  1. I don't remember those!!! They look really cool. What I do remember are those really cool Donkey Kong and Pac-man trading cards/stickers that Topps used to make. I loved those, especially the Pac-man scratcher games. It was like lotto ticket but it was based on the games. That and Garbage Pail Kids were the bomb.
  2. LOL!! Nerdy Turd is gross. I think the AVGN is adorable *swoon* but I don't get his obsession with poo jokes sometimes. I love how his house looks tho,so many games.. That episode makes me actually want to own an Odyssey 1. Seriously I think that Haunted House game actually looks cool. For 1972 that's not bad. Considering the kinds of mind altering substances people were taking in those days too, I bet the Odyssey was kinda cool in the old days.
  3. Okay I'm gonna stop fidgeting around with it. I just sent that Ebay seller a message. Think I'll just buy the one from the link that you showed. If that weird cable has nothing to do with the computer, then I wonder why the person I bought it from even put it in the box in the first place!? btw the computer came with the original box. So what are the odds of this actually working???
  4. BNC Coupler!?!? Is that what the cable I'm holding is??? Here's a more clear pic of it....the other end connects to the computer and then the wire splits up into 3...I connected the grey one into my PC's line in and that's how I can hear the computer make sounds... As you can see it does power up..... So I have to get a Video Composite cable??????? Think anybody here can spare one of those??? I have some Atari joysticks I can trade for it . Or does Radio Shack have that???? I just hate having to deal with Ebay.
  5. I just got an old Texas Intruments computer but it did'nt come with the RF box that hooks up to the tv. Out of curiosity I connected one of the cables to my PC and when I turned on the TI-99 4a, I can hear some beeps and blips but I doubt I'll ever get a picture on my monitor. I don't know much about technical stuff. How can I make this thing work????? I know I might need to buy a new RF box(anyone got one to spare????I have a few spare Atari 2600 games and controllers I can trade) but I don't know where to start. I have'nt played this console since like the 80's. I just hope it works.....the games I got with it are Parsec,Blasto, The Attack,Tombstone City,Moon Patrol,TI Invaders and 2 educational type games. !?!?!?!?!? Where the hell does this connect to????
  6. Hmmm the Haunted House game actually looks really cool. Wish he would do a review on the Vectrex My favorite AVGN episode lately is the Nintendo Power one. That one was really really funny.
  7. Ooh that looks really nice..... wish they made more R.O.B. games. Gyromite is kinda boring.
  8. Thought I should showoff what I bought yesterday. Someone on CL sold me all of her Atari stuff(she told me she just recently bought a Wii and a new tv set,and thinks the Atari would'nt work on her tv.)...that's alright because now this is mine: . I got all this for just...20 dollars!!!!!! Gee I think she has no idea about how much all this might be worth. I got 2 wireless controllers w the original box, 7 regular controllers,1 Paddle controller, a 4-switch 2600 with the original box, a bunch of manuals and 26 games (although 3 of them are Coleco,2 Pacman copies,2 Asteroids, and 1 Defender w box,2 empty boxes). And everything works...except River Raid is broken. Have'nt played 2600 in a longtime too. Fast Food is a funny game. "You're Getting Fatter!" lol
  9. Ohh how 'relevant' can one be talking about Ms.Pacman???? Sorry if my post was'nt nerdy enough lol. I've played the 5200 version and well, it's no where near as good as the one I mentioned.
  10. One of the first games I got for NES was Clu Clu Land. That game was so fun.I had growing up Excitebike, Mickey Mousecapade, Galaga,Super Mario 2,Stinger.... My older brother had all the games tho.... Mach Rider, Mega Man 1, Kid Niki, Zelda 1 &2, Karnov,etc..... I love Nintendo.
  11. I was never good at E.T.for 2600. Keep falling and stuff
  12. Yes that's the Deluxe Set!!!! Back in '87 I remember that cost 140 dollars(very expensive for that time)....my family settled for an Action Set that came with Super Mario Bros. and 2 controllers .
  13. Thank you for your irrelevant contribution. Hey you're very welcome!!!! We're talking about Ms.Pacman right???? Just my opinions....
  14. Had one from early 1987 through 1995.... even owned a spare one my cousin gave me since they got one of those tv sets with the built-in NES. For some reason left both the NES systems behind when my family moved to Florida in '95. Three years later in '98 I bought one personally for myself at Funcoland and still have that til now. My game collection has been growing....so far I've got 72 games and still counting...
  15. I just found a Super NES w 2 games for 20 dollars on Craigslist.....also found a Modded original X-box w 2 controllers for 50..... which one is more worth it??? I already wrote to the Super NES one, hope they write back
  16. I think the Jaxx TV Games version of Ms.Pacman is the best ....just like the arcade! So good I don't feel like buying the 5200 one It even has Pole Position.
  17. I thought Famicom came out in '83 in Japan?? Systems I'd like to get next are : Vectrex Neo Geo AES Sega Saturn Turbo Grafx Express X-Box (the original) Sega Nomad (handheld version of Genesis) Super Famicom Fairchild Channel F NES 8-bit Top loader Nintendo Wii Texas Instruments TI-99 4A w voice synth, Monitor, and hard drive Apple Lisa Atari 2600 6-switch (still in the process )
  18. Ooh that looks sweet!
  19. I say it's worth it!!! I bought my Atari 5200 2port for 60 dollars on Ebay that came with only 2 games(no boxes), 2 controllers( 1 works but the other is broken)...... I still don't regret buying that at that price even tho I knew I could have gotten a better deal. 5200 rocks,so glad I got it and by now I've got a bunch of games... and if you find one that works why not??and 10 games with the boxes?! I say go for it....
  20. That port of Gauntlet (from Mindscape) for the NES was actually a pretty accurate one if memory serves. Yeah Gauntlet 2 by Mindscape ( not the first one by Tengen) is really alot like the arcade imo. They did a really good job getting the voices down right and the graphics are'nt that bad....prolly the best version of Gauntlet I've played on NES... This thread makes me think, growing up I never spent any money on videogames ...I was always lucky to have an older brother who was really into videogames and always had the newest system. I remember my bro bought the N64 the day it came out....same with Dreamcast, had it the day it came out.... it really also helped that my older brother also used to be a game tester for Sony when PS 1 cameout(serious, his name is in alot of game credits..)... he used to bring home the newest games too, some games that were'nt even out yet at that time. One of the most underrated(and misunderstood) games I've played on PS 1 was Tales of the Sun lol Got to play the prototype of it too..also knew someone who used to be a gametester for Sega back earlier this decade.
  21. Yes that song on Pitfall 2 is a catchy little tune... I love the little cowbells in it lol...and then it gets all sad when you touch a frog lol.... other videogame songs I love: Rock and Roll Racing.....basically just midi versions of Black Sabbath and Deep Purple songs Sonic 1 .....especially the song during the bonus stages, very psychedelic Metroid..... Norfair Area theme, sounds really creepy and sci-fi Legendary Wings.... especially level 3, sounds kinda like Pink Floyd Tiger Heli.... sounds kinda like Iron Maiden lol Gauntlet 2.... the title music is soo cool.... Double Dragon....although I think this game is a bit cheesey story wise(I mean why does the girl have to get get punched in the stomach???), it's got good music Ghost n Goblins....final stage Road Rash 1..... I mean it's got Soundgarden and Monster Magnet music, pretty good music for a videogame...
  22. I remember I used to have a Nintendo Game and Watch Snoopy Tennis a longtime ago and let my older sister borrow it. She took it to school and then came back with it totally broken. The screen was crushed and there was LCD liquid coming out. Really made me mad, she accidently put it in her desk and when she closed her desk it accidently crushed it . After that I kinda forgot about it,but I remember that was a really fun game.
  23. Ever found a game that you did'nt like the gameplay so much but liked the music better??? I love the music on Castlevania 2:Simon's Quest ...even tho I get really bored playing that game . I just put that game in just to listen to the music lol. I also like the music on Ikari Warriors 2,even tho it looks kinda crappy. The song in Mr.Do's Castle gets stuck in my head alot too.
  24. Back in 2000 I found a TurboGrafx Express handheld with like 15 games in my mom's garage,it belonged to my older brother and he put it away in a box and forgotten all about it.At that time I never knew they made one but just like Gameboy but in colour. I thought wow this is sooo cool!! My brother let me have it but I ended up selling it a 4 months later for 200 bucks to get a some new shoes looking back I wish I still have it now.... Alien Crush was such a good game.
