  1. It's NOT your imagination. The STAR FIRE logo does look like it's been inspired by the STAR WARS logo, even back in the game's heyday, and those spacecraft do look a heckuva lot like Tie Fighters and Star Destroyers from the movie. Amazing, too, that Exidy got away with it almost like right under the nose of LucasFilms...I think. Anyway, I really loved playing that arcade game; it was the closest thing to playing Star Wars as a videogame until Atari's Star Wars arcade game in 1983.
  2. I'd rather have DVD-type cases for the Sega CD games...if they had thought of such before DVDs came around.
  3. Not bad. I always thought Star Fire was just some kind of timed game shoot-em-up, when I last played it in the arcade. Here it's like an alternate take on games like Star Voyager. Excellent music.
  4. Sony should have called it the PS2-X. I wonder if that thing will also make pizza? LOL
  5. And I thought you meant those sit-down table models, which would be interesting to see for a home console system, though I could only wonder how you would get the image to flip for the other player in two-player games that alternate turns.
  6. Quarth is the perfect game to play wherever you go...or whenever you have to go.
  7. I liked playing the game with paddles. I tried playing Astroblast years ago using a trackball controller and it didn't work any better than using a joystick. Unfortunately, I can't play this on an emulator without it having to use joystick mode as its default, unless somebody knows how to get it to use paddle mode instead.
  8. Now it's working. Pretty good commercial. Excellent music.
  9. The aftermarket label version is a whole lot better looking than the Polyvox version.
  10. Only if the "new Atari" has access to their own hardware R&D division that can develop a good enough system to have a crack at competing against the likes of Nintendo, Sony, and X-Box, if that's what you mean. Otherwise, they may be better off enjoying software development.
  11. I enjoyed Shadows Of The Empire, though that game was hard in some areas. Could use more games like that. Rogue Squadron was too difficult for me to get into -- too mission-driven. And I haven't played Episode 1: Pod Racer or Battle For Naboo.
  12. I would like to see games like Sewer Shark, Double Switch, and Ground Zero, Texas redone for the modern systems.
  13. I'm having trouble trying to get the commercial to download. The link only leads me to a blank page.
  14. The "Atari" that's producing this Sega game compilation for a Nintendo system is not even the original Atari, but a European company that's engulfed previous game companies (including what was left of the original Atari) to become what it currently is.
  15. BTW, backspace is Game Select, and enter/return is Game Reset. Anyway, it does pretty good on Atari 2600 emulation so far, at least with games with 4K memory at maximum. Some graphical problems with some games, but not a whole lot to complain about.
  16. On average, I would pay around $100-150 for a new system, not including a starter game and any necessary items like memory cards.
  17. It's the love of money that is the root of all evil. (God's word says so.)
  18. Re-release Smurf: Rescue In Gargamel's Castle for the 2600 and have more classic arcade translations for the 7800.
  19. The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: The Arcade Game.
  20. Sometimes the game throws in little cues as to which direction you should go such as flashing objects, and sometimes the flashing objects may alert you to use the sword button. Anyway, the whole game is animated and is played off the laserdisk.
  21. I can agree with that. Final Fantasy games to me might as well be like playing Dungeons & Dragons with paper and dice, which may make it interesting as far as devising mental strategy but lacks the reality of just picking up a sword and shield and duking it out with whatever comes your way, like in the Zelda games.
  22. "Rambo in Jurassic Park" is the best way I can describe a Turok game.
  23. Terminator 2: The Arcade Game for Genesis was made for use with the Menacer light gun. Don't know about Aerosmith: Revolution X, though.
  24. Bundling the Gamecube with the Gameboy Player adapter? Sounds like a good idea. Only wish the adapter didn't have to require a start-up disk in order to play the Gameboy carts. But still something to look into possibly purchasing.
