  1. If I remember correctly, there was a Hard Drivin' cockpit machine in my local mall back in the day that had three monitors for the windshield and front side windows. I recall thinking at the time that it was an incredibly impressive driving simulator, with really a really cool stunt track that had a roller coaster loop in it. I mean it had...wait for it...3-D polygon graphics!
  2. Hey, sorry I didn't mean to sound like such an a-hole. Poor choice of words on my part--nice work you have done there. All who beat me down verbally were in the right. Didn't realize what a butthead I sounded like once I re-read my own post. Nice work there, for sure. Tired me verbalizing my thoughts incorrectly about ten different ways. Apologies, sincerely. Beatdown, upset still jobless me taking it out on the wrong parties when a bit short of sleep I guess, but no excuse still. So sorry, sincerely. Should have said something along the lines of "hey cool, check out another dude who did something similarly awesome!" Guess I still harbor a bit of frustration over having adopting affection for FB2 modding a couple of years too late, esp feeling it today when short of sleep, but no excuse. Real translation: jealous of the fantastic work both you cats did, for sure! Frustration over current fruitless job search and tiredness bled over into this forum. Sincere apologies to all. Please forgive my buttheaded-ness! I apologize wholeheartedly. Bitchen modders like the owner owner of this thread, live on!!!
  3. You jump on top of the key and press one of the buttons to grab it, I think the B button. You can throw it straight up to get it up to higher platforms. You can even throw it at some enemies to kill them, but don't drop it for long or it returns to its original spot. You should go to gamefaqs.com and read a faq. It'll answer all questions.
  4. Picked my Activision tee today--sweet! Saw the fantastically cool Scooby-Doo one that someone else mentioned also, but they didn't have it in my size.
  5. Sorry, but this guy had a prettier one done quite a while back: Details and more pix here: http://members.cox.net/rcolbert/Flashback.htm
  6. It's pretty easy--all the info is on the best electronics site, as well as many other places around the 'net.
  7. I agree with Godslabrat--pretty much the best original Gameboy game! Flightsuit, if you watch the cutscene it'll show you how to play. That little animation that shows Mario grabbing a key and carrying it to the locked door? That's it. As the game progresses, more and more tricks and solutions are revealed via these cutscenes, so pay attention as you go.
  8. Thank you! And don't try to jerk me around by making me pay for a GBA rehash of the NES title--ALL FOUR SCREENS, if you please! What's so hard about that?
  9. Awace, your post is unreadable. Try using punctuation marks and capitalization if you want your writing to make any sense. Looks like it was written by an illiterate mule.
  10. I have PM'd Waterborn and claimed: Dragonfire (Imagic) Dark Cavern (M-Network) Space Attack (M-Network) Gimme a day or two gang, and I'll get some stuff added to the list. I've been meaning to get off my butt and do that anyway, and this'll force me to finally do it!
  11. Stuff like that bugs me, too. I always read posts with people saying they "should of" bought something, or telling someone "your being rude." Also annoying are posts regarding current owners/proprietors of the Atari name, mentioning how "their wasting there property," etc. Ah well, maybe the minority of us who actually know how to spell, write and speak should just jump down the chim-a-nee of a nuke-you-lar power plant and off areselves. Prob-uh-lee would of been a good idea. Words with more than two syllables and homonyms are tough. You have to be smarter than a monkey to use them correctly.
  12. It'll never happen, at least not the way it's being talked about here. On the earlier Flashback units, many of the most popular and well-known titles had to be left out due to licensing issues, and this situation would only be worse for 5200 as its library is largely licensed arcade ports. Additionally, 8-bit Atari computer games aren't really compatible. The 8-bit computer games that are on 5200 have required changes/porting, etc. The 5200 has no keyboard and some of the hardware inside is different enough that you can't just put and 8-but computer rom in a 5200 cart--needs modification before it'll work. If anything "Flashback" comes out it'll be the 2600 portable, and I wouldn't hold my breath on that one even though there's video out of one being demoed. Heck, as great as I think Curt and the Legacy Engineering folks are, they seem to be having problems. Curt's health has been rough(so I've read around here), and I just looked at the USB CX-40 joystick thread and some people who ordered their sticks in November are still waiting.
  13. Agreed. Metal things not needed. I don't have a 32X anymore, but never used them when I did and had no problems.
  14. Huh? I always see people asking $10 or more for them, similar to the prices they ask for Mario or Donkey Kong Games, when their cheaper games are three to five bucks. I don't collect for NES so I'm not an authority on the subject by any means. Point was, Gyromite carts go for cheap if you can find them in the wild.
  15. No, they're not...and getting harder all the time due to people continually cannibalizing carts to obtain them. True that, but still the cheapest ones to get. Folks on Ebay know about it and ask $10(or more) plus shipping for 'em, but in the wild, Gyromite carts are cheap. You just gotta be patient. Usually the only NES carts I see for more than $5 are Super Mario 3 or gold Zelda carts or something 'special' like that, and from time to time I'll see a Gyromite for $3. If I still had all the NES stuff I once had, I'd hook you up, but these days I'm 2600 only as far as collecting goes. I have a 360 and just a few games for it, but hardly play the thing. *clenches eyes tight, suppressing the recent urges to buy a 7800* Sounds like you're looking for a less fragile, more manufactured-for-that-purpose solution anyway though.
  16. Some Hogan's Alley carts have it inside also. I would just go the route of Gyromite or Hogan's.
  17. I went to Google and typed in "NES light gun games." Google was completing my entry before I even finished. Wikipedia here tells why your LCD will not work. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_gun Everybody says it won't for a reason. It's pretty common knowledge. List of games here. http://www.mobygames.com/attribute/sheet/attributeId,280/ Took me all of five seconds to find this info.
  18. Wow, there is no way I would have passed that up. Assuming it's in good condition, that would easily be worth twice that, probably more. Oh well, hopefully someone who will appreciate it got it. Stuff was REALLY dirty and beat up. Looked like it had been on a dirt garage floor for years. Controllers looked broken at a glance. Trakball looked like someone got confused and used it in a game of kickball.
  19. Passed up a 5200 with trakball and a bunch of games for $35 at a yard sale this morning. Must've been 20 games in the box of stuff--saw Buck Rogers, Miner 2049er and Galaxian. I would've tried to haggle 'em down, but don't really want a 5200. I looked at the stuff and told the ladies to have a nice day. They didn't exactly jump up saying they'd take less or anything. It was by FAR the most expensive thing at their sale. A 7800 would've warranted harder effort, but whatever. They had a Vic 20 with a bunch of game cartridges as well. It wasn't priced and I didn't even ask how much it was.
  20. From what I've read at dealextreme the 16-bit emulation is slow, buggy, and chuggy--hardly usable.
  21. I'm also curious. Chiming in here just to subscribe to this thread.
  22. Hope the implementation of fancier graphics hasn't gotten the mechanics and control all screwed up in the process, a la Sonic Advance, but with Shigeru Miyamoto on board it's probably a winner. Hope there's none of that crap where the game is crippled for single player either. Why did I opt for a 360 'stead of a Wii again? Oh yeah, I thought it would play more than one out of every fifty-seven original Xbox games. Kinda thought there were more games that are more 'grownup' style too, and I still think I'm right on that, but between House of the Dead, the new Punch Out and this new game my Wii jones is getting stronger and stronger...
