  1. So my million point world record on Star Castle is questionable because the previous world record was 47K? Yeah...
  2. Activision ain't gonna make 2600 games anymore. That's why we have wizards like Spice and Champ. But if you could pretend and go back in time I don't think sports games were their strength. And they weren't doing straight arcade ports until later although they did arcade-inspired games (Dragster and Megamania).
  3. Dude wtf with the triple posting? Defender ColecoVision can be marathoned so it's no comparison. I use the Edladdin Twin 7800 controller to play Stargate on the 2600. Check it out if you haven't.

    Kangaroo

One of you wizards should hack 2600 Kangaroo with better graphics. Thing looks fugly
  5. Why? Just because you can't do it? Have you actually played with a gamer that can put up otherworldly scores?
  6. No that's Atari 2600. The link shows the platform.
  7. World record is 902,660 http://www.twingalaxies.com/game_detail.php?gameid=3193&platformid=5
  8. Anybody have a Chromebook? Looking at buying one. Is 16-GB enough for storage or should I get a 32-GB? Or can I just add more storage if need be?

Depends on what you use the computer for. If you want to write 16GB is ample; for videos it's probably not enough; 16GB is about as much memory as 4 DVDs.

It will have an SD slot so you can add to it that way. I only have 16 GB SSD on my CB, but I store everything in the Google cloud so I haven't had any issues. I don't even keep an SD card in it except when moving pics from my camera over to it. But if the 32 GB model ain't much more, may as well get it?

  10. Anyone still use Usenet? Looking to download concert bootlegs but was wondering if those groups are even still active

I once paid for an all-time membership at a non-binaries site. It didn't take long before the site was shut down. Not that I paid any significant amount of money, but it was annoying anyhow. The increasing amount of spam and trolls at the same time web forums were growing quickly made me quit looking for other Usenet providers.

To answer the question.. yes I use Usenet, almost every single day.

  11. Why not just release the ROMs for download?
  12. Exactly. The unwritten rules around here about necrobumping are ridiculous. If the admins don't want old threads bumped then lock them. If they're left open then they're fair game IMHO.
  13. There was a guy I worked with who thought he knew it all. He made a config change to one of the domain controllers. I said "aren't you going to reapply the service pack?" I explained to him why but "he knew better." After a day of services not being accessible (it's been a long time - I don't recall specifically) he finally reapplied the service pack and everything returned to normal.
  14. I had a sleep study last night that was cancelled after 5 hours because I only got 1 hr of sleep. When I got home at 4 AM I was asleep within 15 minutes :(

  15. On NT if you had say service pack 6a installed and made a config change NT would install the files originally released with NT. You then had to reapply the service pack after any config changes. This changed with Windows 2000.
  16. Maybe I'm a bit crabby this morning so don't take offense OP but this is a dumb question. The size depends on how far away your sitting from the TV. /thread
  17. It was intriguing a few years ago. Now it's just time for it to be put to rest IMHO.

  20. I like competition too. But I don't like the casualness of Highscore.com - I want scores to be approved based on solid evidence. It's no fun when you question if someone beat your score by playing on easier settings.
  21. Well what better way to have a score verified than to do it live in a public setting?
  22. Have you ever played in a tournament?
