I've asked this question before, and the answer given to me was that Parker Bros. had the rights to develop Star Wars home video games at the time which meant Atari couldn't release the home version of their own arcade game on their own. For your time:

Rusty Quarters arcade to open in Minneapolis
VectorGamer replied to S1500's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Bumping this after reading some threads of gold on KLOV for your reading pleasure. Just search for "Rusty Quarters"... Here's one to get you started: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=235306&highlight=Rusty+Quarters -
Need help getting smoke smell out of a game cabinet!
VectorGamer replied to rapoza609's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I can confirm Simple Green. -
It's over 2 hour drive for me. The web site doesn't yet state what all is going on at the expo. I have a multicart and don't collect carts, so the marketplace wouldn't be of much interest to me. If there was an arcade at the event with pinball and arcade games or even a ColecoVision tournament I might consider going. But as of right now, I'd be willing to sit out the first year and wait for someone to upload a walk through video to YouTube to see what it's all about.

Proposal for a hack to Space Invaders Arcade
VectorGamer replied to procyon's topic in Atari 2600 Hacks
I think the yellow (or beige - whatever that color is) on the bottom looks bad. What about just various shades of blue from darkest at the top to lightest at the bottom? -
Crystal Castles is already available for the 5200 (8-bit conversion?). But it doesn't support the trackball so we need someone to add trackball support.

AA Homebrews on ebay for very high prices
VectorGamer replied to roadrunner's topic in Auction Central
I listed mine at 50% of what you would pay in the AA store. Some auctions ended up being higher than the AA prices. Go figure -
Since I got a new laptop, I bumped up my fps in Xsplit from 30 fps to 60 fps. Here's one of my latest videos capturing at 60 fps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYie8Mzaom0 Here is a capture of going PS composite out to RF modulator. This is an older video capturing at 30 fps. Both of these videos used the USB TV tuner I linked to previously. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9YVdsvuSL8

Nevermind I had a brain fart - or course the SDrive can load PRG files. Anyway, I gave this a play last night. It sure would be nice if there was a manual. I had to do some guessing to figure out how to get the game started: press 1 to insert coin then CTRL to start the game. Also, without a manual I'm not sure that there are any options in this game. It would've been nice if you could select USA or Japan for the order of the boards. Otherwise, I think it's a good looking game.

New Arcade/MAME HSC Moderator Needed
VectorGamer replied to VectorGamer's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Scoring system should be listed in the rules thread. 11 points for 1st, 10 points for 2nd, 9 points for 3rd etc... There are two threads that contain the historical HSC score data. Only the top scores for each player are listed. MAME ROMsets and DIP switch settings can be found in the HSC score threads if they have been played previously. If a game is being played for the first time ever, I consult Twin Galaxies web site for the ROMset and DIP switch settings. -
Arcade Multicade Conversions, your thoughts on them
VectorGamer replied to Polybius's topic in Arcade and Pinball
I agree. Which is why my MAME cabinets aren't fugly. -
I didn't want to post this in the Arcade/MAME HSC forum cuz I prefer to keep the thread listing nice and tidy. I warned you guys earlier in the season that I was looking for a new job and the time may come that I can no longer moderate the HSC. Well that time has come. I'm hoping that the new moderator will be given the same rights I have to the forum to edit, pin and lock threads to keep things tidy. Also, I'm hoping that the new moderator will keep the HSC scoreboards up to date since a lot of work was put into them by various forum members. Who's up for the task? Time's yours...

Arcade Games You'd Like To See Ported To The Atari 7800
VectorGamer replied to Skippy B. Coyote's topic in Atari 7800
That would suck and I wouldn't buy it. Honestly I would have to think about it if I would even pony up the dough to pay for the game with special controller. It's probably why it has yet to be done along with the thread of C&D from Disney. -
Which BBS is that? I'm playing on 3 different BBSes.

Arcade Games You'd Like To See Ported To The Atari 7800
VectorGamer replied to Skippy B. Coyote's topic in Atari 7800
A special controller would have to be built. You would have to have a contoller with trigger and a spinner just like the arcade game. One controller port would operate the joystick/trigger and the other controller port the spinner. How much are you willing to pay? -
First of all, I was banned from there for objecting to the NoSwearGamer NoSwearSpammer for starting multiple threads where he was embedding his videos. Atari.io already has a subforum where someone can create a thread to embed their latest and greatest videos. If you peruse the forums I think you'll find 7 or 8 or 10 threads he started where he embeds his videos. If you're someone like me who isn't a subscriber to his channel, this comes off as spammy when on top of that he posts links to YouTube videos in status updates and talks about his videos in the chat room. Even Justin (the forum God) agreed with me in a PM that what he was doing was excessive. Then when he didn't do anything about it (I requested that they install the Ignore Thread mod) and I expressed my opinion in one of his newly created YouTube threads they sent me to banned camp. You're not missing anything over there. Most of the content is YouTubers embedding their latest videos or them talking about content they found on AtariAge. Why bother with a forum that discusses content sourced from another, more active forum? And everyone knows that AtariAge is THE place to be to discuss pre-crash gaming among other things.

I read an article about the new movie Wizard Mode that would be available on Vimeo and iTunes. But someone gave me a heads up that it's available on Amazon Prime. Watched it last night and it's an awesome movie! Much better than the arcade movies I've watched like King of Kong and Man vs. Snake. http://www.wizardmodefilm.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbOjU7dpTrc
