  1. thinks that on a basic 1-10 scale, 1 being worst and 10 being best, today is a SUCK...

I completely agree with that. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for both of us.

It'll be a day off for me, and I plan on loving it ;-). I hope that yours shapes up well!

  2. can't handle slow-talkers or mouth-breathers today...

Slow talkers are the worst. A guy from my bank called the other day who was one and after 10 seconds I told him to get to the point or I'm hanging up, he didn't and I did.

I do casework so I see ST'' & MB's ALL the time. It's also bad when they just finished eating a sh!* sandwhich and want to talk to you all day.

  3. misses a time (not so long ago) when he could post really cryptic things on Facebook, and no one would bat an eye or take it too seriously. Perhaps they did bat an eye, though, and I'm just now old enough to realize how counter-productive that kind of thing can be.

Personally, I miss the days before Facebook.

  4. wants to thank Conor Engelbrecht for sending 24 text messages to his mobile phone today....jerk ;-)

  5. left his phone at home today. Liberated? Perhaps...

  6. I was able to get a complete set of the comics from a flea market in college (probably in 2003 or so). I don't remember what I paid, but it was under $10 (because all I had was a ten spot on me)...
  7. My dad worked for a toy distributer in the late 1970s. Just before I was born, they were given a VCS as a corporate Christmas present. I think that was 1978. It lasted until about 1990, when our basement was flooded. Dad threw it out, while I was at school. I spent the next five years looking for one (with all of the means that an elementary school student has), and I eventually found one at a local church's rummage sale. $20 bought me a Vader, 30 games, 3 joysticks (but no paddles), the AC adapter and switchbox, and one of those Game Center things to keep it in. I've had (at least) one in my possession ever since (that was probably 17 or 18 years ago).
  8. is thrilled! He just found out that a coworker is friends with the people who blew up their garage. It turns out that they're not meth cooks at all, but are just hillbillies with little respect for fire safety.

Dare I ask what happened? :)

On Saturday, there was a very loud explosion across the street. An all-metal two car garage had exploded. After everything was addressed with the fire department, it was apparent that there were no cars in the garage. The local newspaper reported that a significant number of propane tanks were found on site, and suggested that they could have been used to transport anhydrous ammonia. Scary stuff....

  9. is happy that the garage that exploded next door isn't a result of a meth lab gone awry...

Unless it was caused by a gas explosion.

  10. I puchased a heavy sixer from this gentleman. Communication was excellent, and the transaction went smoothly. Thanks for a great experience!
  11. Um, this is a really old thread made when I first joined. If you look at my post above, you can see what happened in the after months. Age didn't seem to be an issue, when you updated it
  12. Maybe she's pregg...and now I have to edit this post, as I didn't read the others thoroughly...ARG
  13. I don't remember anyone being confused by Sega's ad-ons. As kids, we ENVIED anyone whose parents had plunked down the cash for those things. Sega never introduced an ad-on, while dropping support for another. That simply didn't happen. I am sick to DEATH of this dead horse....
  14. I love seeing the old pricetags left on these games. And yes... incredible what some of the rarest games once sold for on clearance. I totally do not remember Laser Gates back in the day. It was another one of those games I never even knew existed for the 2600 until the mid 90's. Hindsight being 20/20, we'd all be that much better off Good luck with the sales Carey85. Great stuff you've got there! If Laser Gates would have been well-known (and not been a clearance-clunker), it wouldn't be rare
  15. Yes its got composite, the red white and yellow connectors To be perfectly honest with you, I thought the picture quality from the Wii was FAR superior on my old Sony Trinitron than on my LCD display. I'm sure that with component video, though, it could be a different story. The picture quality with the supplied composite video cable is very good on a CRT display.
  16. He kept it for 27 years... that's awhile. I see nothing wrong with selling that thing to have some $ for his family. Obviously, it's always the owner's choice, but if that's the way he feels, that's the way he feels. Family is always first. A game is just plastic. Now the trophies... those I'd be more likely to keep, since they're personal to him. Even those, if they'd bring a lot of cash though....... flesh > plastic. Yeah, and also the Atlantis 2 contest was canceled, so what kind of a memory does that leave? Probably just disappointment. :: sighs :: nevermind
  17. You should sell it to Wonder. He will make you a good offer! Well, nothing is set in stone, yet. I can still change my original plan. Since I'm the new guy in a sea of experts, I'm willing to listen. Talk to me, Wonder. I really wish you'd keep the game, actually...at least for awhile. What a cool thing to have! It will never mean as much, once it leaves your possession. It's one thing to have the cash to buy a collectible item. It's another to be part of its history, such as yourself. I beg of you, hold onto it.
  18. is spending his Saturday night watching "The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3"....cause he's just that cool....

  20. That's not fair...remember, I'm buying it on Friday, if it's still available
  21. I couldn't find an eyeroll .gif big enough for this reply....
  22. Didn't the Odyssey 500 have three paddles per player (one for vertical, one for horizontal, and one for the ball)? We had one of these when I was little, and I'm almost positive that it did. How will the controls be emulated?
  23. Yup....I'd love a sealed copy, if possible. CIB is fine, if the box is in amazing condition...or good condition...whatever.....
  24. I'd like to see the rest of that article. I find the perspective of the day quite interesting...
  25. That doesn't sound like a very fair trade! I don't have a Coleco anyhow.... i have 2. what you have to trade.....a colecovision?
