I was far more disappointed in the lack of announcer than the additional graphics that Fatal Fury Special added in the arcade, that wasn't present here. The announcer (named B.J. Love!) really made the NEO GEO games enjoyable for me. Even if his delivery was a bit cheesy he still brought energy with his booming voice. I was also very disappointed with long load times. But at least the game had Ryo Sakazaki in it automatically as a playable character (you had to beat the game without losing one fight, I believe, in the arcade), and you could EASILY beat the game with him since the computer opponents just stood there whenever he unleashed any special attack (fireball, flying kicks, etc.). I had fun with the game. More clips: SPIDERMAN VS. THE KINGPIN JOE MONTANA FOOTBALL- Even if this a very early game for the system, it's pretty awful. MEGA SCHWARZCHILD

I do have a NEO GEO MVS cabinet but it needs to be fixed. There are about 18 games for it. For the most part I love NEO GEO games, but there are a few stinkers. All my NEO GEO videos are run on MAMEUI189 and work just great. I believe the difficulty on all of them are default difficulty (4); some arcade operators no doubt have changed the settings to harder/easier back in the day; World Heroes always seemed like it was set to 1 (way too easy!). I record video within it by way of File/Play And Record As Uncompressed AVI File tabs. I then have to compress with the File Factory program otherwise the video will be several gigabytes in size! -

Next NEO GEO review of mine: SOCCER BRAWL! Interesting little futuristic soccer game with robots. Hold down the A button to charge up a shot on offense or an arm punch (really cool-- you shoot your arm at opponents!) on defense. The goalies for either team are really, really good and gobble up pretty much every shot; you have to head it back into the net during his throwback attempt at JUST the right time to even hope to put it past him. Man, this game is tough.. the shootout that occurs when you end in a tie has the goalie either diving to block or just sliding in a standing stance left or right to block. You need to wait until JUST as the ball leaves the kicker's foot to react. Really hard game! -
I ONE HUNDRED PERCENT AGREE. I was so bummed there was no regular season mode as well. That's what I loved about NHL '96 for the Genesis when I got it.. endless fun with 2-player teammates trying to fire one-timers into the opponent net. My brother and I would high-five whenever we were successful. Good times.. plus, you could put in lots of letters for your name (which in my case was always dirty). Some gameplay of NHL '94, with my Devils winning!

More SEGA CD/MEGA CD clips! STAR WARS CHESS-- Rebel victory scenes: Very silly game of chess with goofy victory scenes of the Rebel Alliance pieces fighting the Sith/Dark Side pieces. SUPREME WARIIOR Yet another Digital Pictures game, this is actually a vs. beat-em-up with FMV scenes. Think STREET FIGHTER meets PRIZE FIGHTER. Pass. SEIMA DENSETSU: 3X3 EYES opening: Based on a manga.

Hey folks. Newest NEO GEO video review: STREET HOOP/STREET SLAM (1994, Data East) A rare DE game for the NEO GEO, this is a basketball game with a very cool outdoor court presentation and a funky song with weird words (Hanging on the blacktop, picking on T [?!]). Unfortunately the controls aren't helpful enough-- there should be at least 3 buttons, including one to control who you will pass the ball to-- but there's only 2. Although you can combine them to throw alley-oops. And the opponent dunks on you WAY too easily and even if you're in perfect position to block them it seldom seems to work! At least 3 point shots are easy to make, and you get a cool international flavor by picking from 10 different 3-man teams (FR, SP, US, ITA, TAI, KOR, JAP, CHN, ENG, GER). You can throw down ridiculous, gravity (and logic) defying dunks just like in NBA JAM. Pretty good for a while, until you get frustrated. At least the halves (yep, not quarters) are VERY short. -

How do you choose between the different game modes in Super Breakout in MAME? I seem to be stuck with Doubles.

Hey gang. Another video of mine reviewing a NEO GEO game; this one is FOOTBALL FRENZY. This is a decent game of football for the MVS cabinet, but the "frenzy" part of the title is appropriate for the button-mashing you have to do to run with the ball and shed tacklers or getting to the ball carrier to take them down. No licensing and there are made-up team names (oddly enough, not representing ANY cities!) but it's still fun and there are a ton of plays to choose from (not on an X and Os chart but in a list), and you can go for 2 after a touchdown! 3 tournament games are played and you then get to place your initials as champion-- one drawback is that you have to add a credit for EVERY QUARTER.
