  1. Of the systems I personally bought: Atari 7800 - for all its games when it initially came out. NES - for the games that were available through rental. SNES - for Mario Paint, since I was into doing video productions. The other games drew me into being a long-time owner of the system. Genesis - for the Sonic games. Unfortunately the other games didn't draw me in as did the SNES games. I also bought the Power Base Converter for it, which fortunately only worked with the model Genesis I had bought. Gameboy - for Tetris. The Super Gameboy accessory for the SNES made me buy as many games for the system as I did Atari 2600 games, just to see how they looked and played on a TV screen. Sega CD - for the Digital Pictures games. Game Gear - for the Sonic games and Pac-Man. N64 - for Super Mario 64. Playstation 2 - for Dark Cloud, which was a disappointing attempt of trying to one-up on Zelda 64. Not too many games for this system that I particularly liked. Gamecube - for Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Wii - for Super Mario Galaxy and Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Xbox 360 - for The Simpsons Game and Oblivion. Nintendo DS Lite - possibly for Super Mario 64 DS, which was disappointing. They should have saved this game for the upcoming 3DS. PSP - for no particular game.
  2. Not an unpopular game system, but a relatively unpopular personal computer...the Timex/Sinclair 1000. It was fun mostly for my trying to write my own BASIC programming games for it. My family did eventually get a TI 99/4A, but we didn't get any popular games for it, just Hunt The Wumpus. My own first personal computer was the Adam Family Computer System, which I bought the full version of when it was discounted to half its original asking price in 1985. In retrospect, I would have preferred getting the Atari 8-bit personal computers, since they were the Holy Grail of that particular section of videogaming.
  3. This generation may arguably be the last good generation for video games. I'm just not sure how the next generation, whenever it will come, will top what's currently available, whether it will be a big enough leap from this generation or just a short hop.
  4. I prefer easy difficulty myself. Just disappointed that Easy on PC Dragon Age: Origins is a little harder than Casual on the Xbox 360 version. But I got some mods for the PC version to make going through the game a potential cakewalk. With the Dragon Age games, I'm playing mostly as female characters, with some exceptions depending on the various origins in Origins. I mostly avoid the romance options because I want to play my character as a straight-up hero without anything to tie me down.
  5. I'm just having too much fun slicing up my enemies and serving them on a stick to really notice at this point.
  6. I got the full Xbox 360 version, and found out the ogre is beatable on Casual, though it still required a few health potions to heal everybody.
  7. The GameWave is such a "powerful game system" that it even defies gravity!!!
  8. Is Miyamoto trying to pull off the Evil Oriental Toady Smile or the Austin Powers Smile in that picture?
  9. Would be interesting to get if I could get a big enough HDTV to justify moving my game systems into my living room instead of constantly being stuck in my bedroom.
  10. I also played the Xbox 360 demo of the game, and yes, it is a button masher, like a combat-heavy Legend of Zelda game on steroids. More disappointing is that I got my butt beat by the ogre in the actual story, because I don't know what in fart's name I'm supposed to do.
  11. Painfully hard to control the character(s) in the PC demo when you have no idea what controls are supposed to do what.
  12. Don't know, since I haven't played any of the Prince of Persia games. The only game I encountered so far that had the quicktime sequences showing what buttons or joystick movements to make was Dante's Inferno.
  13. My comment on the Dragon's Lair-ish quicktime sequences: I'm only glad that the producers of the games even bothered to show what button you need to press or which direction you need to push the thumbstick at the right time rather than leave you guessing with a lot of blind trial-and-error.
  14. So why is the arcade game based on Frontiers?
  15. You might as well rename the topic just "video game characters with facial hair". The ones I'm seeing past the first few posts are getting less and less famous.
  16. Limited lives for a Mario platform game has got to go.
  17. Rate the game M for Mature, and rate the company M for Morons.

  19. Interesting game. I just wish something like Only Solutions could be hacked as a recurring song for Adventures Of Tron.
  20. Love the alternating blue-and-white color scheme of the cartridges. By the way, can you please do an article about the game on the Smurfs Wikia?
  21. Wish I had that during the time when I was making fake pamphlets for my fictional videogame system, the FuturaVision.
  22. Indestructible Environment = Grand Theft Auto Hell
