  1. Hyperscan sounds like a great concept, but the minimal library of poor quality games is what kills it.

I was gonna give it a chance because I do like the concept of trading cards with games, but the way they've executed it was very half assed.

Looking into it,the games suck for Hyperscan!!!! LOL Not even one good game for the thing, they're all garbage.

The console itself looks like a freaking supermarket checkout line scanner LOL :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

  3. If I had played NES Spy Hunter before trying the arcade... I think I would like it better, but that wasn't the case really.

Sorry opinions. I just think it's a very boring arcade port, and the graphics are not as good compared to the arcade.

On the bright side, there is that glitch in NES Spy Hunter where you can drive along the side of the road throughout the whole game lol. I think that's the only fun part of it.

There are great arcade ports for the NES though, but imo they are few,far and between. Gauntlet 2 for the NES is an excellent port imo.. It's way better than the Tengen Gauntlet, and more closer to the actual arcade. The only thing missing in Gauntlet 2 for NES is the thief character, but other than that it's very close.

  4.

To be fair, I don't think that arcade Spy Hunter has an ending either. It's about getting a high score.

At least the arcade version has that bad ass controller.

Yea I already know the arcade doesn't have an ending(most of those early arcade games didn't obviously),but what makes it more superior to the NES port are the much more excellent graphics and sound which makes that kind of gameplay more tolerable.

The NES version is complete garbage compared to the original arcade! I find that to be the case with alot of NES ports such as Gauntlet. Most of them are just inferior versions of the arcade that lacks what made the arcade versions so special. Just my opinion though.. I really always felt Spy Hunter was the worst release by Sunsoft.

  5. Haha, I never liked the NES port of Spy Hunter, that game sucks!!!! lol Just my opinion though. I'll never forget how disappointed I was the first time I tried it,and how boring it is compared to the arcade. No ending either. Just meanders and is just very repetitive.

But did you beat RC Pro-Am?

That's a much harder game than Ninja Gaiden, IMO. Or maybe it's just that I'm good at NG, but suck at RC Pro-Am.

Cobra Triangle is also really tough. I've made it to near the end but never beat it. I can't do that third mines stage.

Never beat it lol. I agree it is one of the super hardest NES games ever. I have beaten Ninja Gaiden more than once... The whirlwind weapon is how you beat the final boss!

Never beat Top Gun either, but I know how to land the plane while drunk.

  6.

I sincerely hope you're not saying my comment was either of those things. If you knew anything about me, you'd know I was about as far from either of those things as anyone gets. I was making a joke about being 20 years older than the OP, when he's already worried about being "old" at age 25. And I don't think it's a stretch to say that most others in this forum are about my same age.

I feel like what's making forums a dying breed is people taking offense to things they shouldn't.

Haha no I am not offended in general, but making the assumption that most people who post here are over 40 years old is kinda ignorant.

Actually what makes forums a dying breed imo, is that whole status quo "cliquey" mentality people develop on forums. Then when someone doesn't agree with

their mentality or calls them out, then that person gets ganged up upon by a bunch of "know-it-alls".

Lol I think that is lame!!!! And if forums want to survive ,that mentality needs to go. And yes sexism does exist on this website, and also other forums as well. (Something I hope will change! Because there are women like me who are very passionate about games) .Funny people will ignore that fact, but honestly I've had some rather disrespectful sexist remarks thrown at me well within the last 6 months here, and I didn't say anything to trigger such responses other than expressing my love and knowledge of videogames, and I happen to be close friends with Nolan Bushnell thank you very much!!! :) If I post on my status saying I'm gonna interview Nolan soon(which I am btw),I get mostly weird jealous trollish type responses, but if someone else(who is male) posts the same status as me they get all the respect in the world,go figure.

You realize you're hanging out here with a bunch of old geezers, right?

I disagree. Not everyone here is old. I'm not even 40 yet for crying out loud!!!!

Ageist(and even Sexist) remarks and assumptions are why forums are a dying breed IMO.

Anyways I don't mean to feed this troll thread lol, just saying....

Video game skills are like riding a bicycle also. You will never forget unless you just flatout suck at games to begin with.

  8. Heh, I'm glad I don't play for the graphics. Don't get me wrong, graphics are nice, but if a game is worthwhile to play to start with, then the graphics aren't to important. Many of my favorite modern games aren't good looking to start with. When portal came out, I was all over that. It was never a particular pretty game, even new, but I still play it. Minecrack? Yep, play that. Indy games? Got some of those.

It must suck to follow graphics, cause your have to forever change games to follow the next pretty thing. Youd never get to actually enjoy the game. Add to that so many games that look great actually aren't that good.

I agree. Some games have great looking graphics, but the gameplay stinks. Which is why I am not so much a fan of alot of modern type 3D games. They look nice, but gameplay wise they're boring.

  9. I've just played Super Cobra (Coleco) for a bit and pondered the wisdom of destroying fuel sources in order to refuel your craft. It's an undeniably fun mechanic (and a vg trope of course) , but explaining it requires some seriously convoluted mental gymnastics. Quantum bombs which don't really explode but suck the fuel out and direct it to your craft thorough a multidimensional wormhole is the closest one I came to.

Videogames are obviously littered with such amusing conundrums. What's your favourite one?

Hehe, I love it how in alot of fighting games you can find food powerups in the strangest places where they wouldn't be in real life. Like in Streets of Rage 2 for example ,it's so funny when you can kick a garbage can over and find a fully cooked roasted turkey underneath! :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :lolblue:
