  1. Wait, if you have a IIc you can forget the Mockingboard for now. There are no slots for expansion cards in that model.

Plamen, the developer of a2heaven is working on a Mockingboard for the IIc but there is no release date yet.

For the IIc there was an external Mockingboard but it is extremely rare. There is also the Cricket, an external synthesizer, but it is not that common either.

Thanks for the info, I probably would have bought one of the Mockingboard clones without realizing that it was incompatible with my Apple ][c.

I guess I'll forget about Apple ][ music until the ][c Mockingboard comes out.

    Thanks again!

  2. What do you want to do with this live music? Do you want to make videos or actually try to do a venue and sell tickets?

I play in an 80s scifi-themed electronic band called Conquer Monster. We use synths, gameboys, and C64s to make our music. I own an Apple ][c computer (I mistakenly labeled it as ][e in the original post) and wanted to see if I could start incorporating it into our sound.

So to directly answer your question, the goal would be to record the Apple II computers and to play them live in a venue.

Here's a gear shot from our album release show back in October:

  3. I would recommend getting a Mockingboard (clone) and use some of the French touch chip tune demos. I'm afraid that without proper filtering you will not get much out of the 1bit speaker output.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm having trouble finding pricing information on the Mockingboard clones. ReactiveMicro.com is currently out of stock, but they recently announced that they are making a second run. Do you know about how much they will cost?

  4. So the thin plexi glass lenses of the gauges cracked out when I tried to drill them...

I tried to cut out some of the plexi glass that i had laying around, but the jigsaw chipped out the sides. So I just slammed this "modem" together with an amp and volt gauge up front, an 0A3 vacuum tube as an indicator light to see if the modem is on.

I cant wait till the SD card and power supply come in, so i can get this modem up and running and my Vic 20 online.

This has such a great aesthetic!

  5. My wife and I are starting a new music project and need an Atari 2600. I'm not particular about which model and I only need the console and power supply (no games or joysticks). Thanks, please include a shipped price to zipcode: 84606.

  6. When I was about 6 years old my family bought their first computer (1989). Unfortunately neither my parents nor I remember what type of computer it was. There was a selection screen with 26 games labeled A-Z. I'm hoping someone can help me identify game "R". This game had a top-down view of the floor plan of a house drawn very simple (possibly using only ascii characters). Your character was a smiley face and your objective (I think) was to solve a murder. I have searched the Internet for this game, but with only a few details it is hard to know what to search for. Here's what I've found so far:

Mystery House: I watched this walk thorough video and this game seems very similar to the game I'm looking for, but the graphics are a lot more advanced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiwHwPvIHBs

Snipes: This game has a similar look, but the objective of the game is different.

Any information will be greatly appreciated. I know that I didn't give you much info to work with, so I understand if this is impossible. Thanks.

  8. If you're handy you can take a C128 power supply and replace the original tip with the 7-pin DIN used by the C64. I just did this today and it's just about the best PSU out there for the C64 save for most of the modern replacements.

I did this as well, but I drilled a hole in the casing and brought another set of wires out so that I could use it as a C64 or C128 PSU (but obviously not at the same time). I've been using mine for 5 years and never had an issue with it, other than a blown fuse once or twice.
