I prefer golden age arcade ports. There's a ton of good arcade games that were never released for the home. Some of the MSX and SG-1000 conversions for the ColecoVision were good, but I'd prefer that they get touched up if they get converted. -

How in the world did you set it up in the first place? You can Google for the user manual it'll tell you what the default settings are. I upgraded to an 802.11ac router over the winter. What are you running?

Can we post political issues in status updates?
-
My guess is you are asking a serious question, meaning political issues, as opposed to political viewpoints?
-
Or are you being a goofster like me when I enter chat and ask What's everyone talking about? Religion? Politics?

Well something changed - this hasn't happened in the past except for the last week.
-
It happened twice now within the last week where I'm viewing new content and then when I click to move on to the next page I've been logged out of the forums. Then when I log back in, I view new content and there is nothing new so I can't pick up from where I left off.

Exactly when did arcades die in the USA?
VectorGamer replied to Flojomojo's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I can tell you when the ColecoVision came out in 82, I could say at the time "I'll stay home and play ColecoVision instead of going to the arcade." The ColecoVision seriously cut into my time spent at the arcade. The 2600 that I got 2 years before - not so much. -

The only arcade chain I'm aware of that you didn't mention is Barcade. Here's an article published yesterday: How Arcade Bars Are Reviving a Decades-Old Subculture http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/how-barcades-are-reviving-a-decades-old-subculture-990213 -

FWIW I wish members here would stop posting arcade topics outside of the arcade forum. Who doesn't love skeeball??? Raw Thrills makes new cabinets and games. They have a list of authorized sales/service companies on their www. -

I was in Wildwood NJ a couple of summers ago and walked into an arcade that had a shitload of claw machines. It was unreal Not following you there - all the articles I've read online about new beercade openings have classic arcade cabs from the 80s and 90s. Only a minority of them feature a console gaming area. The only thing I don't buy online is food, gas and clothes. I would think there's a significant number that prefer to try on their clothes and shoes before they buy. I'm surprised that book stores are still around. I just bought a book online today with free shipping cuz I can't justify driving out to the local strip mall book store in case they might have the book I need in stock and at a lower price. -

I can tell you that around 84-85 the large arcade at the local mall of over 100 machines downsized to a smaller location - maybe with 40-50 machines. Someone has stats of how many arcades were open year-to-year. Fighting games happened in the early 90s that got kids back out to the arcades. Arcades aren't dead. They're coming back as beercades all over the country. -

I'm not aware of any place that was a dedicated arcade that served alcohol BITD

I bought Gorf back in the day and I thought it was a great game. Heck, looking back I don't recall if I played the arcade game - maybe I saw a review of it in Electronic Games? CBS games overall seem to be pretty good. For your time, here's a picture of a donut:

Harmony cart. Donkey Kong is horrible. Mouse Trap is horrible. Donkey Kong Junior is horrible. If it's 1982, you really need to upgrade to the ColecoVision. Zaxxon is actually fun despite not even close graphically to the arcade game.
