  1. PMC is a k1cka55 cart...I play Pac-Man Plus because it's faster and find myself cursing at this game frequently...

  3. I am going to guess that Galaga is one of them. Wp Nope. Galaga is a 4 system game (7800, NES, Arcade, and TG-16). Even then I'm stretching a little since the TG-16 version is actually Galaga '90. How about Donkey Kong - 2600, 7800, CV, NES, C64 + 2 other systems I wouldn't be able to name. Centipede is another but I am aware of only 26/52/7800, CV and C64 versions.
  4. I would guess Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man on the 26, 52, 78, C64, NES, ColecoVision and Arcade.
  5. I like the cause but I'm not feeling the "play a game"...sounds like a perfect way to distribute malware...
  6. You keep saying everything in past tense "my idea was" & "it would have been"...with that you make it sound dead in the water so why discuss it?
  7. That's nothing new...we had "rock n roll bowls" when I was growing up...scene was pretty much as you described
  8. She gets the bigger half and I get the other...I didn't think the arcade would look good on the other side with the fireplace...
  9. What about an 800 since it doesn't have that detached keyboard?
  10. I think the area is small enough that mounting the black lights up on the walls will work. It should be as easy as buying two of them and testing them out before the power is run...
  11. It's Ralph Lauren from Home Depot...
  12. Alright I got it in gear and took photos of what I have to work with... The "Retrocade" will be in the half of the room going from the duct work back to the Florida room which is that disaster area currently housing the Galaga cabinet. I do not recall the exact measurements but it's roughly a 12X12 area. I'm open to ideas!
  13. TMG was my first ever expo and it was last May. I honestly do not know what a 3DO even looks like but I would guess someone had stuff. I saw a range of systems from the Coleco Telstar to Xbox.
  14. A lot of them...all these pertain to the arcade version and not home ports: - the Mario death in Donkey Kong - Pac-Man eating the ghost - the constant background sound in Galaxian (probably my favorite) - the descending saucer sound in Astro Invader - the bullet and next screen sounds in Robotron - the fire and next stage sounds in Tempest - all the sounds in Asteroids - Mr. Do! collecting cherries - bullets in Space Invaders
  15. ? Well, where's the logic in randomly creating a grid and then pitting them up head-to-head? Doesn't make sense to me but I admit you've got my curiosity.
  16. It's a good game and really fun with two players. The downside is that the sound effects are pretty bad...
  17. Hell yeah - that's a steal - you should be an expert at that! : ]
  18. Are there any pics of previous conventions other than the ones in the About section of gamecorecon.com The Too Many Games WWW site has pix of their last expo. Supposedly, Gamecorecon took over that establishment.
  19. I don't know much about the 3DO since I collect systems and carts that ported arcade classics like the ColecoVision, 7800 et al. But, I can tell you I made out well at the Too Many Games expo last May. I got in early and crossed off a whole bunch of ColecoVision carts from my wants list. Many of the carts I bought were 50% off of book value. I also saved a bunch of dough for what I would have spent on "onesie-twosies" off of eBay.
  20. I need to get with it and post some pix of the basement. Anyway, I've calculated that I will need another 20 AMP circuit installed so that may be done by next Tuesday. I can't paint the ceiling until then cuz obviously the power has to be run across and down the wall. We bought a 6x9 Space Explorer black light rug for the arcade. Is there a certain way that the black lights will need to be positioned in order to get the effect? i.e. do they need to be directly overhead? If so, I may have to have an outlet installed in the ceiling as well. It would make more sense then running a cord all the way across the ceiling and down the wall.
