Friend of mine is trying to track down a game he remembers on the 8-bits... He asked me via IMs and this is what he wrote: "Do you remember the name of the Atari 800 game where you mowed the lawn (or something like that) where you essentially painted the screen?" "I just remember some game where you were essentially painting the whole board green and won when it was all filled in." "It was kinda like Qix where you were avoiding attacks but it was very 'fill in the grid'" Any ideas at all??? Thanks! ~Scott

1 6-switcher 1 5200 1 400 1 800 1 1200XL 1 800XL 1 65XE 1 1040stf 1 Flashback 2 And do you REALLY need to own 16 of any one retro computer? At that point you're either insulating your home with them or hoarding so that others CAN'T get their hands on one... Just sayin.

I just picked up a boxed 1040 STf (original box, styrofoam inserts, etc.), but it was missing the mouse. Anyone have one for a reasonable price? ~Scott

Hey guys, due to a recent move AND my current job situation (or lack of) I'm slowly but surely paring down my collection to just the essentials (mainly my Atari 8-Bit stuff and a few other computers). Currently up for auction is a lot of 6 Nintendo 64 cartridges including a GameShark! Also includes Star Wars Episode 1 Racer, Perfect Dark, Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness, GoldenEye 007 and Gauntlet Legends! The auction is right here: Lot of 6 (Six) Nintendo 64 cartridges eBay Auction -- Item Number: 290528392406

I acquired a lot of 8-bit stuff including about 8 of those LARGE boxed carts (Asteroids, SCRAM, Missile Command, Star Raiders, etc.) Most of the boxes are a tad warped, a couple have been crunched slightly... Any advice for methods of flattening and/or restoring these boxes?

For any of you in the L.A. area, I have a 5200 (with two controllers (one is in rough shape)), the RF box, power supply and 8 games (4 loose (Dig-Dug, Missile Command, Pac-Man, Super Breakout) and 4 in original boxes (Baseball, Football, Soccer, Tennis)) on craigslist for $30. I am also selling two N64s (each has two controllers (two gray and then one red and one neon green/transparent) for $20 each or $35 for both. I would prefer to sell locally as I am in the midst of moving and I'm trying to avoid shipping, but if you make a nice offer (maybe for everything) I will consider it. ~Scott

A) I have managed to make some shipped transactions happen via Craigslist by just being honest, pleasant and prompt with payment. B) Even though some prices may be high on Craigslist, you at least have the freedom to make offers or even suggest trades (which I have done). In fact I just traded a couple old DVDs for a VIC-20, some games and a tape drive... There was a price, but he was open to trading instead and considering these DVDs were in a box to be traded/sold anyway, it worked out very well for me!

My first game console was a Coleco Telstar. My first computer was a Southwest Technical Products 6800.

I do almost ALL of my purchases via Craigslist now. eBay is just out of control. Occasionally I find a bargain, but it is rare.

Here is a list of the contents (verbatim transcription) of many of the diskettes in this lot. I didn't post the games as there are several and nothing appears to be too unusual in that pile, but I thought some of you might find the utilities, etc., of interest. NOTES: Each disk is separate by a space. For the most part, I transcribed everything as it appears on the label (most are handwritten). In some cases, I may have mistook a "D" for a "0" or an "S" for a "5"... apologies for that, but I suspect those "in the know" will be able to figure it out: Mydisk (MD 3.015 D) Speedcalc The Analog Database (DOS 2.0D) The Menu P.D. Odd that it would say "For Demo Only" though... Was the package a demo package for each store, perhaps???

I just acquired a crazy lot of Atari stuff and it had one of these Koalapainter carts in it, as well... Brown cart with a simple label reading: "For Demo Only" / "Not For Resale"

Within the span of one week, I managed to acquire TWO 5200s, both in the town where I live (one via a private seller via Craigslist and one this morning at a yard sale). The first one came with 24 games (22 in their original boxes) with all overlays. It also came with two controllers, but no switch box or power supply... This lot was $50. Just when I was about to put the money down for a replacement power supply and switch box, I read a listing for a yard sale that mentioned a 5200 and picked up a console with vinyl dust cover, two controllers, power supply, switch box and 10 cartridges (no boxes, in this case) for $45. So I hook it all up a few minutes ago and... Four out of four controllers are non-responsive!!! Ugh... Well, I guess before I do anything drastic, I will take the advice posted here and open them up to clean the contacts, blow out the ancient dust and spiders and see what happens. Two controllers are missing buttons (START on one and a key off the pad on another) so they will likely be sent in to Best for replacement, but the other two seem clean, tight and feel like they SHOULD work. We'll see what happens after I gut them and clean them soon. I'll post the results here for the curious.

Heh... Of course Stu is my father (for those curious...) And my dad is still very much alive and while he has drifted away from the Ataris, he is currently doing some upgrade work on my 1200XL (though we now live on opposite sides of the country).

For those interested, I recently learned that Joseph (Joe) J. Wrobel had passed away. That name may mean something to some of you old school Atari people because in the 80s, Joe's named could be found on various programs, and articles appearing in magazines primarily for the 8-bit Atari computers. Back then, Joe was an active member of ACORN (the Atari Computer Owners of Rochester New York) and a family friend. Time did eventually separate my family from Joe's family (in that unfortunate way that time does), but my father and I still have wonderful memories of Joe and he will be missed. Do a search for his name some time to see some of the programs and articles that he wrote!

Yes, for Atari 8-Bit computers... Thank you anyway!

Do you ship worldwide? I am in the United States.

Hey guys... Last year I received some disks that my parents found in their basement that contained several Mr. Robot boards that my best friend and I made when were teenagers. I would love to give them a whirl, but I don't own a copy of Mr. Robot and I'm forever being outbid whenever copies rear their heads on eBay. Is there anyone here who might have a spare copy of the game for sale??? Thanks, ~Scott

No one has any suggestions for my problem??? It doesn't appear to be the Power Switch, btw...
