I have a 4 switch woody 2600 and I was planning on selling it. About how much do they sell for unmodded, and how much would it sell for if I modded it? I'm just trying to figure out if it is worth the time to do this. Thanks in advance. Dusty

I was reading the guide on AA that describes the process of modding an NES controller to be used with an Atari 2600, and it got me thinking about modding my NES power pad to work with the 2600 like the keypad controller. (1) Is this possible? (2) If so, where would I start? Thanks. Dusty

My Craigslist Adventure (C64 stuff)
dustfilledhobo replied to dustfilledhobo's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
I would have hooked the printer up, but I was short on time, and I didn't know how to network it with my floppy drives (these are the first floppy drives I've owned for the C64). I don't know if the printer works, and I'm not sure what you meant by "singing floppy programs." I'm guessing you are talking about the programs that make your drives misalign musically. If this is true then, no I didn't get any. It did come with the incredible musical keyboard program (not the keyboard overlay), and a few other music composition programs, but I still like my Cynthcart better. Thanks for the tip, I gave you a rep point for it. Thanks for all of the posts. Dusty -
Yeah, Hatefulgravey mentioned point pressing in this game in an earlier. So, I tried it for "fun", but it wasn't fun, and it ended up making me do worse. For me if I rushed through the levels, I was already in the "mode" for moving fast, thus the bonus portions of the level were easier. If I tried to point press I just fell down a hole and lost the bonus. The bonuses are worth a lot in the later levels, so your score climbs fast if you can get them. I had the hardest time trying to get to 100k, and I did it only once, but I got on a role and reached my posted high score. In short IMO this game sucks if you try to point press, but I think that it is really fun if you just run through it. Also, are we allowed to start the next game? I thought this game ended on Wednesday. Dusty

Here is my final entry: 251680 pts.

You don't need to have a screen shot for it to count.

95690 pts.

I've been practicing and I finally got to the 9th mountain. Also, the 8th bonus stage (jack-o-lanterns) wasn't that hard, but it was worth 20,000 points!!!!!! Anyway, here is my score. Not the best in this thread, but the best I've done so far. Score: 80330 pts.

one more for the night: 38250 pts.

Here is my best of 4 more attempts: 30510 pts.

19,660 pts. The bonus sections kick my butt almost every time. Dusty

Thanks for the links, but is there anything that is not for an iphone, ipod touch, ipad? My ipod is really old, it was the first version that was in color, so I can't use either of these apps currently. Dusty

I was wondering if anyone has made a rarity guide for 2600 games (or other vintage games) that can be downloaded and placed on your ipod? I'm new to collecting 2600, and I don't always know what games are worth (and I don't have the internet on my phone). There is probably a different solution as well, so if you know of something that could help me on-the-go I would appreciate that as well. Thanks, Dusty

I found one on nintendoage.com, so I don't need on, thanks. Dusty

I would like to buy Dr. Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64. The cosmetic condition does not matter (I'm not collecting it, I just want to play it). Let me know if you have a copy you are willing to part with. Please include shipping to 84606 when replying. Thanks. Dusty

I've never used them, but some people have left the batteries in and forgotten to turn them off (which drains the batteries quick). I haven't read anything about lag though. Dusty

Do you own any complete game series?
dustfilledhobo replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
I own the Cynthcart (commodore 64) and the Synthcart (Atari 2600), does that count as a complete series (I don't think that any others were released). Dusty -
So, there are many ways to turn classic computers into music machines like Cynth and Synthcarts, MSSIAH, and cv drum. I think there is some new apple II software as well. Does anyone here perform/ have music on the internet to listen to who is a member of this forum? I'd like to hear it. I'm also interested in hearing music made with broken disk drives, or printers (like that awesome printer synth that paul slocum made). I have heard a lot of this music in other places, but I want to stress that I only want to know what members of AA are doing. So, please tell me about your experiences. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing your music. Dusty

Floppy disks - why store them upright?
dustfilledhobo replied to Herbarius's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
I don't know much about floppy disks, but I collect vinyl records, and it is recommended to store them vertically as well. The reason is that the weight of the records can crush the records on the bottom (or at leaste cause some hairline fractures). Could the weight of the disks crush the disks below (maybe not crush, but cause some sort of damage)? Just my thoughts on your post. Dusty -
What is the atari hardware in the back of this picture?
