Yep, seeing the backside of this, I am convinced that the bulge is definitely PSU related. I wonder what they needed it for. It seems a bit like stuffing a V8 into an MG.
I'd say pretty interested (FE). The delays are disappointing, but not a deal breaker. I think the ideals are laudable, but mostly I want to play games with my wife that are entertaining without copious amounts of skull-sweat (also, she genuinely hates the xbox controller).
Might be salvageable.
Depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go.
With just the pictures to go by there's every chance that the copper has corroded away underneath the conformal coating. The bubbles you are seeing are a dead giveaway of corrosion damage.
If you are feeling brave, you can gently scrape away that coating to get a good look at the traces. You might be able to get away with flowing solder along then to jump any missing spots if they're not too large. You might also desolder, remove and then re solder the DIP.
Give the deoxit a try first.
You certainly won't hear me argue that.
One of the best things about living in Texas is no shortage of hole in the wall taco places. Breakfast or otherwise.
This thread has been the absolute most entertaining thing I've read in years.
I would like to thank all who have provided many hours of laughs. ??
Ya'll are the freaking best.
Ok, I really am jealous now. Those are nice!
I am feeling motivated to give this a try for my "gameroom". Would you be willing to share any tips, tricks, and technical advice?
Truly impressive, sir.
Yep, I did win, much to my surprise. Thanks, Ernie. If y'all get a bit of time check npeaches.
On another note, cart got here great shape. My wife thought I bought more atari stuff.
