Since Im into Atari, I have a few doubles and some games from other systems. I dont have much right now. http://hometown.aol.com/kyzerklan/myhomepa...collection.html

I dont get it with banning repops. I mean, look at the classic car hobby. There are literally MILLIONS of repoped parts. we have to use them since the original manufacturer doesnt make them. And you can ALWAYS find a difference between a repop from an original.
-
Can you tell us who they are? I'd be interested to find out, as I'm wondering if they reported my auctions two weeks ago too. Cheers, Marco here is the link to the thread. Youll see. http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10964 It seems like the classic gamming world is in trouble with people like these. rbudrick is another Lars Ulrich to me. And I cant stand having a another Lars running around.

I dont believe is was anyone here at AA. I think Bratwurst said it all.

Ya, but a good, spare working 5200 controller will cost you anywhere from $10-$25 to begin with. I dont know, but I guess i am lucky. Found 2 5200 controllers and 2 sets of paddles for a whooping 3 bucks
-
Its not that bad. I have built two so far with excellent results. Besides, there are mainly 3 games that really use the paddle (super breakout, pole position, and Kaboom). 2 bucks of epoxy, $3 switch from radio shack and 1 hour, I had my first one done. If you can use a hacksaw, drill and a soldering iron, this is no biggie. I wonder if I should do a article w/pics about this?

What machine is this????????
Vectrex-Atari replied to wapchimp's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Did it look similar to this? This is the Sears version of the intellivision: -
The wicos appear occasionally on E-bay. A Wico stick goes for around 25-35 dollars I think. If you do get a wico, make sure you get the Y cable that came with it. Here are some of the other controllers: http://www.atariage.com/5200/archives/hardware.html

I hate Walmart/Kmart (GBA SP)
Vectrex-Atari replied to Vectrex-Atari's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I had to drive 40 miles to the big city to get it. I manage to find the game at a toys-r-us for a few dollars more. I got the SP from my local walmart. The SP seems to be really cool. The front light does help, but glare is a big problem in lighted areas. -
I have been saving up lately to get a GBA SP. I mainly want the GBA SP so I can play Zelda - LTTP, since it has been ported. For weeks I have been going to walmart to get it, but evertime I go with Money, the Zelda game is sold out. I ask them when they will get them in and they say "I dont know" So about the time I find out they have them, they sell out Im not buying the SP untill I get my game first. Kmart is worthless. period

Lets talk about the infamous controller...
Vectrex-Atari replied to Vectrex-Atari's topic in Atari 5200
I've been searching for spring loaded pots for the 5200 for about a year. I haven't found any the exact size as the originals and the spring ones I 've found are only good for one direction. Meaning the neutral postion is all the way counterclockwise left and it turns clockwise. The spring returns all the way to the left. Wouldn't the 5200 sticks require the neutral postion to be dead center with a spring to return from full left/right or up/down? I was working on adding springs to the plastic guides in the 5200 stick ala an analog PC stick with mixed results. It usually works for 1 or 2 games and then the springs fly out all over the place. There just isn't much room in tose controllers to mount stuff. You Know, maybe we are going about this the wrong way. Instead of try to make the "round pots" self centering, why dont we try useing lateral pots. Think of a slide volume pot and have it spring loaded. That might fit underneath the joystick and with mods to the knob, it might work. probably have to epoxy them to the bottom of the controller or something to retain them. -
Lets talk about the infamous controller...
Vectrex-Atari replied to Vectrex-Atari's topic in Atari 5200
Me and a friend that works with CNC equipment have been trying to find a way to make the pots spring loaded. The problem we run into is the tight confinements of the controller. The pot can't be any taller than it is, so it hard to get springs in it. -
Ok, I recently started taking about controllers today and found some interesting differences. 1) I have found two different pots used in the controllers. What is the difference between the two? My original revision 9 controllers seem to have a pot that is smaller in diameter, while the revision 7 controllers have the regular size pot. My revision 9 controller seems to be more sensitive and actually makes Pac-man easier to play (opposite for Super Cobra). 2) My revision 9 controllers have no date code or manufacture stamped in the bottom of it. Does that mean that mine where bought new off the shelf? Thats it for now. TIA

That is way too high. You can get those games and the machine separate and still have less than that in it. I only spent 100 bucks on 12 games for mine, and the came with the overlay and instructions. I keep the overlays and manuels in page protectors in a 3 ring binder. But if you a person that must have a CIB deal, I guess money is no object.

I just finished building my own 5200 paddle myself. I think I am going to start building them on the side and sell them. Now I got to find some paddles though cheap.
-
On the other hand, at least now I know not to up the ante on my bid. All is not lost. Have you tired PM chrisbid? He said he has two of them. Ask him if he is willing to part with one... http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22997

I am getting back into getting stuff for the Vectrex. I have some questions about pricing and troubleshooting. 1) Tell me, Is this guy crazy, or do you think it will sell? Im looking for some of the more common games like FON and spinball. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3&category=4315 2) Is there a way to get the buzzing noise out of the sound system? It gets annoying sometimes, sound like somethings gonna blow up. I figure somebody has figured a way to add a noise capacitor or something to eliminate it. 3)Also, the picture on the screen is starting to act up. It seems to lose its brightness when I first start it up. I have to tap on the case a couple of times to get it to work right. I read somewhere that this is a common problem, but I cant find the link now. TIA

How much for a New 5200 Trackball Controller?
Vectrex-Atari replied to Vectrex-Atari's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Well, I know I wont be able to find one around my area. My only bet is *gulp* expensive ebay. -
I am looking into getting a new Trackball controller for my 5200. What is the going rate for a new, boxed one?
-
Are you offering to do this conversion WIZ? I like to do my 4 port, but everthing that I touch, quits working
-
Has anyone heard of these games? I downloaded the list from Digital Press and they are not listed. The says on the box "for the Commodore 64 computer". The company is sublogic.
