I have to agree with Osgeld. It has nothing to do with you being a woman or anyone being jealous. The fact is, you hijacked this thread and made it about you and promoting your show. In real life you may be a great person, but all I can go by, is what you typed. Calling people trolls and losers (not to mention the foul-mouthed name you called a fellow board member) because they didn't like how you hijacked the thread, is rather inappropriate and childish.
No I am NOT the one who has hijacked this thread. I replied to it with something that is very relevant to this subject matter.
Obviously the people who have replied to me negatively aren't really interested in the subject of this thread at all, they just want to put me down.
Sorry but they are trolls(they never liked me for reasons I don't even get! I never attacked them initially EVER. They've always had a bias towards me,and it's obvious it's because they are sexist),and that person also called me names so I couldn't help but reply back in that manner!
Anyways I'm just gonna ignore the negativity from now and keep talking about what matters in this thread. We are talking about Kurt Cobain here, and I am about to speak to one of his close friends. How is that hijacking? I don't get it lol. Some bigots need an excuse for their dumb hatred.
-
I can't respond to Assgeld because I got this troll blocked! But I'm sure what he is saying is predictable, just spewing a bunch of hateful nonsense out of pure jealousy.
Look no need to be negative haters here!!! Y'all should be very proud a fellow AA member is gonna speak to Krist Novoselic and ask him what types of games he and Kurt played. If some of the few haters actually met me in real life they wouldn't even be wasting their times trying to diss,I would literally give the coat off my back to someone who needs it. You can't really judge anyone on the internet until you actually meet them.
Also getting Dave Grohl on my show as well as Frances Bean Cobain! We're all gonna talk about our favorite games
It's gonna be a killer show a true video game fan should not miss.I've been corresponding with Krist on Twitter. That picture of Kurt playing 2600 is amazing btw. I'm definitely gona ask Krist what types of games they played. -
This thread just got dark in a hurry...
Why's that? It sure wasn't me that made it dark either! Sad some troll losers here need to be so unappreciative and sexist towards me.
I bet if it was a guy posting saying he was gonna interview Krist instead of me I bet y'all would be patting him on the back bigtime lol.
So Krist is my friend now and is gonna be on my show. I am alot more closer to Cobain than most people here ever would be!

I'm actually going to interview Krist Novoselic in a few weeks on my radio show!!! I'll definitely ask him about this.

I play it at the arcade alot,so arcade version all the way for me!!!
After watching the movie WarGames so many times(it stars my good friend Eddie Deezen) I like doing that trick where you get your fighter plane captured, and then when you get it back you have more firepower because now you have two fighters lol Makes the bonus levels alot easier. -
Heck no,I never wrote on any of my carts ever or anything game related for that matter. Funny a high school acquaintance once gifted me with a bunch of his old NES carts, and they got his name on em lol. Black sharpie marker. Never understood why anyone would do that but to each their own.
Not only videogame cartridges, but I find alot of name writing on 8-track tapes that I collect, and alot of the vinyl that I collect. Annoying really, but sometimes I search the names on FB to see if their still alive which is funny.

That was the C64, especially from UK programmers
Let me make this clear,I did not provide my views to argue with anyone. I didn't own a C64 so it's not relevant to me the same way as the NES is.
Pitfall 2 on VCS
Good point, and I thought of that one already as actually I played that game quite alot before the NES was released when I was little. I even interviewed David Crane on my show so I am familiar with that in my sleep. When the NES came out though,I have to say games like Metroid and Legend of Zelda seemed to raise the bar higher than what Pitfall 2 already did.
That's just my feelings and my views are not meant again to stir an argument. Whatever lol,I'm just here to have fun.

I feel we're definitely in the second golden age of the NES. The first was during the 1986-1989 era,and now during 2016-2019 it seems more popular now than ever before!!! Thanks to the NES Classic and Switch obviously.
As far as innovations goes, I'd say the NES gave gaming more depth with the ability to finish the game and see an "ending" that had more elaborate storylines than what came before it,and NES raised the bar as far as game music goes. It seems they learned from the mistakes Atari made with the 5200,and just totally improved on that too.

Okay, let me chime in here for a moment. First, I think I need to reiterate something I said the other day ...
I would add that, if someone wants to offer input on someone else's creative work, they should do so as dispassionately as possible and should critique the art and not the artist, which I think the last few posts have succeeded in doing. I also think that, when criticisms are offered in this way, the person on the receiving end should do their best to respond in the same spirit, without interpreting it as a personal attack.
Felt I had to respond to this. Good point Jaybird! but I may add it was a personal attack because their criticism was not "constructive criticism" but rather "destructive". Some people do not know the difference!
Constructive criticism is the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one.
Just wondering why some posters here need to be unfriendly and oppositional towards me instead of being friendly. I've done nuthin' to you!!! I'm all about love and havin fun here not arguing and feeling the arrogant need to attack someone else's pride. You got nothin friendly to say or react then back the f-ck off this thread. Naysayers ain't sh-t compared to my game btw haha! Sorry to dig this up again but felt I had to express this. If you knew me in real life you'd know I'm cool. My heart is open to be anyone's friend. That being said I do forgive some of the trolls who have chimed in,but they are not welcome on this thread.
Anyways I also wanted to bump this because there's gonna be a sequel on NES!
:) This time I am designing it mostly myself. And there's gonna be versions for the Vectrex and 5200,thanks. -
I own one these games and rather enjoy it. Also I think the artwork is just fine, the game play is pretty good as well. As for as someone saying people would rather the artwork be better than the game play are you serious ? I have been a classic gamer since the beginning of ATARI & INTELLIVISION and even though some artwork is better than others I much rather have great game play and that is why I prefer the Intellivision & the 7800 over the 2600 because most 2600 games do have great artwork but most original 2600 games suck to play. Do not get me wrong there are some great classics on the 2600 like Frogger, Qbert, Popeye, and most games made by Activision and Imagic but the ones made by Atari itself not so many good ones there. so now attack my post attack my handle (which is original and not stolen from a TV show or cartoon like some people on here ) I really do not care because this is my opinion and I have stated it and now goodbye again.
Haha thanks for your thoughts! And thanks for purchasing the game!!
:)Finally an honest answer and not a trolling one. I figured some people are super jealous of my game, but screw em. I didn't come here to argue dammit,I'm here to have fun. I don't really care if anyone thinks of it negatively whatever, just don't troll on me here. It's been nice to hear people who have been buying my game have been really enjoying it though, and I guess that's all that matters. I honestly do not think my art is bad,and again if anybody doesn't like it? Well screw em and find something else that you like better then. Whenever something gets popular,it gets attacked plain and simple. Actually I've been drawing the anime style for many years, and have even released my own comic book last year.
Actually the label art and game is based off of my webcomic that is based on my radio show...

Btw the game has been back up for sale too! The last batch sold very quick and our auction is getting so many views an hour...

We've sold plenty of copies so far lol. Some people even telling me it's the best 7800 game they've played in a longtime.

Not sure if I posted this one already here, but here's my radio interview with veteran game programmer Howard Scott Warshaw!

Also made a video lately of my first interview with Nolan Bushnell, but thought to share this one first. It was a huge honor speaking to him. I still hear from him every now and again too. Was playing Yar's earlier alot today and thought I should share this one.

After eating some turkey leftovers and drinking eggnog with Jagermeister I suddenly found myself immersed into some NEC PC Engine and SG-1000 games!!!
Shinobi (NEC PC Engine)
City Hunter (NEC PC Engine) .............. this game sucks lol at least to me it does. It's based on the anime but the game is a pedestrian Rolling Thunder.
Star Force (SG-1000) ............ my new favorite shooter!

MAGIC SWORD:HEROIC FANTASY (COIN-OP) ................ Some of the best graphics ever created imo. Some of the most stunning backgrounds are in this game,it's a trip lol,and I love the ninja character. It's a masterpiece.
COLUMNS (COIN-OP)............... Love the Genny version as well.
MUNCHER (BALLY ASTROCADE) .............. Gonna play this after this post. Addictive maze game.

Cool thread! I've been on a little golf bender lately actually lol.
Really into the Golden Tee coin-op series.... I once rehearsed in a music studio that had a Golden Tee 2K arcade cab even.
Really love the Tiger Woods PGA PS2 series a whole lot also because you can create your own character, and the controls are really
good in that. Love the NES Golf game as well of course. One thing I'd love to see is a golf game that's based on real miniature golf courses,or maybe
there's already a game like that I'm not aware of?
-
BALTRON (VIA 400-IN-1 MULTICART) (NES) ..................... Interesting game that's like a mashup of Defender and Gradius.
MORTAL KOMBAT (COIN-OP) ........... Getting alot better using Sonya, been praticing! lol
PUZZLE BOBBLE 4 (NEOGEO) ........ Beat the game today!!!!!!!

Wow. This makes me think of the radio interview I did with Pitfall creator David Crane back in 2015. Heard it again on my station the other night and David mentioned about the Crash.
Told me at least on a positive note it did make a whole lot of games alot more cheaper.
-
I'll never forget the hype surrounding Mario 3. It was massive. Just that one game every kid had to have back in 1990!! lol
Glad I have two copies now,one loose and the other still boxed.
I only beat it one time. That last level is tough as nails!!!!!!
-
My mom wasn't a gamer(never seen her ever play a game ever),but she did introduce the Atari 2600 to me and my sister.
I remember my dad liked playing Donkey Kong and Moon Patrol the arcade games a longtime ago,but he wasn't a big video game fan in general. My dad
did work in Silicon Valley during the 80's and even majored in computer science. He liked a few games off the Atari 2600,only Robot Tank,Combat, and
Commando Raid. Top Gun the NES game he liked as well, but other than that I remember my dad hating video gaming mostly lol.
-
8 EYES (NES) .... Interesting game, but feels like a cheap ripoff of Castlevania.
720 (NES) ..... an okay port of the arcade but got boring quick.
PINBALL ACTION (COIN-OP) ..... Great pinball arcade game!!! Good graphics and controls.

Kurt Cobain playing GameBoy
in Classic Console Discussion
Posted
That's a really good question, now you got me wondering where it is now too.
haha that's funny.. Love the setlist on the plate,it's from the Bleach era of Nirvana, one of their best albums!!
I also interviewed Chad Channing the drummer of that album. He also played on Nevermind on the song Polly. I recently got the Nevermind longbox CD along with the Weird Al parody...
Dave Grohl is definitely a gamer too I think! Wonder if this is Kurt's GameBoy he borrowed lol. Also wondering what PS1 games he has. I read Layne Staley of Alice in Chains was a huge PS2 and Metal Gear Solid fan also. Anyways can't wait to ask Krist on my podcast what types of systems he was into,etc...
