Odyssey 2 games for sale/trade *SOLD*
Vectrex-Atari replied to Vectrex-Atari's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I must say, these games sold quick. -
Picked these up from the thrift yesterday before the flea market guys could get a hold of them. The games are: Dynasty (box is a little crushed but CIB) Football (top of the box is ripped a little at the hang tag, CIB) Speedway/spinout/Cryptologic (CIB with the corner smashed a little) Computer golf (excellent shape, CIB) Matchmaker/logix/buzzword (excellent shape, CIB) bowling/basketball (Excellent shape, CIB) blockout/breakdown (Box and cart is great, but missing instructions) All labels are either excellent or good, but IMO, I think they are all very nice. I am asking $5 for all 7 games. I dont have an odyssey so I cant play them. I picked these up to save them from the flea market A-holes who mark them up $5 a piece. I an not making any money on this deal.

My sister brought over her GC with Zelda WW in it. I tried to play it and got disgusted with it. Theres just TOO many buttons, joysticks etc. It got confusing and I became fustrated with it. Why cant they use the "KISS" principle? The SNES controller was very simplistic and got the job done real well. I just cant get into the new systems anymore. I think I will stay with my SNES and 5200.

What's Your Favorite Video Game System of All Time
Vectrex-Atari replied to JohnnyBlaze's topic in Classic Console Discussion
The 5200 was my first system. We had for many years till it quit working. I still have fond memories of it more than the SNES. The the SNES was the one system I played the most. Never owned anything between 5200 and SNES. I got the N64 when it first came out and gave it to my sister. Playing super mario on N64 made me puke (literally). I havent had a newer system (yet). -
Thanks dude, I needed that. You cant hardly play games anymore without a cheat book or write up.

yes. We try to hit him when we are able to, but his eye or whatever closes and we cant hit it.

All right, Me and My sister have made it to the 1st monster. WE cant figure how to beat the damn thing. Its really making me mad and Im getting ready to run over this game with a lawn mower. How do you defeat him?

My sister bought Socom for her PS2 and does not like it. She was trying to get into a war type game, but she likes Sims online instead. The store she bought it from wont take it back, nor give her store credit. The game has only been played once and all the papers, headset, and box are in excellent shape. I am trying to sell if for her to get some or most of her money back. If anyone is interested, please PM me.

Good job And its cheap too now you need a switch for Pole position.

I am starting to become obessed with PAM. Everyday, no matter where I go, im looking for atari stuff. I am hoping that I may find some rare game or even a prototype thats waiting to be discovered. There isnt much Atari related stuff here in my county. Flea markets are about the only source, and its expensive. Im waiting for my big break. I manage to find a Box of 5200 games, controllers, and a VCS adapter at a Bookstore of all places. but that is it for the past 6 months.
-
Being boxed is the reason. Collectors usually fight for boxed wicos. A working Wico with Y adapter Usually goes for about 30-40 bucks on epay.

For shifting gears I used a switch i got from radio shack... http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?cata...5Fid=275%2D1555 The switch works well and its better than a momentary switch (your already smashing the two fire buttons a third wears out your fingers fast). I did my paddle like badbrad did. The 2600 paddle has locating tabs in it to keep the pot from turning. I took a 1/2 gasket punch and made the rubber boot hole bigger. I am selling mine soon as I need the money. It has a new rebuild kit in it as well.

Koffi II- Firestorm Story: Some local kids are setting the forests on fire for fun, can you put the flames out in time before they spread? But I rather have someone finish Tempest though.

I have one and I play it all the time. The front lighting does help if you play in dark places. The rechargeable battery is a nice touch, but it has some other issues. 1) no headphone jack. You have to buy an adapter 2) The screen has a glare in really bright areas 3) the stock speaker has distortion all the way up. But its better than regular GBA overall.

ok.. I finally did it! First time owner of a two port 5200
Vectrex-Atari replied to Shannon's topic in Atari 5200
if you look at the printed circut when you open them up, towards the bottom of it it will say either "REV 7" or "REV 9". Also, the pots will look different. the rev 7 pots are adjustible and have a hole in the center of the pivot point. the Rev 9 does not. -
I bought it today and so far its a great game. Nice graphics for a GBA and gameplay is good (for me). I get stuck every once and a while, but I figure it out and keep moving on. I give it a thumbs up

Your Controllers need a rebuild kit. The stock fire buttons and start pad go bad all the time. retrogames-r-us (MrRetrogamer) sells the rebuild kits and his product is wonderful. The question about the responsive joystick. Atari uses Two Different Potentiometers. Revision 7 controllers use a "Pot" that has a lower resistance while a Revision 9 controller has a Pot that has a higher resistance. I have both of them and the Revision 7 is a fustration to play with pacman and others. The revised 9 controller makes Pac-man MUCH easier, but makes other games harder to play (like super cobra) I use the rev. 9 controller the most. -
Has anyone picked up and played this game? I have been spending some time at the GBA display case at wally world and debated weather to get it or not. Is the game good for GBA specs or is it lame? I was wondering if it was simmilar to Jaguar Rayman game. TIA

Looking to get a 5200...but at what cost?
Vectrex-Atari replied to liquidcross's topic in Atari 5200
The main reason I like the VCS adapter is that I dont have to have two switch boxes for the 2 systems. Also I got 4 other systems as well and less RF switch boxes keeps the picture clearer. I like to watch snow free TV if you know what I mean. -
I have both of those games and I play HERO the most.

The basic 5200 with no games an 1 controller go around 20-30 bucks. A VCS adapter goes for about the same. -
Laws are there to be broken. If we didnt break the laws, there wouldnt be any fun.
-
I believe that has to do with the Region code.

I hate it when this happens. Now Ill never get one. Dammit WIZ, are you still gonna do the Repos of the 5200 carts? I like to get my hands on Super pacman and others.
