I have a CX-10, but there are a few caveats.
I bought it in a huge lot years ago. The previous owner 'tinkered' with all of it....swapped out ICs on a heavy sixer board that effectively inverted the colors; cut all of the cords on sets of keyboards, paddles, steering controllers, and a set of CX-10s. He/she attached the cut cords to a homemade a switch (of sorts), but never finished the job.
ANYHOW...
I have a CX-10 from that lot that would need the entire cord (going from the PCB to the VCS) and the rubber boot.
I'm not sure how appealing that is to you, but the the original PCB, the plate, the casing, the button, and the stick are all there. I can take a picture of it tomorrow, if it's of any interest to you.

I have never heard of an NTSC 600XL that wasn’t fully-socketed. A 64K upgrade should be just the matter of a couple of chips and a couple jumper wires, if you’re handy with a soldering iron.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I'm not shy with a soldering iron.
Anyhow, thank you for all of the insights! The upgrade looks fairly simple. I'm ordering the chips today.
I hope this didn't derail the original post. That was never my intention.
Thanks again, everybody!

Thank you for all of the feedback. SS, thank you for the files. Just as you suggested, most of the files I tried worked without a hitch. I will need to open this thing up at some point, get the keyboard functioning (one section doesn't register), and figure out this RAM situation. It seems like a waste to keep the machine at 16k, when the Ultimate cart opens the door to so many titles. Let's hope the chips are socketed :-p

Purchased Donkey Kong DK from him. Even with a donor cart switch-er--oo, the transaction was quick, and the process was easy. Lest we forget that this game is perfection. Thank you!

I received my cart last week. It's great!
Just a quick question for the masses... Should it be expected that my stock 600XL is unable to launch many titles? Most commercially released, common titles (that I know for certain were released in the earliest 8-bit days...think Space Invaders, etc.) run fine, whether in .car or .rom file formats. It seems like most that I try that are post-1982, however, are a no-go. I've chalked this up to the machine only having 16K of RAM, but I thought I'd check in to see if I should dig further. This is my first experience with an Atari 8-bit, so, please excuse my ignorance.
Is the 16k of ram going to be an issue for cartridge-based games? When I get home from work, I'll try some of the titles that weren't working while holding the 'Option' key at launch.

I bought an ultimate cart (8-bit) from MacRorie. He included sufficient documentation, and everything arrived quickly. He was communicative and a pleasure to do business with.
Thank you!

Like others have mentioned, it can vary. Seems like the earlier runs of the 2600 decks have more saturated color tones, especially when compared to the juniors. I find 2600 carts played on the 7800 to appear almost washed-out by comparison.
You're probably fine...

Howdy! I read the thread, and it looks like you were taking preorders in November of last year. Are you still taking preorders? Is the process for preordering the same?

Sega Dreamcast Console
Quantity: 1
Model: HKT-3020
Serial: (Might Be) DUQ85794474
Price: Free
Shipping: USPS Priority, $13.65
Condition: Used - Working
Includes: Console-Only
This console exhibits yellowing and wear. No visible cracks or damage to the case from abuse. Slight yellowing. There is a sticker on the bottom of the console (only half-attached?) that shows the serial number listed above (see photo). I peeled the sticker back and found that the unit has yellowed around it, indicating that it has been attached for some time.
I bought this used and do not know its history. I have not opened it, but assume that everything is stock.

It didn't take long for that to happen. Ah well. My 7800 Ballblazer is in nice condition, so I didn't want to sacrifice it...but....I do have the 5200 Ballblazer....and that DK is kind of a necessity.... Le Sigh...

I'll be totally honest... I need a cart with a POKEY chip to send to TP392 for Donkey Kong PK.Loose is probably best.Condition doesn't matter, as long as it works.Never mind!

The Best Electronics replacement (gold) circuits and buttons are the way to go, BUT...
..I've tremendously good luck using tin tape, a pencil eraser, and a paper punch.
1) Clean the flex circuit contacts with the pencil eraser...be gentle.
2) Clean the carbon contacts of the rubber buttons with alcohol.
3) Use the three hole punch to make new metal contacts. One punched out, remove the paper backing and stick it to the carbon dot.
4) Ressemble the controller.
I prefer the updated Best fire buttons, as they really do offer better tactile feedback, but I have had really good luck using this hack.

I'm so sorry! I did not mean to post this twice. I am posting from a phone (Tapatalk), and it's an awful experience.

I am looking for a 2 port deck in good cosmetic condition. If it is in the box, that's even better. I don't really need controllers, games, cords, or adapters. I recently purchased one from ePay, and it arrived smashed. The board works, but there's (almost literally) no case.
Anyhow, let me know what you've got! Many thanks!

What is it about this whole dig that feels so perverse?

I've been playing a whole lot more than usual lately. Posting about it makes me feel like I accomplished something...helping me feel like the time wasn't completely wasted...I keep getting these pangs of guilt associated with time playing lately...
