is the theme. You can't call yourself a man until you've filled every port on the Gamecube with SOME device.
  22. If you don't like me, you can ignore me. Or eat me, your choice, I don't care either way.
  23. Village Discount Outlet, Austintown, Ohio DMG-01, $3.50... works, but the LCD is showing some wear. There are THREE complete Genesis 2 systems there, for $8 each. Go ahead and grab them, they're in the basement area. I didn't need an $8 Genesis when the one I already have isn't showing any signs of failure.
  24. As hard as it may be to believe, not everybody shits money.
