I remember making it up to level 210 in Gauntlet 2 with my boyfriend from that time. He kept insisting there's an ending to that game(yeah right!),but to me it just keeps going and going.We killed a few dragons but it just got so boring... I had to pull the plug on my bf because he did'nt want to turn it off lol Hell I did'nt want my NES to overheat dang. Second game I ever bought was Metroid....last game I bought was Zelda 1 I found at the thrift store recently for just 3 bucks. I'm too lazy to beat it. Made it up to level 8 tho.

The first videogame I ever bought with my own money was Gauntlet 2 for the NES in '98, along with my first NES system. I still have both.

I agree, alot of the best games I doubt were made by druggies. Prolly some of worst games were made while they were stoned tho lol.... like Ghostbusters for NES. I always think they had to be on crack to make a game that bad.

I read this book called the History of Video Games and they talk about how some people working at Atari were total stoners. Something weird like they used to throw these wild parties and have like wet t-shirt contests or something. I saw that movie about Steve Jobs and the part when he does acid was kinda funny. They portrayed him as a real a-hole tho,total womanizer type. Bill Gates did'nt do drugs tho and I don't think anyone at Nintendo did either.

Wow I have'nt played this game in like over ten years..... I used to love kicking people's butts using Chun-Li. Windmill kick all the time. I like the turbo edition because there's more moves and it's faster.

I think it's funny some NES games have sounds similar to Atari like Bible Buffet

I remember that game came with special controllers....I have Arkanoid too but unfortunately lost those controllers long ago.

No I know what a Vectrex is it must be very obscure because in the early 90's my cousin had a television set that had an NES built into it,kinda like those tv's with the vcr's but instead it was NES and it came with the traditional controllers but they were painted black.That's the first thing I thought when I read the thread toopic.Sorry I did'nt really know what you guys were really talking about until I looked at the link. I never knew Nintendo made TV games...I knew they made Game and Watch but not anything like single game type consoles. Gosh I learn something new by reading this site alot of technical inventions I was never aware of.

The NES Gauntlet 1 was really crappy. The second one on the NES was good actually... maybe it would'nt look so good on the 5200 afterall. There are two buttons on my controller that are broken tho. Can't seem to get the Pause and Reset buttons working no matter how much I clean it out. Everything else works tho...

The top of my NES is a bit yellow....dang ever since i got an Atari i've been lazy to clean it

I've always called them Ghosts but knew people who called them Monsters too... I always trip off that one intermission in Pac-man for 5200,during the key levels where Blinky looks like he turned into a slug and crawls on the floor. That actually creeped me out when I was little lol. Maybe they are Monsters?? I always wonder if there's any intermissions I have'nt seen yet. How far does that game go?? I made it very far the other night,the later levels are a trip because you can eat a power pellet and the ghost-mosters would stay frightened throughout the whole level.

This Mario Bros commercial is funny.. I love those 'How to Beat 5200' videos too...I would've never figured out how to play Star Raiders if I did'nt watch that.

THANKS Yeah I always think Gauntlet would be fun on Atari. Speaking of the controllers, last night I played through a few games and did'nt have any problems. I have to say about one thing about these controllers, the feel of them is quite nostalgic. I like how there's a little grip thingy on top of the joystick and works really good for games like Pac-man and Dig Dug. Plus using the keypad for Star Raiders is alot of fun. I'd have to say it does look like a telephone tho lol.

My favorite Genesis games are: Golden Axe 2 Sonic 1 Rock n Roll Racing Phantasy Star 2 Street Fighter 2:Championship Edition Columns Test Drive 2 Sega CD: Sonic CD Time Gal ( I looove that game, I don't care if people say it sucks) Sega Saturn: Space Harrier Dark Stalkers I never liked the 32x tho.

My vote is also for Atari 5200 I was playing it last night after a week of not playing and definitely that Centipede on 5200 is just like the arcade. NES was'nt that great edit - actually Gauntlet 2 on NES is'nt bad....they got the voices down on that really good except two of the characters has the wrong voice lol

I used to have a copy of Beany Bopper! I might still have it around actually,I just have to look in my things. I also like Deadly Duck from the same makers of Beany Bopper, both good games. If you think Circus Atari is good try Deadly Duck, it's kinda like Circus but crazier. edit- actually it's kinda like Space Invaders too

Of course it's not sexy to you, but to a guy it is extremely sexy. Look at reruns of The Facts of Life. Blair was clearly hotter but every 80's kid liked Jo better. Why? Because she was tough and the type of girl you can take to an arcade and have a blast. Yet all the girls would say "How could you guys like her, she's manly and a tomboy yada yada". LOL!!! What no love for Trudy or Mrs. Garrett?? and Jo!?!? First time I ever heard anyone say they liked her lol. Well... I did'nt go inside the dumpster but I did stand by it for a longtime at least
