  1. thanks for that. I have had a look for Alpine boards and not found jot. So I was hoping there would be an alternative along the lines of the flash cart, sounded excactly up my street Ideally I'd love an Alpine system.. If anyone sees one for sale could you drop me a mail. I'd love to join you in the relms of Jag Dev.
  2. I have always been keen on developing stuff for Atari machines (I self taught myself Assembly on my ST by the age of 13, and wrote a few nice demoesque menus). I am quite keen to do some development on Atari consoles too. Especially the Jag. What I would like to know is where do you get these flash cards from that I have heard talk of? and what do you need to produce software and get it on one of these cards? Are these part of the Alpine development system? or something else? I think my initial attempts will be on the 2600 as it's a much simpler beast, but I would love to be able to produce a game on the Jag. Thanks for any help.
  3. I think I heard that the New Wolf Game (Return to Castle Wolfenstien) they changed the story, so you played a German spy breaking into a secret organisation within the Nazi's or something.
  4. the layout of the qwerty keyboard is actually designed to slow down your typing. This was done because in the olde days of mechanical typewritters it was possible for people to type faster than the machines could handle and caused them to jam quite often. So by spacing out the most common keystrokes it made typists slow down. For the most uber typing keyboard you need a DVorak keyboard (those weird looking ones with to pits that you rest your hands in with the keys under your fingers.. if you get what I mean ) Just a bit of trivia.. I thought it quite interesting
  5. that is a good price! If you look on the digital jitter website I mentioned in my docs they list 2-3 US suppliers, which I guess are reputable for them to be listed. I never really looked (not being in the US and all ) so no idea of the price they would sell em for.
  6. Didn't they also get rid of all the gore and blood? and in WOlf 3D they had to remove all the Nazi related stuff?
  7. although If it had been a working cart I'd have to say Chequered flag would deffinately be the one I would choose to sacrifice as a dust cover
  8. Do Canadian TV's have them? (SCART being French and all). Failing that if your TV has component (RGB) inputs it should be pretty easy to make a converter, either SCART -> RGB or Jag -> RGB (if it doesn't already exist).
  9. Well I am willing to make high res movies if you just send me the Cart ))) worth a try
  10. One of the sites I mentioned had a list of suppliers,, there was one for the UK and a load for the US.. the UK one was www.cricklewoodelectronics.com If you want the full list goto Digital Jitter. OOPS that link was supposed to be in my docs and I have fluffed the HTML! I'll get that fixed. There are only a few suppliers, but I guess most decent electronics shops should be able to source one for you. Hope this is of some help. and good luck.
  11. errr.. I converted the CD to cart.. honest )) OOPS! well spotted batman, you have won a star.. * enjoy Well If I did have battlemorph I bet jamming it in the cart port wouldn't work anyway It's late and thats my final excuse ..
  12. I get red screens on a few carts, normally blowing hard on the cart edge connector solves the problem (guess the moisture improves conduction as well as your breath shifting the dust.) Only one I can't get to work is Battlemorph but I think the pins have just had it on the cart.
  13. Thats Bad news. However there is a solution, I had a similar problem with a Jag CD I recently bought of eBay. But I have been able to replair it quite easily. I have replaced the entire CD Transport (thats the laser, and both the lateral motor and the spindle motor). The unit isn't made anymore, but the Transport is deffinately still in production/availible. If you want the docs there on my currently underconstruction site at http://www.the-crow.co.uk/jagcdtrans/ If I can help just drop me a mail, glad to help another Atari fan. Good luck.
