  1. To each their own, going inside dumpsters for a whole night and hopefully looking for something "valuable"does'nt seem very appealing to me. And, no wayy that's Sexy!!! If you think making out with someone who smells like a corpse is sexy than that's all you lol.
  2. It's a girl? Man, I find it super-sexy that a girl would be cool enough to go garbage-hunting. I'm 100% serious, BTW. Most girly-girls would find that disgusting. Yes I just said my ex roommate's a girl lol and well she was'nt really a girly-girl,she was a really tough woman like that and did'nt give a crap. 10 years older than me too. She'd always call me her little sister and made fun of me for being scared to go inside the dumpster.
  3. I just thought the reason why I enjoy playing vintage games more than the modern ones is because the older games helps more with my imagination and creativity. Alot of Atari games had a real basic plotline and you really did'nt have to end a game like you do now. When I play a game like Dig Dug I always imagine a little story with the characters and it's funner not having to end a game. I watch people play games like Grand Theft Auto 3 and those complex 3D RPG games they have now and all they do is put me to sleep, but a game like Centipede always draws my attention.
  4. I kinda agree , RPG's on NES are a little boring and slow although I do love Legacy of the Wizard, that game has certainly aged well ....even more interesting than Zelda 1 and I love Zelda too. Atari 5200 games had better arcade ports than the NES tho Dig Dug on 5200 alone is way better than alot of NES games. I like collecting videogames more for the art of the graphics and music . I Love videogame music. They also make nice decorations in the room, plus they're fun to play on various substances. Good for parties and spending time with your loved ones especially.
  5. wow I never knew they made a Looney Toons game for 5200.
  6. I'd like to buy an SNK AES system too but noticed how expensive they are I'd love to get one just to play World Heroes,Bust-a-Move and Samurai Showdown 2. Over 100 dollars sounds really steep to me,but I do know that's an awesome system. Played it at the arcades all the time. Is the Neo Geo cd just as good?
  7. "1. What are the best NES games (or your favorites)?" Tetris(NES version) Millipede Legacy of the Wizard Gauntlet 2 Arkanoid Goonies 2 RC Pro-AM Cobra Triangle (Love this game!) Adventure Island Mickey Mousecapade Little Mermaid Balloon Fight Stinger Excitebike Super Mario Bros.2 (US version) Mike Tyson's Punch Out Marble Madness Legend of Zelda Metroid Ghosts n Goblins Castlevania 1 and 2 Megaman 1 and 2 Skate or Die Dragon Spirit Legendary Wings Adventures of Lolo 3D World Runner(w 3D glasses) Ninja Kid Bubble Bobble Athena MTV's Remote Control "2. What are the worst NES games (or ones you hate, even if others love them)?" X-men by LJN ( I hate that game lol) Rad Racer (I'd rather play Outrun!) 3D World Runner( the 3D glasses save this game but without them it sucks) Back to the Future Ring King (saw someone play this recently..what is that little kid doing in between rounds? eww) Mighty Bomb Jack Pac-man (Tengen version) Spy Hunter ( not even close to the arcade!) Super Mario Bros 3 ( very overrated) Barbie (lol) Friday the 13th Shadowgate(that one part I always get stuck in) Rambo Karnov(good gameplay but crappy ending) Ghostbusters Megaman 3 ( does'nt play at all like part 1 and 2..) Tecmobowl (I know alot of people like that game,it bores me tho) Bionic Commando Ikari Warriors 2 (although the music is really good...game and ending is really lame) Gyromite I don't have SNES and I don't use emulators so that's my input for teh thread edit- although Super Mario Kart on N64 is one of my faves....how come no questions abnout the N64???
  8. This makes me miss going to comicbook conventions lol er sorta.
  9. There are TONS of Famicom -> NES adaptors out there, though it's slightly harder to get them now that eBay has gone fascist. I also like the USA SMB2... really a superb game all around. If you want more info on multicarts check out this site . Yes I agree with you Ebay has gone fascist lol, because their rules is that you can only buy and sell through Paypal right??? Some people on ebay are still cool with receiving money orders/checks tho. I always send a message to the seller to make sure... Reading one of the posts above....yea I also think it's rad that some of the minor characters on SMB2 USA made it into the whole Super Mario universe(goes to show how good the game is although none of the bosses like Wart made it). I think the USA version became the real sequel to alot of people. Is the ending for Doki Doki Panic the same? SMB 2 Japan looks just like the first one but harder, I always thought the USA version was a way better looking game. SMB 2 Japan looks a little boring(and plays really difficult)..
  10. I used to have a 30 game multi-cart for the Japanese Famicom that an old boyfriend gave me when I was in highschool. It had Macross and SMB 2 on it but I never got to play it on my Nintendo because I did'nt have an adapter for it. Did they ever make an adapter for the NES where you can play Famicom games??? That would be rad,I'd totally buy one. Unfortunately I lost the multi-cart while I moved a longtime ago It was orange and had switches on it where you selected the games.Dang I'd like to find that again. I think I played the real SMB 2 on an X-box a few years ago. It makes sense that's the real sequel and not the USA version(you never saw that final boss frog guy or any of the bosses in the later games),although I really LOVE the USA Super Mario 2...... sure it was just a Doki Doki Panic hack but I think they actually made it into a better game.
  11. I had a roomate a few years ago who was'nt afraid to go dumpster diving. I always thought it was gross(it is, looking through people's trash is very nasty) but one night I went with her to help her find some aluminum cans because we were very broke at the time. She convinced me it was worth it. I refused to go inside a dumpster tho,so I just kept look out for my friend and filled up the bags. That's where we found a working credit card slider machine thingy(never used it tho), a record collection....found a bunch of cd's that I still have in my collection. Okay now this is very illegal lol but during that same night we found an ounce of marijuana that one of our neighbor growers threw out. It was mostly the stocks and stems but there were still alot of buds LOL. Ever since that night tho never again, but yeah it amazes me what people throw away. about 90% of it is pure rubbish and nastiness tho, interesting smells lol.
  12. Everytime I die in Mr.Do's Castle it's definitely the controller's fault All this time I thought they were made in China too lol.
  13. I always have to clean my controller out after each play(after playing 10-14 games in a day I always have to clean it out) A bit annoying but once the fire buttons get cleaned they're alright. My Pause and Reset buttons don't work at all tho My hand hurts everytime I play Centipede, I need to buy one of those Trakball controls. I've always liked the design of the 5200 stock controllers tho,way better then the NES ones. Wish they were just as sturdy . Irony is that they were made in Japan makes me think "did someone at Nintendo Japan sneak into the Atari factory and purposely built the Atari controllers faulty so that Atari would lose their sales and make way for the NES???"
  14. I spent 50 bucks on a 2-port that only came with 2 games,2 controllers and it did'nt have an rf box. I ended up spending 15 more bucks on a brand new RF switchbox that's kinda falling apart now(one of the cables inside it is a bit faulty and I always have to move the box a certain way to get a good picture). Good thing my system works tho and I've been playing it regularly for 3 months.I think I need to buy a new box too tho. I say that's a good deal you have. I wished my local thrift store sold Atari stuff...I always see NES games but never any Atari ones edit - Can the RF Box for 2600 work with a 5200??
  15. The only NES world record I have is that I can beat Super Mario Bros.1 in like 20 minutes but without using the Warp zones,it takes me 40 minutes.
  16. I'd love to have a Dragon's Lair arcade cab in my room ....Gauntlet 2 sounds really fun to have too.... I also like to have the Dark Stalkers arcade game in my room that would be rad.
  17. Turning Japanese by the Vapors....gawd I loove that song! Mmmm teriyaki is like one of the best sauces ever. Anyways I always thought the Super Famicom version of Street Fighter 2 is wayyy better than the American version. Why is it in alot of Super NES games alot of the original graphics get left out of the translation? I always liked the little crowd cheers and extra little things in the Japanese version. I'm actually saving my money to go to Tokyo this fall. Ohh I'm definitely going to buy some games there.
  18. Y's Books 1 and 2 for the PC Engine The Japanese version of Space Harrier for the Sega Saturn is really an awesome game, better than any US versions I've played... Urusei Yatsura for the Famicom...
  19. my top 5 1) Mr. Do's Castle(this game is Class, only if the standard controllers were'nt so crappy this game would be better than alot of Nintendo games ) 2) Dig Dug(the crappy controllers actually work well in this game lol) 3) Star Raiders ( I Loove this game! Took me awhile to figure it out but it's really addictive) 4) Gremlins (wish they took more time to put more levels, characters(where's Phoebe Cates??)and colors in it but overall the gameplay is good, despite the crappy standard controllers making it hard to play sometimes,as with most games) 5) Pitfall 2 ( have'nt played this game since the 80's,still need to buy it again, but from what I remember it was ahead of it's time. I could beat Super Mario Bros 1 in 20 minutes but this game??? I remember it was really really hard.Never beat it but anyone who has I must say has real skills lol) Honorable Mention: CENTIPEDE........especially with the trak-ball....gawd that game was ahead of it's time!
  20. Funny I just found out that my computer was found on the sidewalk and all my roommate had to do was just go to Best Buy and put a new harddrive in it and ta da a new computer. I found these things while throwing my trash away: a workable credit card machine, a record collection(mostly AC/DC and Van Halen in good condition), an unopened box of baseball cards circa 1989, an Aleister Crowley book..... wish I'd find some video games tho. Must say that was a good score with all those Nintendo games...that person does'nt realize they've just thrown away over 60 bucks worth of video games. Super Mario Bros. 2 is actually worth 10 dollars(even without the box in alot of thrift stores I've seen).I bet just the Super NES alone would get alot of money if it were to be sold on E-bay.
  21. I have no idea about the Sonic game you mentioned. Sonic the Fighters is a 3D arcade fighting game that came out in the late 90's.All the characters were from the Sonic games and it was really fun to play. I remember playing that with my friends at Planet Lazer in Hayward,CA(one of those Lazer tag places from the late 90's ). I love the cute cartoony type fighting games the best. Actually I read in wikipedia that Mr.Do's Ride was an arcade game that was never released on a system. Baby Pacman would be possible I think because all they'd have to do is figure out how to turn the pinball part into a videogame,I mean there are good pinball videogames afterall. I'd play that one for sure.
  22. My computer kinda sucks ,it's running on Windows '98 ( surprisingly works well logging on the net and is actually fast except on websites like Myspace and Ebay where it usually crashes).... wish I had XP.
