Hey. You should know there were warehouses where these games were stored where they were not stored properly. They warped basically. The information layer got effected. A famous game this happened with was space channel five. Finding a copy where it works from beginning to end without graphical issues can be hard. I once went through five copies till I found a perfect one.
So no. Its not your system. If your DC can run OK on any other game I almost guarantee this is your problem
Hope I helped.

So will this unit play us cd games as well? It looks like it plays us hu cards. I wasn't looking at the Japanese units as I was worried about compatibility but these are certainly more reasonable than the turboduo.
Please be wary of going the "Duo" route, either the american one or the Japanese one. Duo-R and Duo-RX are the only ones that won't give you a gigantic headache. I'd stick with those. Especially for the price you pay on a TurboDuo, which is downright ridiculous.
-
There are 3DO owners out there who say that on some games burning on cheap CDs, like Memorex, simply doesn't work. Other than burning at the lowest setting possible, maybe try a better quality brand, like Sony or something.

The save attatchements are cheap. I got my Shuttle PC Engine one brand new on eBay for like 40 bucks. Of course, with phones, remembering passwords is easier than ever, like the previous poster said. But I do find it very convenient in games like Bomberman to just select the memory option and begin where I left off. Plus, at least for the shuttle, the booster looks pretty cool.
Smart choice on going PC Engine, though. TG16 hardware and software has gone way out of wack. When a Turbo Duo costs 500-600 bucks.. hardware which is identicle to the PC Engine Duo (ie: not the most reliable hardware compared to the Duo-R and Duo-RX), things are just plain silly!
As far as I'm concerned, if you want to play American games on a PC Engine that badly, a simple region switch will do the job... or just get an Everdrive. Either way, PC Engine is the way to go, so you're doing the right thing.

Nomad is sold, thank you!

Are you firm on 175 for the neo Geo CD do you do trades
Offers are always welcome, just PM them. I'm not really looking for too much. Atm, I'm only really looking for PC Engine CD games.

I have a PC Engine Shuttle, which I love. But I wanted to get into the CD based games, so I just bought a PC Engine Duo-R. The regular non-R or RX duos, along with the US Turboduo, were plagued with cd issues. Remember, CD games are region free. And you could easily region mod a PC Engine Duo-R, or get an everdrive like me which allows you to play US and Japanese games on one system.
But I love this system. I really, really do. It's probably my favorite system, which comes as a shock to me, honestly, as I didn't have one nor heard of it when I was a kid.
If you don't want to play the unexplicably high price for "duo" technology, look into getting a PC Engine instead of a TG-16.

Price reduced to 175

Dangit. The "Region" was cut off and I thought it was just free.

Haha, sorry bud
. I'm all for offers, but free might hurt my wallet a bit too much

Sega Saturn Netlink Bundle! This is a very special bundle. This not only comes with a slew of great SS games, but the system itself is completely region free (from Japan, NA, and PAL! changed with the press of the reset button). But that's not the best part. It comes with the VERY hard to find and quite expensive Netlink Edition Virtual On Cyber Troopers game (copies typically go for roughly 150 dollars), and a sealed copy of the Netlink Edition Sega Rally! Also included is a boxed version of the Sega Netlink and a Sega Netlink Keyboard adapter (so you can use any PS/2 keyboard with the system) (inserts included, inner cardboard is not). It comes with a Sega model 2 controller in great shape, along with the following games:

He no longer will be making any more of these systems, and these are done with the best of components and quality control. This is a perfectly modded Sega Nomad with the remote control to adjust brightness as obviously the old knob does nothing to adjust this new, clear, monitor. No more motion blur, no more washed out colors. This will REALLY impress. System is in great condition, with a replaced screen protector. Minor scratches, but overall amazing shape. Comes with original Sega AC adapter, and a few games. Jurassic Park, 6-Pack (includes games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Revenge of Shinobi, Golden Axe, Columbs, Super Hang-On and Streets of Rage), Frogger, and Outrun 2019.SOLD

I kinda swore off Sony since my disappointment with the ps4. But honestly I might buy this just for grim fandango.

Great. Thanks.

And super fami on the trio? Adapter needed or no?
-
I saw a pic of the trio with Famicom and super fami carts in it without adapters. Are you sure you need that sold out adapter? SMS doesn't matter too much to me. I have a SMS

That makes sense to not have the track that's not visible unrendered. Definitely makes sense how they made some very nice graphics for the track.
-
Weird. Its pretty widely believed its polygonal in the 3do forums. Even says as much in the back of the box.
Again, if it was fmv the frame rate would stutter when the car slowed down as its just a recorded video in slow mo
-
Really want a retro trio now. Just got a master system and I could care less about gameboy support. So I don't really see the advantage of the retron. HDMI is great but not if it won't work.
Hey. Can anyone tell me if the trio can play games like starfox and super Mario RPG?
-
Battlesport is great with one player. I don't have another controller either. Yeah if you're used to 3do graphics its plain as day its polygonal (outside the cars of course). Plus unlike the fmv racers on the system the framerate doesn't slow down (because its a video). I just have the first shockwave which comes on on CD.
-
You need to get Road Rash, Street Fighter 2, and samurai shodown for sure. You'll love gex in the 3do BTW. The fz-1 models are good. Just make sure the CD tray works as they go bad like the model 1 neo Geo CD systems.
I'd recommend battle sport if you liked the Lucas arts 2600 game that's nearly identical in gameplay. Shockwave is pretty fun as well. Star control 2 is a fantastic game. And crash n burn is a REALLY fun non-fmv polygonal racer ala road rash.
There are some other games I'd get after you get the really good ones. Like tripd, soccer kid and sailor moon s.

New items, and price reductions. Practically giving some of this stuff away
. Offers are welcome. -
Remember, the GC component cord isn't like any other. There's a chip in the cord that makes it work. Otherwise the system can't produce the signal on its own.
It would be awesome to hack it and produce such a signal, but I don't think it'll be that easy.

Thanks guys. Unlike Indiana Jones this game is actually very good. Sorry, I know everyone loves that game but I thought it was clunky. Stunt racer 64 is a hoot. It's simple, but the controls are a lot of fun. Doing drifts and performing flips is insanely gratifying. The backgrounds are good too.
I will say though that crash n burn on the 3do might be even better. The fully textured polygonal backgrounds are stunning and honestly put stunt racer to shame graphically. Why some people still think its a fmv racer is beyond me. The game clearly isn't or the frames would get worse when slowing down as the movie was going slower. That and you can tell if youre used to 3do graphics what polygons look like verses something prerendered, and you can move side to side on the track which changes the perspective instead of the background staying the same no matter where you drive on the road. Heck it even says this on the back of the box. Haha.
Any who. Having a great time.

That's a good idea actually. I wonder if those things are affordable. I'll have to look that up
