All I have to say is:
Wow.

Lee, would you want the Inverted 64K version that Jon's boards have or the 512K Non-Inverted version that I just recently put into the CAD program? The advantage of the latter is that it can also be burned into the 512K Uber-GROM carts once we get those working. Like Jon's cart, it uses a standard DIP EPROM and will work with everything from an 8K to a 512K EPROM. I'll know in a couple of weeks if they work like they're supposed to, as I have a small batch on order for testing. There are a lot of Jon's boards out there too, which is a plus for them (I like both types, but I had a wild hair last weekend and decided to modify the 512K inverted board I pictured in the cartridge thread last week to act as a contiguous 512K cart as opposed to 4 128K cartridges in a single case).
I'm sure that we can probably hack together a program very easily that can take a >=16K ROM image and flip the 8K banks. We can call it "The deinverter" LOL

Excellent - getting in touch with Bill is still up in the air with my Yahoo! registration. Perhaps I ought to re-sign up for that.....
Thanks for the help. I think it'll be worth the effort
.I also emailed Bill Gaskill as well... so I'm hoping between him or Mike Wright, we can find a good 972. If not, then well, we're at the mercy of someone who might have one in their collection.

I sent an email to the author of the Cyc asking if he had an uncorrupted disk #972 he could re-image.

I'm amazed archive.org has that large of a collection, including the TOSEC (which is about every commercial program made for every computer in existence). It's almost like a huge 80's warez site. LOL

Got both the black and red boards in today, Ksarul - very nice job getting them re-laid out! Thank you! Let me know what I owe you. I need to restock some more parts at Mouser that I'm missing, most notably the sockets and some of the caps.
Is there a cost differential between the 379 (128Kx4) and the 378 (512K) boards at all? I'm gathering if we just inverted '379 ROMs (every 8K bank), we can probably just stick with the 378 boards, as they can take everything.
BTW, For the boards with the 0.1" two pronged switches... any good ideas on switches that might fit? I was just soldering wire and putting an external switch, but if there's a through hole 0.1" two pronged switch that's right angle, that'd be awesome. Too bad I can't search by hole distance on Mouser.

FYI, attached is a very high resolution two-sided scan of both the boards Ksarul sent me. Enjoy.

We already have the Hexbus ROM, but I still need to "guess" a suitable hardware for it; this is the main problem. Apart from the fact that there is still a lot of other things to do before.
To do it properly, we need the schematics of a Hexbus floppy. Unlike our 4A peripheral devices, the Hexbus devices are more autonomous; they have an own CPU with a device operating system. On the other hand, as we only have high-level commands on the Hexbus, we can do something like an "abstract floppy drive", that is, when we have a command like "read a sector", we'll deliver the sector contents from the disk image, and not involve a complete disk controller emulation.
I do have the Hexbus floppy schematics from Michael Becker. Be glad to send them to you.

You can see Exbasic II in action in the TI-99/8 emulation in MESS. However, at this time you cannot use floppy support because we still need a Hexbus floppy emulation. The DSRs on the existing controller cards do not work with Exbasic II. Briefly, Exbasic II sets up the PAB in CPU RAM instead of VDP RAM, and finally locks up; you can start it when you don't plug in any controller for now.
On the Geneve we have ABASIC.
Did the EPROM from the Hexbus controller for the /4A help with that any?

Is that Axel F you ported this Amiga MOD, Tursi?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9zmLQGBTIw
If so, it's a pretty darn good port!

Ah, did not know about that. Though, I would like to support our dwindling number of Amiga vendors, too.
So, if you get the A1200 version, do you just permanently leave your top shield off if you use one of these?
I do have their ACA1232 (40Mhz) version with clock in my A1200... couldn't ask for a better constructed board.

Just ran this in Classic99... sounds awseome!
BTW, wanted to ask you about the maps for Road Hunter and Titanium - I see that you have INT/FIX 80 files in the archives; are these loaded dynamically so that you can update/load maps on the fly? Just curious.

That's the thing about the Internet - it can be as anonymous as you want it to be. If TI Sissy is or isn't the pictures he/she posted, then that's up to him or her.
All I know is that there's been tension in between a lot of you TI stalwarts even in this thread. The problem is that I like all of you and am very thankful for all of your contributions. From Classic99 to TI Neverlander to TKGROM0, to DeZip, etc, all of you have contributed quite a bit. Please be nice to each other.

I have to second (or whatever place I'm now...) the profit margins are pretty slim.
I think part of the problem is volume. Since this is pretty exclusively a hobby thing, one can't order enough parts and supplies to get a price break to build the *widget* and still make any money after the R&D and build process.
For me, it's a learning tool and fun at the same time so I have justified the "profit" as knowledge gained, not monetarily. Definitely not a business model that's destined for success. But, that doesn't stop me from trying, learning, and having fun. That's my return on investment.
Plant the seeds, some WILL grow!
Cheers!

It was like when I was building the cartridge boards... I really didn't have an EPROM programmer and had to go out and buy one. That, and some other things (like a PLCC to DIP adapter). So yeah, it wound up being some money out of my pocket too, but the point was that it was *fun* :-)
Unfortunately, as the kids get older, I have less and less time because of other commitments to "play around" - band, orchestra, piano lessons, confirmation, etc, all take time away from hobby time. I'm glad there aren't sports in there too.

Anyone have experience hooking one of these 15Khz converters up to a SGCPU (99/4P) or a Geneve?
If so, please share pinouts, etc.

Amazing this person sold 17 of these at 939.99 euros each already. -- i am in wrong business.
Amazingly, another guy is selling Amiga flicker fixers for the same inflated prices. Are these made of gold?

I figure it is time to upload this one, as it may help decode how TI was thinking when they programmed sound lists. Here's the original documented source code for Parsec, as editable text. It may not be perfect in the GROMs, as I haven't tried to run it through a GPL Assembler (it was written for the TI version, and would require some changes to make it run in the various third-party GPL Assemblers, IIRC). The Assembly portion should assemble correctly now, according to Paul.
I hate to diverge and topic hijack, but does anyone have the below in disk format already?

Charlie Good scanned it for me, and put it up on WHTech - it's part of the original disk source of Munchman. It'd be cool to compare it to the GROM source code if anyone has it.

It might be ironic, but I am terrible at reading schematics
or even diagrams that are technical. The clasps were a few hundreths off.. wouldn't have noticed it until I did the assembly to put the two halves together.

I fixed it... so it's good now.
Note, I only updated the bottom.
Here's all the files attached again.

Ok, first video is up, here is the link:
and
Got reminded I have a couple of projects way overdue, now that life is being more tolerable I can get back on them.
That is awesome!
I did an assembly tonight with the two halves... and made a PDF of all the different views (and some sections). I think I found one problem; see if you can spot it :-)

Are the 9128 chips simply 16Kx8 (i.e. equivalent of a 27128, or 16K apiece?)
If there are three of those, then there's 48K combined of ROM and GROM code?
i'm guessing the socketed chip with the green dot is a PAL?
Edit: I saw that the N82 chip is this one: http://www.plccenter.com/buy/SIGNETICS/N82S23N - 32Kx8 - equivalent of a 27256, or 32K.
I've never seen a ROM of that vintage in that DIP size.
So, 48K GROM + 32K ROM?
-
Neat project, but at 200 Euros, that's getting pretty steep.

Yep... but the geek in me screams "I WANT ONE"
