The pads with the songs integrated are aparantly quite shitty, just like MIDI remakes of the songs. You don't actually have to buy DDR for the computer, there is a program called 'Stepmania' and it functions in the same manner and you can get songs and steps from the links on the stepmania site. http://www.stepmania.com/stepmania/getstarted.php The Playstation DDR games are pretty sweet too... Make sure you get a decent pad, the 20 dollar one you described sounds of poor quality. If you get a decent pad, it'll last alot longer. Check the fourms ddrfreak.com, although they're one of the worst fourms I've ever visited, they do know alot about DDR.

No you can use Dial-Up. Unless you have a Dial-Up connection, you're SOL. The software is very plentiful, it came with every Dreamcast ever made (actually I'm not too sure, but I assume) and updates were distributed with issues of ODCM. You don't need a keyboard either, the controller will suffice. It's not very easy to type things of detail with the controller. But nevertheless it's got a certain appeal I bought my DC at launch, and it came with the Web Browser in a regular DC game case. I don't feel like looking through issues of ODCM, I think Version 2 of the browser was around September 2000. That continued till Feb 2001 when version 2.6 looks like it was released... Again, I don't know how exact this is, i'm just going by the covers of my demo discs. Therefore Demo Disc Volumes 7-11 will contain the browser. The last issue of the magazine didn't contain a browser because there was no GD-ROM in that issue. Version 2 of the browser was vastly improved, and had java support.

Browser updates were distributed usually with ODCM, so look for one of the later issues to get the later browsers. Version 1 is pretty ghetto compared to the later ones. If only we'd seen the Zip Drive and the MP3 player...so much unexploited coolness.

Space Station Silicon Valley will not work if you have an expansion pak. I remember that from GamePro back when the pak launched.
