Ok so this one has proven to be pretty difficult, but how would I make one part of the playfield static, another part move only horizontally, and one part vertically, like in battlezone how the mountain scrolls, the ground scrolls, and the tank stays in the center.

Sorry theloon, I have an idea of how to do it, but I don't want to spend several hours trying to implement it, while still not yet having completed my first game, and as my first game is a bit of a battlezone clone, its pretty ambitious as it is.

Whenever I try to compile, There is an error on the line containing the pfheights:? Sorry for making two posts about this, i think everyone saw the first one and thought I was asking them to make it for me, but my problem is that I cannot find a fix that works for me.

Alright, on a plain test project I found out how to get pf colors and pf heights to respond, but why does it still give the syntax error on the first line

Hi, I'm working on an idea I had to make a wolfenstein 3d type game with batari basic and I can't quite get come things to work to improve my game from the very basic form it is in now. Can anyone help me find out why pfcolors, pfheights, scrolling, and sprite animation never work when I try to add them? I'll attach what I have so far, the last working version without any of the four things from before that cause syntax and black screen errors. Thanks Greg 3Dgame.bas

Thanks, and I found PFHEIGHT and that helped me fix my playfield. Back to work.

Also player1 is now black and no COLUP1=$98 will fix it

Ok that's all working good thanks for all your help by the way, the next problem to work out is how do I make player2's x centered in the sprite, using a basic chase command the x only lines up to the left boundary.

Also, does the kernel reverse the x and y? Positioning and x/y + 1 are bottom to top now. After a bit of editing the sprites are now back to normal, the playfield needs some rescaling or something

Wow, thank you for the fix and fast delivery, the game no longer has a black screen but the playfield and sprites are a bit stretched, what do I need to add in to fix that?

Sorry to add yet another error thread but this problem is no longer avoidable as I continue to try and teach myself Bb. I am writing my first game and whenever I try to add in the multisprite kernal and/or player2+'s info, I compile and get a black screen. Experimenting with different includefiles and romsizes causes Stella to not even open the rom. i tried researching this but all the threads are either buried or I can't find what fixes the problem. I attached the program so far if some coding wizard would like to help me. Thank you tf2600.bas

Neat idea I had for a forum game, What two carts would you combine, and what would you name the new game? Ex: PacMan + Tunnel Runner = Magic Maze Or atleast something like that.

Just found the app and love it. This makes the official atari collection for iphone seem so inferior. Plus the controls aren't awkward. possibly the best IOS app I have.

Wow the vectrex, I have like 3 games for that and the system itself. It's so hard to open out the controller!
