Are music videos more relevant today in the age of YouTube or BITD with MTV?

Back in the day for sure! I can remember people talking in the halls of school about music videos, etc., and they were everywhere!
But now? Once in a while someone mentions one in conversation or an email, usually just to point out a band's music...The video just happens to be there.

Definitely in the 80s, because music itself had a bigger slice of the pop-culture pie; and took a bigger share of people's free time and money.
