  1. I paid for the re-print of the first issue and never received it. I'm also subscribed to six issues of this magazine... Can you confirm I will receive? Hi, We still haven't heard from you regarding this matter. Our offer to send another issue still stands if your copy never arrived. Please contact me at [email protected] at your earliest convenience. You are also welcome to a free digital copy of Issue #3 until the print version arrives from the printers. Edit: We are happy to assist, so do not hesitate to contact us. Hello! Sorry been away from my computer for a while. I have sent you a PM. Should have done that first I suppose... Thanks for getting back to me.
  2. Love the Garak Profile. Him and O'Brian are my favorite characters from DS9! :)

  3. Wow! I wish we had a teacher like you when I was at school (although I did have an Atari at home then... ) This sounds like a great idea. If you are going to split the signal it would be worth performing an A/V MOD on the atari as splitting an RF signal can cause a snowy image (especially when run through a signal amplifier.) Can't wait to see some photo's of the Cab... What a great idea! And you are spreading your love and knowledge of the 2600 too!
  4. My Thoughts - I'm no expert though... Most early computers did not include a Hardware Scrolling capability. Some relied on the CPU for all graphical output. Plus scrolling means moving data in and out of memory which would use a lot of the CPU cycles in a system without DMA.
  5. Was This a trick to get me to visit your site I like it!

  7. I brought a Vectrex a while ago as fully working... And when I tested it it looked fine. But if the unit is left on for more than 30 minutes or so the screen picture starts to fluctuate in size (gets smaller then bigger). Anyone here know what's up with it?
  8. I have a few! Too many to type while on my iPhone anyway You can see almost everything I own here: http://www.retro-zone.org/my_collection.htm I need to update it a little as I now have a snes and game boy advance and some other items.
  9. I know the BIOS checks the US/JPN select in the base unit, and would not be surprised if it checked the 50/60 Hz as well. It does actually. My Sega CD won't work if my Genesis is switched to 50 Hz. Thanks everybody for your help. That settles it - I either need a US Genesis or a UK Mega CD Thanks again!
  10. Hi All, Is it possible to buy a Sega CD from the US and use it with a UK Mega Drive (Genesis)? Has anyone tried this?
  11. There is no conversion cable as the signals are different. You would need a decoder with composite out to connect to that tv. Or you could do a composite out modification on the console itself. I don't know of any easy ways out of this problem.
  12. if you want to record your pc screen you can use camstudio. Get it free from sourceforge.net
  13. I have one with all the attachments. I have never been able to use it. I have tried all the different serial connection options but all I get is "cannot communicate with Hardware - check connections". Frustrating as it cost me quite a lot of money. Nearly threw it away last week - cant see any point in keeping it.
  14. The Mega drive has a motorolla 68000 processor but does use a Zilog Z80 for sound and input / output processing. The master system only has a Zilog Z80 for all tasks. The Powerbase Converter (which allows you to play Master System games on the Mega Drive) reroutes the cartridge to use the Z80 processor already in the Mega Drive. But it does contain a Mega Drive ROM image which instructs the Mega Drive on what to do with the input. This means that Master System games will only work on the Mega Drive WITH the powerbase converter. If you try to plug them in directly it is likely you will damage the cart and/or megadrive.
  15. Hi, I would be happy to help. I Owe Al one anyways as he has just programmed some ATTINY chips for me... Do we need to own the game or can we record from an emulator (on PC for example) with CamStudio? (free software and no watermark) I have a youtube channel already (search for retrozoneorg) so am not entirly new at this. Of course anything I record will be sent to Al or yourself for posting. Really am happy to help so - what now?
  16. I've never been called a fan boy before. I like all systems and each one has a special series of games. It was a close match though eh? As for Tetris "L" block..... That's just silly
  17. I Voted for.......... Mario! He's trailing a bit people! Vote for him! He appeared on the the Atari!!!!!! You know, voting for a certain character just because he had games on a certain system is called fanboyism. Plus, this is a character battle, not a game battle. You're supposed to cast your vote depending on whose character is better. And like I said, Mario has no personality at all. In which case I would still vote Mario - Prefer my games to be fun.... Not Depressing and violent.

  19. How did you find those sites? Whenever I log onto Geocities I just get a holding page and cant get access to the search facility!
  20. I Blame it on the Time Difference!
  21. Doesn't anyone here like the Amstrad CPC's??? They were great and soooooo much better than the spectrum (before someone tries to kill me that was a joke!!!) In the UK we also had the Dragon 32 and Dragon 64 which were almost the same as the Tandy CoCo. It didn't do very well at all...
  22. I have 2 Channel F model 2's now. Most of the games are simple and similar to the very early Atari 2600 titles. Although the sound is a lot more primitive. The Fairchild is one of those machines people want to own becuase "it's a part of history" being the first games machine to accept programmable cartridges. It's design is very formal - it almost looks like a business machine and I guess it was supposed to look at home on the coffee table. There were a number of add-ons planned including a numeric keypad and several keypad games. Does anyone know it a prototype for these exist. I have photos on a software catalouge from the time. Anyway thought I would include a photo of my Channel F too enjoy!
  23. I own a lot of consoles / computers now but I still have my favorites. Mattel Aquarius (because it's so strange) Intellivision (becuase of it's funny controllers!) Amstrad CPC (because it's what I used to write my first BASIC program) The GX4000 (becuase it never stood a chance) Commodore 64 (becuase of the great SID sound chip!) Acorn Electron (Chuckie Egg!) SNES (because of Mode 7, the FX chip, and the Clay Fighters Theme Tune!)
