  1. Dang! It's been almost 5 years, since I was last active here. A tremendous amount of significant events have occurred since then. I feel like it will take a year to catch up! I'm particularly curious about the Coleco drama! Oye!

  2. The Best Electronics replacement (gold) circuits and buttons are the way to go, BUT... ..I've tremendously good luck using tin tape, a pencil eraser, and a paper punch. 1) Clean the flex circuit contacts with the pencil eraser...be gentle. 2) Clean the carbon contacts of the rubber buttons with alcohol. 3) Use the three hole punch to make new metal contacts. One punched out, remove the paper backing and stick it to the carbon dot. 4) Ressemble the controller. I prefer the updated Best fire buttons, as they really do offer better tactile feedback, but I have had really good luck using this hack.
  3. I'm so sorry! I did not mean to post this twice. I am posting from a phone (Tapatalk), and it's an awful experience.
  4. I am looking for a 2 port deck in good cosmetic condition. If it is in the box, that's even better. I don't really need controllers, games, cords, or adapters. I recently purchased one from ePay, and it arrived smashed. The board works, but there's (almost literally) no case. Anyhow, let me know what you've got! Many thanks!
  5. What is it about this whole dig that feels so perverse?
  6. Persona 4 Golden (PS Vita) Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii) Okami (PS2)
  7. Okami (Playstation 2) Secret of Mana (SNES) Dr. Mario (NES) I've been playing a whole lot more than usual lately. Posting about it makes me feel like I accomplished something...helping me feel like the time wasn't completely wasted...I keep getting these pangs of guilt associated with time playing lately...
  8. Super Mario RPG (SNES) Little Big Planet (PS3) Metroid (NES)
  9. Thanks, Stan! I cannot for the life of me, however, find any other serial number than what's at the bottom of the console. Should the box have one somewhere? I can't find it :-/
  10. I bought this "NEW" from Best Electronics a few years ago. So, the instructions and switchbox may not actually be original. The box and console, however, definitely are. In the picture you'll see two copies of Solaris. Only one is included (one is actually just an empty box, and I wasn't paying attention when spreading the stuff out on the table). NIB (shrinkwrapped): Gravitar Venture Solaris Secret Quest Super Football is CIB and RealSports Football just the cart and box (in used condition). There is no AC adapter included. Please observe the pictures for cosmetic condition of the box. It's in very good shape to my eyes, but..well..you know...some people are real persnickety, and I don't want anybody disappointed. I had never used this system, but I couldn't sell it without testing it. So, it has less than ten minutes of use (and I didn't uncoil the joystick when I tested it). The plastic has not been removed from the metal portion. SOLD
  11. Everything is in perfect working order. I have collected these consoles over the years and hoarded boxed games, as I came across them. It's time to clean house, though. Light Sixer unit is in perfect shape, working and cosmetically, with the exception of two of the black foam pieces being missing from atop the last two switches (see picture). I took this apart to clean the potentiometer on the main board to fix a color stability issue and lost them in the process :-( After-market AC adapter is included as well as two working CX-40s and working paddle controllers. NIB Games Include: Galaxian Dig Dug (shrinkwrapped) Joust (shrinkwrapped) Jungle Hunt (shrinkwrapped) Kangaroo (shrinkwrapped) Pole Position (shrinkwrapped) Battlezone and RealSports Baseball are CIB, but have been opened. Football is cart and box only (used condition) $85, shipped Has now been moved to eBay. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 190818730994
  12. I updated the listing again, as I was able to find manuals for all of the boxed games (in addition to the manual for the Pro Wrestling box...I'm not sure whatever happened to that cart...) Stan: I was avoiding separating to keep things a decent deal. However, I could be convinced otherwise . Feel free to make an offer.
  13. This is an honest-to-goodness Heavy Sixer inside and out (the characteristic switch plate, channel select hole but no switch, the extra "stuff" soldered to the board near the power switch, etc). Everything works superbly. Lot includes the console, gray AC adapter, TWO WORKING CX-10 joysticks, original paddles (see picture), original game caddy (label missing-see picture), and TV switch box. Games include: Breakout Video Olympics Outlaw Space Invaders Home Run Basketball Combat $125, shipped Moved to eBay eBay Auction -- Item Number: 190818737694
  14. Added photos of the actual items for sale.
  15. All of these games have been tested and work very well! All of the game boxes, unless noted, are in very, very good cosmetic condition. All labels are in very good condition as well, unless noted. Some carts have stickers on the back that can probably be removed easily (old Funcoland or video store). Unless noted, though, there is no writing and no permanent modification. One last thing: every standard cartridge, with the exception of one, includes the black plastic sleeve. The Tengen games and the odd-balls (you'll know which ones, as they don't say, "with sleeve") do not, however, as they weren't originally shipped with them. Back to the Future CIB Baseball CIB Bases Loaded II with sleeve Bayou Billy CIB Blades of Steel w/ Box and sleeve Double Dribble w/ sleeve (5-screw) Dragon Warrior with sleeve Fester’s Quest w/ manual and sleeve Ghosts ‘n Goblins and sleeve sleeve Hogan’s Alley and sleeve (5-screw) Indiana Jones (Tengen) Krazy Kreatures Kung Fu CIB (5-screw) Muppet Adventure “Chaos at the Carnival” with sleeve(Split case) Nightshade w/ manual and sleeve Platoon w/ sleeve R.B.I. Baseball (Tengen) Rollerblade Racer w/ sleeve Shadowgate w/ sleeve Skate or Die w/ sleeve T & C Surf Designs CIB Techmo Bowl w/sleeve The Mafat Conspiracy CIB (creases, wear, stickers, no sleeve in box) The Three Stooges CIB Top Gun w/ sleeve Win, Lose, or Draw w/ sleeve (rattles) All Cartridges, shipped: $70 Moved to eBay
  16. Road Rash (Game Gear) Super Mario RPG (SNES) Castlevania Bloodlines (Genesis)
  17. So, the seller didn't actually have as many Game Gears as they had thought. After a week of waiting...and...nothing...they refunded the fees. So, I only ended up with the original model purchased a couple of weeks ago. That's okay, though! For the record (because I think somebody asked me to keep track of it), the Majesco model got 17 hours of battery life out of six rechargeable Rayovac NiMH batteries (after the LED mod). That was over the course of ten consecutive days without a recharge...playing with sound and brightness set to 3/4 of the way. That's slightly less than what I got with the LED modded Sega model with the same set of batteries, but the life of these tends to fluctuate quite a bit. Not bad, I say! :-)
  18. I'm selling off my entire SMS collection. Everything pictured (except for one...see details below) is of the actual items for sale. There's not a whole lot that needs describing. The system is boxed and complete. Though not absolutely perfect, it still has the plastic film over the detailing, as does the light gun. Both controllers are included, as is the AC adapter, RF adapter, and antenna transformers. All pieces are original. An additional light gun is included and is pictured below. The system has Hang On and Jungle Hunt built into the ROM (so, they boot when no game is inserted). Instructions for those games are included with the boxed system. The box is in decent shape. There are a couple of tears and writing on one flap, all of which can be seen in the photos. CIB games include (meaning the cart, box, and manual are included): Ghostbusters Global Defense Golden Axe Warrior Out Run Phantasy Star Pro Wrestling Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap The following games are boxed, but do not include manuals (be sure to look at all angles for condition, as a couple are not perfect): Alien Syndrome Penguin Land Rampage Space Harrier 3-D Zillion II One Loose Game: After Burner As some of you know, I'm in the midst of moving. In the process, I forgot to grab the control stick for this "photo shoot." The picture of that item is stock from the web, but it is exactly what is included in this set (CIB, great condition all-around). $300, shipped anywhere in the United States
  19. Fewer things infuriate me more than to see attempts to 'flip' this stuff. Granted, I understand that trends can make certain markets more collectable than others, I hate seeing people attempt to rip other people off. So, this thread sort of immortalizes that I paid $60 for those boxed Majescos. They will never be sold for any more than that...if I can even part with them. Doing the backlight mod has had some disadvantages that weren't noticeable on the older unit that I had updated last week. The contrast that was so sharp, and the colors that looked so deep are now a bit washed out: almost like there is too much light. I'll continue to fiddle around, and I'll post a solution somewhere when I eventually find one. This makes me confident that I will probably keep a unit at home to run off the mains (as stock) and the LED modded system for on-the-go (not there are THAT many hours in the day to play anyhow). I don't think I'd care so much, if I weren't in the position that I'm currently in: needing to downsize. Living alone, having an entire room full of consoles and CRT screens was a cool commodity. The process of combing two households, though, has made me look like some sort of juvenile hoarder. So, if I can get my vintage game compulsivity out in this Game Gear conquest, so be it. That was long and meandered off topic....sorry about that :-p
  20. If it were an early run, I wouldn't pay more than $15. That new screen, though, really is amazing.
  21. I totally forgot about this post and should probably update it. I had beggars’ remorse and decided to save my pennies. I really appreciate the responses, though!
  22. That's really strange! There were 11 available, before I bought the other two. I see now that that listing is closed. I'm sorry! Now I feel like a jerk :-( . I ordered them out of panick/shock/surprise/glee. I was successful in updating the backlight of the Majesco that came in a few days ago. I was worried, as the mainboard looked a lot like the VA4, an iteration that I have never had any luck with. Since it worked, odds are I'll sell off one of units that's on its way. I don't really see a reason to keep two unopened consoles. I am a big believer in using what you have and spreading the wealth, so I'll keep you posted. I just feel terribly about posting about something that ended up being pulled...unless I just completely misread the listing.
