I think it should be the opposite. If it's a tournament, you're going to have referees and all the machine settings should have been documented ahead of time to make sure they are being played on the correct settings. From there, players should only need to submit their scores to the ref. Those are the only arcade scores I submit because I can't be bothered with all the rules Twin Galaxies has for arcade submissions.

Super Game Module - French SCART version
VectorGamer replied to fandenivoldsk's topic in Opcode Games
You seem to take exception to people offering their honest opinion. It started with me when I said that (rightfully so) that Bagman for the ColecoVision was a piece of garbage given all the bugs that were in it and you just went ballistic - seriously like you have some kind of mental problem. Now your a moderator... The other member said they were disappointed with the product. Respect his opinion and the fact that he's not a fanboy like you that'll praise anything released for the ColecoVision no matter what the quality. -
Does it matter where you get the high score
VectorGamer replied to Jim Pez's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Incorrect. OP said he had the high score on the arcade Defender. MAME is a separate track on Twin Galaxies so having the top score in MAME does not trump the high score on arcade. -
How about Galactic Invader?

Any news for those of us that paid for DK?

Rusty Quarters arcade to open in Minneapolis

My favorite part of those threads on KLOV was about the inadequate signage for his arcade. -
Rusty Quarters arcade to open in Minneapolis

I've seen others complain about that. Supposedly, one time he closed early so he could go across the street to watch a movie. It seems to me that he didn't want the responsibility of running a business. -
Death Race requires two fire buttons: forward and reverse. It will never happen on the 2600 /thread

Maybe so but even before the Chameleon debacle there was usually hundreds of Atari 2600 cartridges up for auction. Maybe by the same seller, I don't know...but now essentially no 2600 anything
-
Only one game for auction for the Atari 2600. To me this is fallout from the Coleco Chameleon debacle. He had to have lost buyers/sellers because of it.

I'd rather get the Edladdin twin controller for the 7800. Costs more but you can play Robot Ron on the 7800 and easily use the second fire button for Stargate 2600.

What's the difference between d2k and dkII?
VectorGamer replied to Keatah's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Incorrect - they are both called D2K. The arcade games is called "DIIK: Jumpman Returns" and the INTV game is called "D2K Arcade." -
Possibly. But I know they appeared in trade magazines like Replay and Play Meter.

Finally! The 5200 is mine! And a ton more!
VectorGamer replied to King_Salamon's topic in Atari 5200
There's documentation out there on how to do the upgrade yourself. I think I have a 1/2-dozen controllers that I rebuilt myself (and if I can do it - anybody can do it). And there's a guy on eBay named electronics-4-fun that sells all the parts you need to rebuild the controller if you don't want to deal with Best. -
I struggle with this myself. Most of the games I play on classic consoles and computers are arcade translations and there's only a minority where I would say that the translation is better than the arcade game. I haven't gotten the courage though to rid of my collection and just get a decent laptop and arcade stick to get my gaming fix and stop spending money on home brew arcade translations.

Gotta disagree with Gorf and Omega Race. Arcade Gorf is better in every respect. Arcade Omega Race is better because of the spinner and button controls - plus it looks awesome. My favorite home version of Omega Race is on the C64. Two that I think can be added to the list: Mouse Trap and Space Panic. These two games just look more polished on the ColecoVision compared to the arcade.

Rusty Quarters arcade to open in Minneapolis
VectorGamer replied to S1500's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Rusty Quarters' business model was that from 1982. The business model nowadays is an arcade bar or an arcade where you can BYOB. Timeline Arcade in Hanover, PA has been open for years now and they have events and BYOB. -
I sold off my Lynx collection once I got the multicart. I don't have room to store all this stuff and like you I just want to play the games.
