I only have donkey kong jr.,pac man, astroids and missile command so I wouldn't mind a combat cart if someone has one to spare. Heck I wouldn't mind paying a bit for common carts especially for games that are considered classic and must haves. Ms. pacman is at the top of my list of to get games so that my girlfriend stops nagging at me that the screen on pacman never changes. I'm much more interested in getting carts for play value rather than the collecting of carts.

Sega GameGear and Dr.Robotnick's Mean Bean Machine and NFL '95 for trade. Looking mainly for common atari games. Most interested in fun to play ones.

I know. I was just teasing.

Yeah, it would suck to have two heavy sixers. Right.
-
Ah. Thanks a lot. That pic really helped.

I was looking at the pictures on the site of the differences between a heavy sixer and a regular six switch and managed to confuse myself about what my atari is. I only have the one so i have no way to compare. From what I see in the picture for the heavy sixer my atari's top part looks like it's a heavy sixer while the base looks like its from a six switch. There is no orange band around the switch and cartridge section as there is in the picture with the six switch. When looking at the base though in the picture it looks like the bottom plastic edges when brought together on the heavy sixer seem to make a U while on the six switch they seem to make a V. Well my atari makes the V'ish shape at the base. Are there any pictures online with the internals of the atari showing the differences?

Actually, the video is pretty good. I though the original cable was cracked/broken but after taking off the electrical tape there was nothing there but virgin cable. The new cables, from radio shack, picture quality is much worse for whatever reason than the original cable. I didn't really test the atari since the on/off switch is hard to use. So I had no idea as to what the picture quality would be like. On that note if anyone has a spare on/off switch they could spare please contact me. It's the only part I need to get my 6 switch in factory like condition.

Thanks for all your help guys. Worked like a charm. It cost 6$ canadian so like 3$ american. I also picked up a new RF cable as well and to my surprise the picture quality with it is worse than with the original RF cable that has cracks in it. Odd.

Thanks a lot for the information. I was planning on going down to Radio Shack after I'm done classes. This will save me a lot of time.
-
Yeah I figured I would go to radio shack and see if they have anything like this first. Just didn't know it was an option as I always thought you had to use a switchbox.

I need to replace my RF cable and was under the impression that the RF cable HAD to go to a manual switch box. I came across this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1390005697 on ebay. Would this work without the switch box?

If anyone has one lying around in new or in good used condition I would love to buy it from you at a reasonable price. Contact me at my email address or any of the messaging services I have listed in my profile.

I could do that for the time being but it would bother me knowing that theres a wonky switch in there. If I have to I will just order the parts from the states but I would rather ask around first to try and save some money.

I finally found an atari 2600 at a flea market. However, I got it super cheap and in not working condition. Having read about possible problems on the internet i'm 99% sure that it's just an issue with the power on/off being worn out. The system does work if you position the switch just right but the slightest of tug and the signal goes. If anyone has any other idea as to what could cause this please let me know. My question is: Is there any place in Canada to order a replacement on/off switch? I'm assuming that it would be fairly inexpensive so I don't want to go to the trouble of paying for a US money order for an amount less than 10$. Thanks for any leads.
