  1. Hacking them is one issue, sure. And it could be overcome in time, sure. But think of all the DLC content that's out there. All the dload only titles out there, unlike the original Xbox days. Do we really have all those raw files to store and distribute online for the masses who purchased them legitimately? It's an honest question, not trying to sound mean or anything. IS there a way to get these raw files, and has anyone started to collect them? Running burned game discs is one thing, and that should be easy. But acquiring all the DLC and dloaded titles is another.
  2. There's a problem with your theory on 360s. Jtagged systems have to be old. Like... really old. And they have to have not been online and received an update for a LONG time. There's very few of these systems out there that fit that requirement to jtag. And you make sueing sound like it's really easy. Like you just waltz down to Lawyerland and pick a guy out and go to court the next day and get cash the day after that. Normal people don't have the means to sue a company as big as Microsoft over $20 worth of DLC. Just saying. I agree that I'd condone piracy if they took it away, like they did with the original Xbox. And I agree it would be nice if someone sued them if they did it again. But the real reality of the situation is that we don't have the raw files for DLC to store for the future, we don't have all Xboxes able to be Jtagged, and most middle class citizens don't have the means to sue a juggernaut like Microsoft, and win.
  3. Take is as a gift from the Saturn. Merry Christmas! On a more serious note, I really would like to know how this could be done, although I can't solder. Ah well, I can dream can't I?
  4. Hey guys, I guess my Dreamcasts are officially... retro. Their age has started to show, as now both of my remaining Rev 0 model Dreamcasts have dead batteries. I guess it's not the end of the world to do the date and time during boot up, but it's kind of annoying. I know how to change the Saturn's battery, which is pretty easy, but I have no idea how to change the Dreamcast's battery, nor what kind of battery it even is. (FYI, I don't need help opening a Dreamcast, I know how to do that much. I just don't know what to do after I get to the battery )
  5. I'll buy one the minute you do a model 1 Sega Saturn. Seriously let us know if/when you do. Otherwise awesome job man.
  6. Hey Mack, I think I could help you again. A little confused about which of the pictures models are left. Let me know bud. Thanks.
  7. Dude that's highly illegal. Just. Do. It. Yourself. It's easy.
  8. Oh, you mean a spine card, right?
  9. Is that a black or a blue system? Sorry, I can't seem to make the picture any larger. And what's the screen condition and system condition like?
  10. That's all sorts of crazy right there. It's amazing they could do that on the Vectrex, but yeah, it kinda defeats the point OF the vectrex.
  11. Yeah, I've experienced this a few times in my life (not video game related). Usually after doing extensive research on a topic, you just start looking at everything as if it pertained to the topic, and got annoying (and stressful) as heck.
  12. Size, really. Well, yeah I do agree with Eltigro about weight. My desk has so much on it already, I was afraid to put on a CRT for risk of breaking it (it's glass and metal). The perfect solution I've found are broadcast monitors. I have an AV to BNC converter attached to an AV selector (can switch between 3 systems). In the future I'm hoping to have a couple more, but they're small, don't weight much, and their color/picture is nothing short of astounding. The one I have is a 9" JVC. Looks as good as Sony ones I've shopped around for, and only cost 40 bucks shipped.
  13. Depends what games you play. It won't happen in fighting games, but you'll definitely see it in games like Batman, CoD, or Gears of War. Had an original white pad creep with the left stick. I could play games like Beautiful Katamari no problem, but most other games it would creep all the time. My C-3PO controller did this in the first week (which ticked me off majorly) and the right stick was flawed badly. I could play racing games, anything that didn't require a right stick. And every S controller I've owned either did this eventually, or did it as soon as I brought it home (meaning it was already broken). The ONLY , and I mean the ONLY Xbox controller I've ever seen that didn't do this (other than the above mentioned Horipad) is the original Duke Xbox controller. In fact, back in the original Xbox days, all me and my roomates would play was SW BF II. We could never figure out what was wrong with our S style controllers, but as soon as we tried out Duke ones, we never saw an issue. I have my Duke style pad still to this day without problems. It's why I've tried so desperately in the past to find a converter that would allow me to use it on a 360. It's ok, the Horipad will do. Seriously though, check out "ghosting joysticks" or "creeping joysticks" for 360 on google. People's pads are really starting to fail at this point. Worst ones I've had are Mad Catz 360 pads. Not only do they generally die VERY quickly, but unlike Microsoft pads which barely every so noticeably creep, they move the joystick like it's half pressed to the side, literally making any game unplayable.
  14. You are, for the 360. Pretty serious design flaw.
  15. Same here. The few UMD movies I had I would play while at work. Wouldn't really watch them, but listen to them to pass the time as I worked on the computer. Listening to Alien is certainly something everyone should do at least once. Not being able to see the action makes you nearly crazy, haha.
  16. I be fair movies weren't released on vinyl but I get what you're saying. That's why we have laserdisc
  17. Haha totally. I don't typically pirate software or anything, but I'll hack the living daylights out of my ps3 and 360 if they do that. And I won't feel a bit bad for doing it either lol.
  18. I used to when they got uber cheap. But honestly the quality kinda sucked. And now that we have smartphones and tablets with better resolution it kinda killed the movie scene for me on the thing. Might be cool to load up a Go though with movies.
  19. Muchi Muchi Pork. Great shooter. Not a big xbox fan in the states, but Japan's library is fantastic.
  20. 360 pads have a serious problem. Whether they're licensed or third party (and sadly it's MUCH worse with third party controllers), 360 pads have a horrible tendency to ghost joysticks. Meaning, the joysticks will start to list lazily in one direction on their own without being pressed. If it hasn't happened to you, consider yourself lucky. Xbox controllers since the S pad have had this issue, and it seems 3rd party pads are no better. Especially Mad Catz ones..... ugh... even worse. It varies for users. Some need 3 years for it to start occurring, some a week (no kidding). If you don't believe me, do a search on google. It's an issue, to put it mildly. I recently got an import (Japanese) Xbox 360 without a controller, and was looking for a pad to play the games with. Let me tell you, it took forever to find one without joystick issues. And after looking for several days, I've only seemed to find one that doesn't have this problem, and it's rather hard to find. Meet the Horipad EX 2 Turbo. If that name doesn't sound like it came straight out of the 90s, I don't know what does.... So it seems like this awesome pad is your new controller. But be warned, it's not all fun in the sun. Released in early 2009, this controller had issues with ghosting joysticks as well... super! -_- You see, when Hori got complaints of this problem, unlike Microsoft and every third party company under the sun, Hori actually FIXED the issue! WOW, it's like someone cares about their reputation... If you buy one, try to find a new one so you can look at the box. On the back where the barcode is, look for a batch number 110601 or above. If it's past that, it was made in Sept 2009 or later. Any pad made then was fixed, and not a one has had issues with ghosting joysticks since. Awesome. Amazon demands over 200 bucks for a used pad. That's just how desperate people like me are to get a controller that doesn't glitch out every 10 seconds. But rest assured, you can (if you're lucky) find ones much cheaper on eBay. They're rare though, so look out. There's one on eBay right now, but after talking to the owner, it's an early 2009 build. YUCK. I'll pass. I got the only other one on eBay as of the time of this writing. It was brand new, from Japan, and was made in 2011. The last year they made the controller. Oh I didn't say it's out of production? Yeah.. it is. Good luck though AA readers, I hope I helped. Seriously, it's kinda sad that only one pad out there exists that I'll never have to worry about ghosting joysticks on my 360. But hey, I only need one that works. Happy gaming everyone.
  21. Wow, weird that it can turn the system on, but not even a joystick would work. I get that it's missing the same buttons and features, but come on. The A button should do something, haha.
