Dead 130XE: Two down, three to go
Syfo-Dyas replied to flashjazzcat's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
This makes me not want to try to upgrade my Atari's myself. :/ -
Return it is! I went to http://atariarea.krap.pl/ and asked around in the forums (man I need to learn Polish), and they linked me to this ATR file which boots into BEWE-DOS, and has Fun Music Composer and a DOC file for it in the directory listing!!! Now I forget... ...what Atari program do I use to load up DOC files... It's been over 12 years since I've done that. EDIT: Forgot to post the link to the ATR file: http://ftp.pigwa.net/stuff/collections/holmes%20cd/Holmes%201/ATR%20Programs/Applications%20A-Z/Fun%20Music.atr That FTP is PACKED BTW, goto ROOT and check it out!

I'm sure various effects knobs can be added to the 8-bit. I'm trying to encourage the guy who did my C64 to play with the Atari. He's interested, but I might just have to mail him an Atari that he can keep in order to have any success.

Very amusing! Ya, I'd be curious to see what you churn out! Fonts look very nice btw!

I know this post is old, but it appears that these dudes are using Black Magic Composer to do their work on the Atari.

Black Magic Composer and Theta Music Locking Up
Syfo-Dyas replied to Syfo-Dyas's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I've got enough need of a PAL system to validate the purchase. Would prolly be easier than hunting these guys down anyhow. -
Black Magic Composer and Theta Music Locking Up
Syfo-Dyas replied to Syfo-Dyas's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Can't edit for some reason, anyhow I tested this under the Emulator and if I set the Video Type to PAL, I do not have this issue. Looks like I just need to order a PAL 800XL from B&C and upgrade the memory. -
I have been talking to user Alphasys on Youtube, and they told me they had the original Black Magic Composer manual and that they would translate it for me and put it into PDF format. Well here we are a few months later and it is complete! I hope you guys get some good use out of this. Thankx again to Arianne aka AlphaSys for the hard work! Manual Available on the Atari section of my messy web page here: http://starwarslegacy.net/Atari.aspx P.S. if you can think of any links I should add to the page, please let me know!

Both of these programs are giving me issues. I can boot them by holding down OPTION and everything loads fine, but when I select DIR or DIRECTORY, which I presume gives you a listing of the files on your disk, the Atari seems to lock up, and both programs are doing this. I am running both via SDrive NUXX, and have tried them from my AtariMax Flash Cart as well as APE with the same results. Running on an Atari 130XE standard NTSC.

I feel bad for taking this off topic, but how did you get it to start playing?

I must be blind. Thankx a lot!!!

Accuball Button Repair and Ball Tweaking.
Syfo-Dyas replied to Syfo-Dyas's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
My theory was correct. I took apart a $1.00 calculator from Big Lots, and cut out one of the black rubber things that activate the numbers. I cut it in half with my Exacto Knife, and super clued it on to the bottom of the Accuball's button. Everything works perfectly now! -
OK, I got the DOS, but the link rdea6 posted for Fun Music Composer takes you to the same link I posted. As fate would have it, there does not seem to be a download for it anywhere. Sorry to get off subject, but it looks awesome!
-
Wrong Thread. I think. No, I want to download this DOS but I'm not seeing it on the WIKI page. Also the author seems to have written a music app, but I can't find a place to download that either. :/

I'm not seeing the link to download the ATR images. Also, where do I get this?! Fun Music Composer

What's the latest Atari related thing(s) you've bought on ebay?
Syfo-Dyas replied to Ross PK's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Regardless of what this page says, Kohl's still has these 7" LCD Tv's in stock! http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/electronicsgames/tvsdvdplayers/PRD~515914/Digital+Labs+Portable+TV.jsp?prtID=pfx&src=k3787&cm_mmc=Performics-_-Affiliate-_-*FatWallet.Com*-_-468x60%20Expect%20Great%20Things Mind you, this is not ebay, but it is recently bought (today) and I bought it for use with my Atari. -
Thorsten: So are you saying I can or can not use a USA power pack on a PAL machine?

Why do some programs only work in an emulator?
Syfo-Dyas replied to Syfo-Dyas's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Shall I upload the problem files I'm working with? There is only a handful. -
Thank you!

What are some of the most impressive demos you can think of for the 8-bit. Also does anyone have a copy of FujiBoink!?

Potential VBXE enhanced game wish list
Syfo-Dyas replied to Heaven/TQA's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
A GUI based interface to work in conjunction with SpartDOSX. -
Aspeqt + Qt 4.5.1 works fine on Linux, if that's any help to anyone doing a Haiku port... Sadly, I am not aware of anyone besides my self who uses both Atari 8-bit and Haiku, and sadly my strength is not in coding. But yes Haiku does in fact have a port of Qt. http://dev.osdrawer.net/projects/qt-beos

Where do I find a PAL ANTIC? Off a PAL Atari, or can I buy the chips somewhere? -
