See that's odd.. online with my 360 was literally, nearly impossible. Updates ect. were speedy, but Call of Duty, Soul Calibur 4, ect were so bad it was laughable. I mean, I couldn't move around. SC4 was literally a slide show. I replaced the wifi adaptor twice, and still no luck. However my wii and PS3 even play perfectly. I can play call of duty, street fighter 4, soul calibur 4, warhawk, ect without a blip. It's so smooth I forget I'm playing online sometimes. Where as the 360's wifi adaptor made it the worst online experience i've had since the Gamecube. Don't get me wrong, Live is a wonderful service. But concidering my only option was wifi and not a hard connection (which is muuuuch better) I couldn't play to save my life.

Do whatever you can to not need the wireless adaptor. Trust me, it's a piece of garbage and your ping rate will be in the red all the time. You missed out on the PS3 , wifi works great with that thing. But lots of good games on the 360 so enjoy it .

Congrats Daytona. I ended up not bidding because......I'm not that rich. But I'm glad the seller got so much for his items. He almost got a full grand for everything. And this is why putting them up for auction was the smartest move for him. He wouldn't have made that much with offers. On a final note, over the last two years that I've been watching PS2 test systems, I've never seen them go for that much. They usually hang in the $100-300 price range. But I haven't seen any in awhile so I guess the price went up alittle bit. I know I paid too much for it, and that is a bit depressing... however, I have never seen one for sale when the auction is still on, and like you said.. it's been a VERY long time since I saw one for sale period. I figured it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, so .. why not. I'm not the only crazy one.. someone bid up to 448 bucks to try to secure their win.

Unfortunately not. Most folks selling on eBay are from Hong Kong selling multiple copies. This guy was from NY and he imported the game (Called Hakuna Matata not Afrika but the same game) 4 months ago and is done with it. My last two PS3 games have been import only and I have my eye on that Demon Souls. By gum, there might not be a lot in the US to get excited about on the PS3, but that's not to say there aren't things to get excited about elsewhere. I don't pretend to understand the strategy. huh, that's odd, I'm finding quite a few releases I'm excited about here. But to each their own. I'll see if I can find of the afrika game though on ebay .

Haha, sounds good. If it's made by the same guys as the ones that did katamari, you can't really lose. Now, if we could get Katamari on the PS3 eventually, then I'd really revoice. Heck, I'd even take HD remakes in the PSN store of the originals on the PS2.

Can you tell us what the game is like? I'm interested, but I'd like to know more than the obvious eating things...

There are two games that I felt weren't worth a dime. Super Monkey Ball because the controls were horrid. If Katamari can do it, they can. And that Super GT game which was the most boring/ugly racer you can probably pick up that you have to pay for in the App store.

Thanks for making this thread. I have actually found love again for handhelds since I've played on my iPhone. If you like Crash btw, there are much better games out now. Some games some of you other classic junkies might like are Dropship, FF Crystal Defenders, iShoot, Light Bike (free!), rRootage, VectorBlaster, and Solar Quest (LOVE this game).

I've been playing Street Fighter IV (ps3 version) and I literally have had the biggest grin on my face. I guess for me, it's the same feeling that fanboys had when Mega Man 9 came out (I never heard of Mega Man :ducks: when the NES was out when I was a kid, so I don't have that love for him). It's not so much the Street Fighter theme. I have LOTS of fighters on mulitple consoles from Capcom, so I know it's not about seeing Ryu or Ken again. I honestly think I have figured it out... it's the blistering/burning thumb you get by playing games like this, and I've really missed that feeling. It honestly made me feel like a kid again, playing my snes or my nes, when I'd get that and it's an unbelievable sensation. It's nice to be almost punished for trying to hard to do well haha. Maybe it's the lack of modern games that use a dpad, I donno, but it's been a long time since I had a thumb that's hurt like this on a *new* game. I'm curious if any of you have had this wonderful moment with any modern game. Do you miss that feeling when you play a game hard, and yet your hands are all comfy on your soft joystick nobs? Thought I'd share. Was just a really special moment for me last night.

The online mode alone is so fun. I haven't had such a big grin on my face from playing a game in a VERY long time. Bravo.

I got the ps1 and the ps2. Didn't wanna pay as much as I did for the ps2, but I told myself "one last bid" and I beat him by a dollar, so hey.. that works! Yay for tax refund checks Who got the Xbox and the Panasonic 3D0?

Nah, I'm quite content with my iPhone now, and I'm not really feeling like buying a third iteration of a handheld with the same processor in it, ya know?

Oh nice, I wanted to play that game. Just curious, how do you like it so far? And good to know about that release... I'll get that version then if I decide to import it. I heard it's being released in America under the National Geographic license soon. Might be worth waiting for the US version.

I'm sorry, but that looks like the worst pos I've ever seen. I mean.. what is that? A funky D Pad and a ...trackball? Oh yea, I'm sure controls on games would be greatly improved with that setup :/

marry a ps3, 360 and wii controller. I'd be happy with a ps3 controller with better R2 L2 triggers like 360, but keep the R1 L1 triggers (better than bumpers on 360), have the PS3's usb charge but have 360's joystick layout, and shove a pointer on the top of the controller like the wiimote (ps3 already has motion sensors, so walla!" I think that would be about perfect right there.

Yea.. i know it sounds silly, but it wasn't broken. Instead of tapping X to exit a vehicle, I was holding it down...thus when i moved my control stick to move my character (run) it instead was moving me to the other position in the tank/4x4. So thank god I resolved that .

Not that we really need a flame war here, but you can mark me down as someone who doesn't use it as an inexpensive blu ray player. In fact, I only have one blu ray lol. I'm really tired of this constant crap fest of negatism we shove on the PS3 all the time, and for that matter, any system in history NOT in 1st place (or 1st place in the HD catagory, which ms likes to spout a lot to get a high off saying 1st place). I'm sorry, but each of the three systems have their strengths and weaknesses, but I think it's a little late in the game to be making fun of the PS3 for a lack of software. It may not have been a "super starter", but it has definitely gained enough steam to warrant it's existance and a purchase for any modern gamer out there. And if you don't have one this year especially, you'll be missing some of the best games to ever grace any console this generation. In my personal opinion, there are *many* great exclusives for it that I wouldn't want to live without, and I feel the amount of worthwhile exclusives vs the number of worthwhile exclusives for the 360 are about equal. The rest are multiplatform games, so what's the difference here? I'm sorry, but your arguement is kinda like saying the PSP is a worthless system because it had a weak launch and because, in most regions, it's NOT above the DS. I guess I never understood this way of thinking (never understood it about the GC either) that just because you are in 3rd place, your worthless and should give up on making systems. I used to laugh so hard when people, for instance, would always talk about who was going to buy Nintendo so they could make games for either MS or Sony exclusively, assuming they would be a Sega in the industry even though they were turning a large profit and selling a very good amount of games. Ugh, sorry..just that wavelength of thinking irritates the hell out of me. Bottom line, if all your friends are using their ps3s for is to play movies, then either 1. they arent gamers or 2. they have no tastes in games as they are missing out on many great exclusives.
