Yep... but the geek in me screams "I WANT ONE"
-
We should write a TI-99/4A core for this with all sorts of expansions... just think; we have the TI-99/4P code and all the SNUG cards' FPGA code, the Geneve code, Tursi's FPGA GROM simulator code, The F18A code for the VDP, etc. :-) http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=96 Hey, one can dream, right? We could very well be on this list one day: https://code.google.com/p/mist-board/wiki/ListOfFPGAProjects

How about Lady Bug from Colecovision? http://www.consoleclassix.com/colecovision/lady_bug.html With the F18A, I betcha you could make it look REAL nice.

3D Printed Objects/Cases & Carts for the TI
acadiel replied to Omega-TI's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Yeah, we tried a rough version of it last fall on a Makerbot, at the community college, and it really did curl up because of its surface area. We had to use the Dimension printer (it actually fills in support material you break off after you finish) to get a good print. Plus I think the Dimension used ABS, and the material seemed a bit sturdier. -

Cool! Please let me know if I need to adjust anything in Inventor; I can tweak whatever needs to be tweaked. -

Yep, it's just being done for the fun of it on my part. :-) -

It was in inches. Shapeways seems to be able to parse it OK (here's what it sees): -
Jens-Eike! How are you????

Woot! Are these the ones I made a while back with the switches? I'm gathering you ran them through the ExpressPCB->Gerber converter?

It's in the LHA file on Aminet. Robotwo, do you have the link for the mod? -
Hey Vorticon - a game that I used to play (but didn't see on TI Gameshelf) on my /4A was a Tetris clone that used Scarborough Fair for the tune... does anyone remember this, and can we find it and put it on TI Gameshelf?

I've had probably 13 people mirror the new site already... I plan on leaving it as-is for right now until I get free cycles (or one of my kids gets some free cycles) to put it into iWeb or another editing program to look like the rest of hexbus.com.

That is Mike's wife Veronica helping out due to his health issues. And yes, they are still adding files and let you do a diff to get a new copy. I believe the PC99 prerequisite to get the CYC is due to the materials on the CYC being tied to being used with PC99, so you need it to get the added material. Might be the way Mike negotiated the licence with TI to provide the manuals, etc, on the CYC CD.

ROTFL! Oh man, I haven't laughed this hard in a while. Thanks for the funny thread

Around 2003, Mike Wright did show a Windows prototype with speech. However, since then, I believe he has had health problems and has dropped out of active participation in the community. He will still sell/service the DOS version, but that's about it. Someone want to go in and make an offer for CADD's PC99 assets with me? If anything, to get the source into hands of people like MIchael Zapf, Tursi, Fred Kaal, etc.

Has anyone tried one of these off of eBay yet to see if they will work with the TI's floppy controller? http://cortexamigafloppydrive.wordpress.com/ (Note the above is where an Amiga enthuiast reprogrammed the firmware to work with an Amiga. The GoTek by default should work with PC compatible images, but it probably doesn't know about PC99 or V9T9 images.) I've seen them go for as low as $9.99 - a huge price differential compared to the HxC.

3D Printed Objects/Cases & Carts for the TI
acadiel replied to Omega-TI's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Yep, the only thing I'm worried about were a few thin parts Shapeways identified (upload the STL files and see what I mean). I think it was just the top half that had the problem. Thanks for checking it out, Nathan! Edit: Also, couldn't figure out the screw hole size for the top... will likely just drill something with a small drill bit to figure out what I need to put there. -
https://atariage.com/forums/topic/55936-can-marble-man-ever-be-released/ This thread reminded me of the same situation our community finds itself in with the unreleased Tutankham game. Same story, it sounds like. Developer owns original, maybe one other person owns a copy. Both will not ever distribute them to share with the world, or even check with whomever owns copyright on it if they can do something like Tursi/PC99 did with their TI ROM/GROMs. Very sad that a couple people hoard up these without letting people play them.

Can you check the STL's I posted and see how they look? I'm going to run them by my instructor to see if he'll double check them. Here's what I can export to as well... -

Here you guys (and gals) go. Have fun. It's still a draft and I have not checked tolerances yet for too thin junctures, nor have I tried to print it. tishell_draft.zip.zip -
Yep, best to put an email alert on his user id.

Horizon RAMdisk ROS and CFG Development
acadiel replied to InsaneMultitasker's topic in TI-99/4A Development
I've corrupted ROS with TI Workshop before. I remember Tursi looking at the illegal memory writes a while back. From then on, I only used DM2K for disk management in a RAMdisk system. :-)
