Legendary edition is just fine for me. As much as I want the ghost edition, realistically I don't have the space for that huge box or the statue for that matter. So it all worked out haha.
Either way, this week has been hard without it. Going to be a loooong month.
-
Not a chance.
-
Yesterday. No offense but with Mario kart alone how could you let it stay unplayed forbeven a week?

-
For a knife? What does that have to do with anything? Haha. Seriously I don't get the demand for useless clutter. Give me the game and extra content. Keep your cheap toys.

Look on eBay. $700 plus for the ghost edition. Those are bids no less. Freaking nuts. The day I spend half a grand more on a game just for a statue is the day I don't want to be in this green earth anymore haha.

So did Nintendo discontinue this or what? If so, why?
No clue. To my knowledge, it was only released in Japan. I know for a fact there are tons of people in North America who would buy this for 35 bucks, so I don't get why it's not been released here. It's almost like they used Japan as a test bed, it didn't do well, so they decided to just can it. Maybe in Japan when your living room is the size of my dining room, it's easier to leave the gamepad plugged in, but here in the States it's horribly inconvenient to have a 3 hour battery life.
Like I said, get it while it lasts. Trust me, the 3000mAh knock offs are a huge risk, so don't bother. That and they don't even perform like you'd expect them to even when they do work. And the Nyko ones die in less than a year, and have horrible reviews. The product is so "crap" that they don't even sell the thing anymore.
So this is basically you're only option. Even if you don't think you need it today, I implore all of you AA guys to pick one up as their resale value is through the roof, and you'll likely not be able to afford one in the future.

http://www.gaikokugamers.com/2014/07/nintendos-2550mah-wii-u-battery.html
I wrote a quick article on our site with pictures of the Japanese released battery upgrade for the Wii U gamepad.
If you've been on the fence with purchasing the official 2550mAh battery, wait no longer. I'm not sure how long these batteries will be offered, so I'd get them while you can.
The battery fills the battery bay, doesn't add any noticeable weight, and gives your gamepad a boost of twice the battery life.
Play-Asia still has it in stock, for now. But I do know that their sale is "clearance". Not sure if it's a perminant discontinue, or temporary, but considering it's the only place to buy them without spending a couple hundred bucks (eBay/Amazon), it's well worth two Jacksons to get shipped to your door.
Enjoy!

I got it in the mail
. WOW. It's in "like new" condition. Manual looks new, foam looks new, and the system and controllers look like they were made yesterday, I'm not even kidding you. It's weird, as ours was all yellowed, but to see it again like this is a shock to the system. I doubt this was ever taken out of the box, haha. The cords are even still tied up. -

Here's to hoping the Wii U and PC's community is better. I can't stand playing Forza 5 on my Xbox One online. I NEVER find people who play like they should. And when you do, there's always someone who joins the room and ruins it for everyone. I find it much worse than the GT community, where most rooms at least make a good effort (plus the fact they have the power to boot people and make specific rooms, which certain helps, and is something Forza lacks). It's sad really, as I like Forza better, but I really wish they took a page from GT's online infrastructure.
Hopefully this game will be too "hard core" for the casual idiot to ruin. Time will tell. Here's to hoping they at least allow you to kick people from a room.
Here's a good video of some of the issues that hopefully are ironed out at this point. The extremely inept AI and the physics of those haybales that the AI take out every time they're lining the track is hilarious.
I really hope they get the AI down on this so it provides a pleasant single player experience. Racing against console gamers online is just an exercise in frustration since the average Xbox/PS gamer has no interest in racing properly. -
Did they ever patch sonic and Sega? Last I had the game I couldn't do certain levels because they were glitches.

Personal preferences shouldn't have anything to do with avingnthe correct system forum.

Items gone, items lowered in price.
Saturn needs to go!

-
Yeah, I'm running out of internal space, too. I really don't want to get a hdd, but this is pathetic that it's nearly full already.
-
Thanks man! Been having a blast with it.
Yeah, eBay has gone nuts. I don't know what's more disturbing, the crazy priced auctions and buy it nows, or the fact there are tons of people buying them!
Even if you didn't know you could get a refurb from Nintendo, you'd think people would know of Craigslist... or at the very least what the retail price is for one! I mean come on, go to any online or brick and mortar store and it clearly shows a $299 sticker. Why are these people spending $450 for a WindWaker package still freakin' in stock!?!?!?
Yeah, Play Asia has been around forever. Very reputable, don't worry. The Wii U Nintendo branded batteries are now on sale for 31 plus shipping. Just bought one last night. I didn't want to spend the money, but honestly, I know it'll be put to good use. Every time I've used the Wii U this week, I've played each sitting till the battery died, so I definitely need more battery life, lol.

The Mario/Luigi bundle, assuming it's the same price (I haven't looked it up), is a slightly better value than MK8 bundle, assuming you plan on buying both games. Mario ($59.99) + Luigi ($29.99 retail or $19.99 DLC) at $70-80 is slightly better deal than the $59.99 MK8, unless the MK8 bundle comes with a wheel and other goodies. I haven't price checked them though. Plus, it's uber cool have Mario+Luigi on the same disc! Think of how awesome the SMAS+SMW SNES cart was, and it too was only available as a pack in. NintendoLand is kind of "Meh," but only $20 if you buy it new, cheaper used, and is no longer bundled I believe. Mario 3D World is another must have.
EDIT: Crap forgot about the MK8 promotion. If you register MK8 at Club Nintendo on or before July 31st, you can download a free game. Super Mario U is one of them, or you can select Pikmin 3, Zelda WW HD, or Wii-U Party. I recommend either Pikmin 3 or Zelda for the free download if you buy the M+L Wii-U bundle then MK8 separate, or download Mario if you get the MK8 bundle. Whatever you do, hurry up. Times-a-wastin'

MK8 bundle comes with a Mario branded wii controller and a Mario branded wheel shell in addition to the game itself. So honestly, I'd say the MK8 bundle is probably worth more. Then again "worth" should come down to what you love to play. Get the bundle that makes you happy first and foremost!

-
Wow, thank you! I remember checking this after making my first purchase and was disappointed to see there wasn't any money in there, then never bothered to check again.
Had $15 sitting in there! Now I just have to decide...Shovel Knight, or F-Zero MV and GoldenSun.
-
Either get it used at Craigslist or get it refurbed from Nintendo. Going to eBay or GameStop and you'll spend a freakin fortune. I agree btw. Dont go to GameStop. You'll just be throwing your money away.
If you want my honest opinion though, I personally didn't much care for Nintendoland at all. Maybe find a Wii U bundle out there that comes with a different game.
-
Just bought mine from PlayAsia (they're clearancing theirs out) for 31.99 plus shipping. A bit high, but I think it'll be worth it.
-
I agree, MK8 is awesome. Welcome back!
I went ahead and bought a second Wii U for the loft upstairs. I ordered one of the $200 refurb units from Nintendo's site. Once I get it, I'll finally be able to play when my wife's busy with Zelda or Pikmen.

I'm also eagerly looking forward to the return of the high capacity Gamepad batteries. Supposedly they'll be back in stock within the next month or so.
They had some in stock (the official higher cap. Nintendo brand ones) at Play Asia. Was going to pick one up. I honestly can't STAND this battery life as it is. I play half an evening from a full charge and I'm greeted with a blinking red light. I love the system, but seriously, what was Nintendo thinking with this battery???
The battery is 35 bucks. Not sure if that's a good price or not. Figured it's worth it. I know i'd use it.
Glad you got one. 200 isn't a bad price at all! I still can't believe how much these things are going for on eBay. The fact people are not only selling, but BUYING $450 Wind Waker LE Wii U bundles that you CAN STILL BUY AT GAMESTOP FOR $299 makes me want to scream. Not only that, but used systems go for just a Jackson or two below retail. I guess it's a good thing, as the value has stayed high. But you'd think for a used system you could do better on eBay.
I ended up getting mine for 180 with MK and 3D World, so I feel like I did pretty dang well
. -
Personally, I'd rather have games than physical crap I don't need/would only eventually sell on eBay.
Unfortunately, the games they provided I either already owned or didn't want. I feel they could have done a little better, but free is free I suppose...
-
....I guess that answers your question
. -
I agree, the system leaves a lot to be desired. This is from someone who's had both. Are there great games to be had? Sure, of course. But they've been the same great games since the first few months of its release, outside of Persona 4 Golden.
I loved the system, I really did. Why Sony dropped support on this hardware so badly and hasn't come back in full swing like the Wii U I have no clue. But the long and short is, you will go through the few desirable titles very quickly, and once you're done, I doubt you'll find much else to do with the system.
Sad but true. I liked the PSP MUCH better. At the very least that system had a great import library.

I got Super Mario Bros as I wasn't a platinum level yet (that and I already own Earthbound anyway). It was also one of the few VC games listed I didn't have and wanted, so whatever

This is from my personal collection, and I've had it since the 90's. Sega CDX for sale in great condition. A couple scratches, but otherwise in amazing shape. Comes with the original 6 button controller, original CDX power adapter, rf and av cords, and .... the original CDX branded leather carrying case! CD unit, cart unit, etc. works perfect (of course), as do the power lights/orange backlight. It's a great system for a great price.
$250
Region modded model 2 Sega Saturn Netlink bundle. Comes with region modded system (plays any region's game), sealed copy of Sega Rally Netlink Edition, Virtual On Netlink Edition, and a Netlink unit with original box and phone cord, along with the rare PS/2 keyboard adapter that lets you use a keyboard in the player 2 joystick port. Even non-netlink games make use of this adapter. Comes with cords and original Model 2 Sega controller. Even through in some loose games like Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter 1 and more.
