  1. Thanks for your quick reply. Does anyone know about how much a datasette weighs?
  2. How much does the breadbox C64 weigh? How much does a datasette roughly weigh (any model)? Thanks. Dusty
  3. BINGO! Thanks, this is the game I was looking for. Also, thanks for everyone's help. Now I can play this and see if it really is as hard as I remember it. Dusty
  4. Thanks, but these aren't it. All i could find was this matchbox game: Motor City Patrol: Though this is not the game, the controls are very similar. I remember it being a lot like this game, but with more open space. Are there any other matchbox games, because this game seems really close? Dusty
  5. Thanks, but this is not the game. Thanks, but this isn't the game either. You could move the car in all directions, the map was rectangular and the background had to scroll up, down, left, right to get to the edges of the map. I believe there was a road, but you could drive on the grass or anything else. Also, I think the object of the game was to shoot other vehicles. Thanks for everyone's help. Sorry I can't give you more details, I played this game 10 years ago and I only played like 20 times. Dusty
  6. Thanks for the input, but that's not the game. It wasn't a racing game. Anyone else have an idea? Also, I am 100% sure it was an NES game not an SNES. Thanks. Dusty
  7. When I was younger I used to play a game at my friend's house and I was never that good at it. I would like to see if it really was as hard as I remember, or if I just wasn't that good at Nintendo back then. I'm sure someone here will know what game it is, so here's what I remember: (1) It was a car shooter (arial view). (2) The controls were relative to the car not to the screen. When you pushed UP on the d-pad the car went forward (even if it was facing down). (3) You could level up your car. You could power up your weapons and attributes like tires and engines (I think). That's all I remember, other than in 2 player mode, both cars were on the screen at the same time (instead of having two separate turns). Thanks in advance for your help. Dusty
  8. Thanks for your help. I look forward to your next reply.
  9. Erm.. You need to choose a micro first. How good are your soldering skills? If they are top notch then you can go for SOICs or QFPs. Otherwise you are limited to .1" pitch devices (or have a look at Olimex, Sparkfun etc. for some ready built .1" pitch microcontroller modules). Do you have any software experience? Something like this is probably best done in assembler. My soldering skills are good, and my software experience is minimal. I feel much more comfortable with hardware. And supercat, I don't know anything about the 2600, but haven't people been successful in modding 2600 controllers to have auto-fire buttons (I could be wrong, so correct me if I am)? Shouldn't this same idea work for the keypad controller? Once again, I don't know, these are genuine questions.
  10. I read somewhere that sega genesis turbo controllers have been used with the 2600's synthcart, but you are limited i which sounds you can access using the turbo buttons. So, I though I would build my own controller to access all 24 sounds while also being able to control the speed of the turbo. Also, thanks for the other replies. If anyone else has something they would like to add please do. Also, GroovyBee, I have never used a microcontroller or rotary encoder. Could you draw me a schematic or block diagram to illustrate how to hook all of this up? Thanks in advance. Dusty
  11. I am attempting to build my own keyboard controllers for the 2600, but I want to add potentiometer-adjustable turbo buttons to the basic design using 555 timers (12 separate chips per controller so I can adjust the speed of each button differently). My question is, will I need to have a separate power supply to draw enough current to power two controllers (totaling 24 555-timers)? Or will I be just fine using the power from the controller ports? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, even if you only have information about the 555 current consumption or the 2600's current output. Dusty
  12. I bought a c128 psu from him and it works great. He let me know what was happening every step of the way. A++++++++++ Dusty
  13. Oh scratch that I just found it on google, it's called time traveler. But I still think that it's the weirdest game I've seen. Dusty
  14. There was a pizza place by my house when I was younger that had an arcade where the image was projected using a hologram instead of a screen. I played the game a few times, but never really got the hang of it. If I remember correctly, you had your choice of a couple regular-looking people to play as, and you would do random stuff, like jump over a fire ball, and then be sitting in a graveyard. I think the game had something to do with time travel. I would like to revisit this game to see if I could understand it now that I'm older. Does anyone have a clue as to what game I could be talking about? The specifics like a fireball and grave yard could be completely off, but I know that it was projected using a hologram. Thanks in advance for any help. Dusty
  15. Thanks, I looked all over the internet, and on this forum and I was unable find a straightforward answer to my seemingly simple question. Thanks for the fast reply and for the straightforward explanation. Dusty
  16. I just searched the AA forum, and was able to find multiple A/V mods, but I am only concerned with modding my 2600 (4-switch), so I can plug a 1/4" cable into it and plug it into an amp (using the synthcart). It seems that I could simply connect a 1/4" female connector to the stella chip (I forgot which pin) and to ground, and then I'd be set. Will someone please tell me how to do this. Thanks in advance. Dusty
  17. I believe the 128 uses the same voltage as the 64, but they have different plugs, the 128 has a square one, and the 64 has a circular one. Thanks for the reply.
  18. I just dug out my commodore 128 and found that my power supply is missing, I would really like to start using this again. So, if you have a power supply and are willing to sell it, please let me know. thanks.
