  1. What's your favorite weapons in video games? I love the Crissaegrim from Castlevania: SOTN. The game is esentially over when you get it!

I originally played through SotN in Japanese, and when I got the Crissagrim I no longer needed to look up what any of the items did. Just run forward and murder.

  2. Hey folks. I love the Castlevania games and am glad Konami rarely dropped the ball in making these (Haunted Castle the only instance I can think of right off the bat). I wondered what you felt were the best tricks/cheats/glitches you discovered in the Castlevania series? Me personally, I'm discovering the joys of "Going Outside The Castle" in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. This details exploiting glitches to leave the castle's game borders outright, or getting stuck in the walls/ceilings/floors, in order to increase the amount of rooms uncovered and map percentage. This is an odd little trek I'm on but I find it fascinating. There's a website called "World Without Walls" or something like that dedicated to this craft. This map's white areas show glitched areas. You mostly open these up with Heart Refreshes-- you must also have the Duplicator because you must chain a whole lot of Heart Refreshes one after another. The whole XY map is the way that the upright castle actually links downward to the inverted castle. You can downward from the top of the castle to the inverted castle! Post your favorite tricks from the CV areas, folks!
  3. God I hate the Patriots. That was the worst "Roughing The Passer" call I will ever see.

Chiefs had zero defense but for a couple plays. You can't win with 0 sacks.

Gee, a controversial call went the Patriots way? Get out of town. The league does everything they can to hand Super Bowls to NE

I boycott the Super Bowl if the Patriots are in it.

  4. CASTLEVANIA- SYMPHONY OF THE NIGHT (PSX) Easily IMHO the greatest game of the franchise. I am working on a video involving glithcing the game so you open up rooms OUTSIDE the castle! Interesting stuff! HAUNTED CASTLE (arcade) Awful arcade entry in the CV series. Graphics and music are fine but the game is unfairly hard and feels unfinished in parts. ELEVATOR ACTION RETURNS (arcade) Kind of cool update to the original but kind of unpolished.

  13. Just curious.. I did a long YouTube series of top 20 arcade video games of each year from 1980 up to 1997, and the 70s in general (some entries are incomplete due to not being playable in MAME yet) and I was just curious as to what YOU folks felt were the best 20 games of each year. If you can make them sort of in order (or at least the top pick or top 5 or so) maybe list them that way. Or jumble them together in no particular order, doesn't really matter. I was just curious as to which ones we liked best. For me: 70s in general (I just generalized since the arcade video game scene hadn't caught on until later in the 70s): 1. Space Invaders 2. Asteroids 3. Galaxian 4. Pong 5. Breakout 6. Sprint 2 7. Head-On 8. Tank 9. Depthcharge 10. Night Driver 11. Atari Basketball 12. Atari Football 13. Super Bug 14. Sea Wolf 15. Gun Fight 16. Spectar (I will someday re-upload and switch Moon Cresta or Targ with Crazy Climber) 1981: 1. Donkey Kong 2. Ms. Pac-Man 3. Galaga 4.Frogger 5. Scramble/Super Cobra 6. Qix 7. Astro Blaster 8. Gorf 9. Shoot Out That's it for now; I will let you folks compare your own or tell me what I got right or should have included. The dates for some of the games may not all be exact but the ones that aren't were close enough to the date or generally seen in US arcades that date. Fire away with your picks!!
  14. I like them all. Galaxian I have fond memories of at my dad's bowling alley on Monday nights after school. Learning about having 5 seconds of free shots at the aliens after nailing the flagship really put a new spark into my enjoyment of the game. Galaga has great music and sound effects, and for patient gamers the "no-fire" trick makes the game so much easier! The bonus rounds are a great addition, as is the inclusion of other Namco enemies making an appearance (the Galaxian flagship and enemies from Bosconian). Gaplus had some cool weapon power-ups-- I loved the hypno-beam! And I used to really rock at the bonus stage, juggling those enemies as long as humanly possible with my shots. Worthy sequel.
  15. Damn it-- often times when I have a dialogue box or search box open it starts filling up with backslashes.. like /////////////////////////////. It's not a keyboard problem as this is a new keyboard and I had this problem with the older one too. I guess it's a faulty USB port and I need it replaced..?
