Someone needs to do justice to this game.I'd love to see this on Atari as the NES version was total crap

I totally remember the day when Dreamcast came out in late '99.....everyone I knew talked about it and when my brother got one it felt like the most advanced system ever.Dreamcast is wayyy better than PS 2. Does it always have to come in a box? lol when I got my 5200 recently without a box I was just as excited about it even if it did come in one.....I do remember the smell of a brand new 5200 box tho,ahhh...I love that new videogame smell,it's like the new car smell but a little better.

Yet another new 5200 owner, help my controller
lushgirl_80 replied to cybercylon's topic in Atari 5200
"maybe your broke controller was assembled wrong does it feel like it is moving the internals when you move the stick? " It feels like it's stuck and can't move the characters up,just down, left and right...I even centered the joystick right and still can't move it up, it just keeps getting stuck moving down -
Clean the games?? Yea it's weird I always have to fidget with those carts to make them work. thanks for the advice..

Yet another new 5200 owner, help my controller
lushgirl_80 replied to cybercylon's topic in Atari 5200
I have two controllers...one works good and the other is completely broken.... the one that works I noticed ...the start/pause/reset buttons always break and I always have to open in it up and clean the flex cirquit with an eraser. I learned that from reading 5200 repair website recently. I find it helps cleaning it with a plain eraser. The one that is totally broken, all the buttons work except the joystick is screwed up....can't figure out how to make it work -
I just got my Gremlins game today in the mail! So far I like it and find it pretty fun. Still waiting for my Pengo boxed and Joust.....drats I can't wait!!!!!

I have minor trouble shooting problems with 2 games...Moon Patrol and Gremlins...I noticed I have to press down extra hard on the cartridge in order to make the games work, but it's not so bad because once I get a connection it stays that way. Is it because the Moon Patrol and Gremlins were only made for the 4-port?? Mine's a 2-port but I have no problems getting them to work.

homebrew idea: Super Mario Brothers on Atari 5200 or Coleco
lushgirl_80 replied to lushgirl_80's topic in Homebrew Discussion
Was'nt Super Mario Bros.1 originally the sequel for the plain Mario Bros. ????? Anyways I kinda think Gauntlet 1 would also be good for the 4-port 5200(and it should be another voice game too). I hate the NES version. -
phew I can finally get on the main page. My computer's been acting weird lately. www.atari2600.com that site is awesome,i'd be sad if it went away.

The NES version of Pac-Man.
lushgirl_80 replied to famicommander's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I remember not liking the NES Popeye compared to the 5200 much(as with alot of 5200 games compared to NES) :-/ The characters on the 5200 were drawn alot bigger and the gameplay seemed more close to the arcade. Even tho the NES had better graphics, I like the 5200 version way better. -
early to mid 80's for me when my family had the 5200 I remember my sister and I eating alot of butter cookies while playing Galaxian. Somehow the 5200 standard controllers could'nt take the grease from the butter and they broke I remember the late 80's during the 8-bit NES days we'd always order pizza on a Friday night,so I remember eating alot of pizza while playing Super mario Bros. lol... that and alot of popsicles.....somehow the NES controllers were more durable... but I never really thought of eating while playing video games actually lol. I do remember Nintendo Cereal and the Mario cereal I liked but the Zelda one always gave me a headache. I do remember Pacman cereal tasting alot like Lucky Charms and Donkey Kong cereal was just basically Cap'n Crunch.

Awesomest looking game systems ever
lushgirl_80 replied to Gabriel's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I always liked the looks of: 1)Atari 2600 (original 6-switch,woodgrain 1977 version) 2) Atari 5200 4-port 3) Super Famicom 4) Turbo Grafx Duo Express(handheld version) 5) NES 8-bit (okay I know alot of people don't like that but personally I like the design of the original NES..the games don't load into that design as well as other systems but I've found out of most other designs it's the most durable. I can't count the number of times my NES has been accidently knocked over, stepped on and fallen to the ground and it still works. not to mention the conditions it's been through in storage.) -
Crystal Castles...can still be Atari's BIG game...
lushgirl_80 replied to SoundGammon's topic in Atari 2600
As far as cute game designs go.... Bentley Bear > Mario I kinda thought why they never made a sequel to Crystal Castles..that would be cool. -
Glad to see Crystal Castles as that's my favorite 2600 game! I'm surprised not to see Solaris on there tho Can't believe Berzerk beat Crystal Castles tho....not that it's a bad game but I would have never thought it would make a favorite's list. Crystal Castles is'nt as repetitive as Berzerk but that's just my opinion. Adventure I'm not surprised tho

The NES version of Pac-Man.
lushgirl_80 replied to famicommander's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yes I would have to agree that the NES Pac-man sucks. It's rather meh...I remember renting it a longtime ago from the video store and was totally disappointed when I played it. That and the NES version of Gauntlet 1 were very disappointing. I also did'nt like the NES version of Popeye compared to the 5200.It made me miss the Atari 5200 version so much...the 5200 version is the best home version of Pac-man for me. I love how you can change the difficulty levels and those key levels are really the funnest ever. The thing I don't like about the NES is that it had some games that were just generic versions of other games. Like Rad Racer is just a generic verion of Outrun and 3D World Runner is just another version of Space harrier. -
Awesome!!! Very inspiring....thanks for sharing now I'm really excited to try and make my own fridge magnets She should make one of Crystal Castles, I always loved that bear character.

I think I'll take the 30 second challenge on Dig Dug tonight I know I said Geoff Edwards was a bit dorky on my other thread lol but I do like the fact he's a videogame fan.... he does carry the show well. I also remember he was on the Lotto show.
