Another reminder to avoid emulators when doing anything but playing games. So, if I want to make a Bootable BEWE DOS disk, which file should I set to BOOT?

Adjustment made.

Alright, I created the 16MB image with makeATR.exe. I then loaded it into Atari 800Win Plus 3.1 as drive 2. I loaded the MyDOS atr with FMTDIR as drive 1. And I booted from a Cart Image of SpartaDOS X. After running FMTDIR it says that I have 4027 sectors free. I forget how many sectors or in a byte, or how many bytes per KB (I've not been using my Atari for years), but that seems rather small doesn't it? Also this does now work with my SDrive NUXX on the Real Atari. Thankx Charlie! Now assuming 4027 sectors does reflect the 16MB size of my Hard Drive image. What file then do I need from BEWE DOS to set as the BOOT file in order to make the drive bootable? I'm looking through the docs, but have not run across it yet. EDIT: I ran FMTDIR on the Real Atari and now I have a 65534 Sector drive!!!

Bob Puff... ...I remember that name from back in the day... Or at least I think I do, that sounds REALLY familiar. Anyhow, I'll tinker with this new software, but first I must step out for some cheese sticks! EDIT: And sorry Charlie, didn't realize that before you stated that the HD format software also worked with images. That's why I skipped the advice all together.

So that's you hugh? If anyone else has pages up that I don't have listed, feel free to send me the links. Even though few Atari users goto the page, I'd still like to have them for my own person reference.
-
By SDrive Nuxx I meant I'm back on the real Atari, not the emu. I have zero issues with the emu now.
-
Everything worked well on the Emulator. On my SDrive NUXX, it won't boot. And if I boot off SpartDOS X 4.42, it won't read the drive, but gives me a NAK error.

Thankx, yes I do intend to clean it up a bit and increase the font size on the categories, but some things I can't alter without paying Microsoft more money. It was a free domain and page. I couldn't argue.

I've been adding to the Atari section on my page lately. I'll eventually have personal material up there in relation to my Atari(s) and what I've been doing with it, but in the mean time I have been trying to put every important Atari 8-Bit related link I can find on the page. If there are any I need to know about, please let me know. Also sorry about the mess, it's not yet organized and the links aren't well categorized. http://starwarslegacy.net/Atari.aspx

Yes yes, I'm a HUGE Castle Crisis junkie, in fact it is quite safe for me to say that it is my all time favorite Atari game, no lie, but... ...I'd really like to have a crack at the alternative port of Warlords which seems to operate a bit differently than Castle Crisis, the Arcade version, and the 2600 port in that the bricks take more than one hit to totally break away. It's a subtle difference, but I'd still like to be able to play it, though once again I don't think this will be doable until I order my PAL Atari.
-
Ya, it was a patching problem with the emulator. I don't have a HD drive for my real Atari yet. I was thinking the SDrive NUXX could work as such, but I guess not. No big deal though really. I just wanted to get some of those docs onto the PC so I could update them with pics and what not in PDF format. All I need now is to know how to format a 16MB ATR image.
-
I know, from what I hear this software was really good! I'm amazed that no one has dumped a working copy yet!

I'm looking, but can't find it in my collection or on the web. Though I did find a lot of interesting info about it on the web!

Captain Beeble! YES!!!! I remember that one! Hell yes, I totally forgot it's name and have been wanting to play it again so badly! Aghh, and Sun Star too! Another great classic! The best Tron Cycle game I've ever played!

EDIT: H Patch was not set under emulation. HD1: now works. I made a 16MB ATR HD image in APE, but when I load it as DF2 it also says it has 000sectors. So how do I format that under emulation or on my Atari? I'm already presuming I need SpartaDOS and not BEWE DOS for this task. .
-
I'll experiment some more after work. So how do I make a 16MB Parition or image in SpartaDOS?
-
Hmmm, and run this one through the emulator, 1st in PAL mode, then NTSC mode...

What's the latest Atari related thing(s) you've bought on ebay?
Syfo-Dyas replied to Ross PK's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Oh, and I just noticed that the antenna is actually screwed into an RF adapter. So what we have is a portable screen that you can hook both the 8-bit and the 2600 into at the same time, and just switch between them through the TV/AV button on the side!!! -
When I play Warlords via my SDrive NUXX or Flash Cart I always hear static in the background. Is anyone else experiencing this? http://atari.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=3412

Black Magic Composer and Theta Music Locking Up
Syfo-Dyas replied to Syfo-Dyas's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Well as fate would have it, I have found the author of Theta Music Composer's web site, and he has the sources and docs for TMC posted there. http://jaskier.atari8.info/# EDIT: I re-downloaded version 2 from Jaskier's site and it now works with no flaws that I can find! Now I just need to do a stereo mod to my Atari! This is awesome!!! Video of classic TMC version 1.11 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUGZmQm02iU -
BTW how do i acess H1: in the emulator, BEWE DOS gives me an Error 130.

Accuball Button Repair and Ball Tweaking.
Syfo-Dyas replied to Syfo-Dyas's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Yes, I mourn the sacrifice that poor calculator had to make so that my Track Ball could live. So what are these kits called, and where do you order them? I'm good to go, but others may need to do something like this themselves. -
Why do some programs only work in an emulator?
Syfo-Dyas replied to Syfo-Dyas's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Heh, well most of the programs I was having issues with I'm realizing don't work right because I have a NTSC Atari, for which reason I am selling my NTSC Atari and trading it in for a PAL unit and may well order two more PAL units on top of that for modding experiments. If I run back across something that does not work on the emulator under PAL, nor on my real NTSC 130XE, then I'll post them! -
Thankx for all the DOC reading info guys. And yes I'm interested in the Hard Drive Support aspect of BEWE DOS my self, that or the ability to make 16MB Floppy ATR files for use with my SDrive NUXX
