Just now discovered this thread. Since there are schematics above, it seems there is all the necessary information to make FPGA version of the Tutor.

I've built a TMS9995 system on breadboard in the past, but it's been a few years ago.

It's mind-blowing how they just copied the TI-99/4A. Still no proper CPU RAM (sigh).

Notably in the schematics VDP_CS is in the same address for both reads and writes, since the TMS9995 does not perform a read operation before each write, unlike the TMS9900. The TI-99/4A places VDP read and write ports to different address in order to avoid problems with these reads to write ports.

If you want minimal, check out the Jr layout.  Wow!  (From Cameron’s site)

Hoping that EVERYTHING - even the trip reports and memos are posted when all is said and done. As a services and R&D manager myself today for an aerospace tech company, I find this stuff just totally fascinating.

I'll scan everything that I have.  It'll all go up here first, and then I need someone's help with renaming it all, sorting it, and uploading it properly to WHTech into the right spots.  Also, now that we have people taking my "whitened - deskewed scans" and applying OCR, we need to figure out which ones of these should be chosen as well.

While I appreciate everyone helping out with the OCR - and it's good that a few people have done so - let's coordinate who's doing OCR and figure that out so we don't have a lot of different things to worry about choosing from.  Maybe an "OCR" thread to separate it all.

3. acadiel Are you going, or have you attempted, to apply OCR to these documents?

Right now, I’m just scanning them. I have a lot more to go. OCR is a whole next level of difficulty. I am scanning them at 600-1200 DPI, so someone is welcome to OCR them to help out :-)

Notice I haven’t put them on Whtech yet - I want them properly named and organized (and maybe OCR’d) before they go there.

In my MG 80K GramKracker, I use GRAM 0 for lowercase, GRAM 1 & GRAM 2 for an enhanced TI Basic w/EA Basic support code; thereby allowing me to use GRAMs 3 - 7 for MSAVEd TI Basic Plus programs.  Due to both RAM banks being bad (chips or switch bad?) I can't do ROM pages.   Due to my age and health I don't have time to do all that's on my plate.  I have to take my daughter to Las vegas this afternoon to pick up her just repaired car, and tomorrow I have to go back to Vegas for a Doctor's appointment.  Fortunately these are the shorter trips to Vegas from Bullhead City, AZ.  Usually my Doctor appointments are in North Las Vegas (VA hospital) or Northeast Las Vegas Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center or nearby Heart Clinic.  These non-VA appointments are due to LV VA not able to perform TAVR procedure which, in my case, caused my right groin artery to break, so they had to put a stint in it causing a prolonged recovery time.  I now have a full beard due to blood thinners making shaving dangerous, even with an electric razor!  So I'm always very thankful for any help I can get with hobby and other things that are difficult or dangerous for me to do.  I can pay for some things as long as they're reasonably priced, as I'm having to pay for some of the non-VA medical charges myself (no other insurance, except Medi-care A).

Bill, @FALCOR4 is here on the forums and can likely help troubleshoot your GK.  We also have the test utilities (burn in) that I uploaded to Whtech that can help diagnose what’s malfunctioning.

Hello Everyone and thanks for all the hard work!

I am the proud owner of a not so bouncing baby Gram Kracker :)

I found the GK 1.0 files on WHTECH.

Where can I get the GK Utilities I disk?  Are there any other utilities, disks that came out the GK that anyone can share?

I am just learning the GK so I will be asking lots of questions.

Thanks

We have the test utilities and such now to verify the GK operation on Whtech.  I thought that the disk image of the utilities was there as well.

6. Answered my own question above about the contents of the Cartridge adapter ROM.

The Pyuuta boots up fine without the internal 16K rom if you have the cartridge adapter plugged in.  Both JP and US BIOS.

This means that the second half of 32K of the 27512 has both the JP BIOS and JP BASIC on it.  Otherwise, the system wouldn’t boot without the internal rom inside.

And yes, if you take the internal ROM and don’t plug in the replacement, the SN74689 remains uninitialized, a sound very familiar to us.
