  1. Donated of course, and... ...it's going to happen! The needed funds were raised!
  2. Suburban Revolutionaries: Leading the war against nouns through Facebook Petitions and Magnetic Ribbons.

  3. So if I need to reprogram this thing, how do I go about doing that considering that I can't even boot up my Atari and see a screen at the moment. Also is there a web page with clear information and instructions for this, or must I wade through pages of techno babble in order to hopefully decypher the way?
  4. I absolutely LOVE mine, though I still need to get around to assembling the second unit. My advise to everyone is to pick up at least one of these, you won't regret it!
  5. then your golden :') just need to change the VGA connector, or make a VGA-1084 cable... sloopy. Where can I get the plans for the adaptor cable? I believe someone linked me once before, but I forget.
  6. Looks like I need to do some searching about the web to find out how to flash this thing. Why yes, I do have a 1084s....
  7. I've not got my 130XE back from Metal yet. Have not spoke to him in a while. Anyhow, this post is not a complaint, and I hope you are not taking it as such. I just want some advice on getting this to work. I noticed that you said you tested it on an old Apple Monitor? How would I go about that? I think at this point my only option is VGA unless I want to change the output plug right? Thankx for the advise.
  8. Have any of you ever heard of or played Moon Crystal for the Nintendo Famicom? An english translation patch has been made available for it, and I must say, it is the most amazing title I've played on the old 8-bit Nintendo in a long time!!! It's like a swashbuckling platformer crossed with elements of Prince of Persia and Flash Back.
  9. I recently had Sloopy put a VBXE in one of my 600's. He tested it on his VGA and all was well, but NONE of my VGA monitors, both old and new, will work with it. Anyone got any suggestions in regards to monitors that will work. Preferably Flat Screen and NO, I do not want to use an Atari ST monitor. Thank you!
  10. Hey, thankx for the updates. I always thought this game was great!
  11. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 220776318959 I've been using this with my Amiga 600, but really don't feel a need to have it around any more so I am going to part with it all. Here's what is included: 1: Synthcart Cartridge: The Synthcart is an Atari 2600 cartridge that turns your 2600 into a pop music sensation, letting you play music using a pair of Atari's keyboard controllers and can also be controller with the 2600 MIDI controller. http://www.qotile.net/synth.html 2: Atari MIDI Controller: http://highlyliquid.com/kits/midi2600/ 3: Two Kid's Controller Atari Numeric Key Pads. 4: Atari 9v Power Pack. 5: 2 Atari Joystick Extension Cables: For use with MIDI Controller. 6: Instruction Manuals. 7: Video Output adaptor which allows you to bypass the use of a channel selection box. (Note:Video output is really not required to use this, but is an option.) For more information, please have a look at these videos: Thankx for looking!
  12. Looking good. Amazingly responsive thus far.
  13. Let's hope Atari does not shove a micro PC in an Atari casing.
  14. I remember back in the day, there was a university that linked a bunch of 800XL's together and were using them as multi-cpu computer running on some sort of unix variant...
  15. You know, George Bush's New World Order Speech still pisses me off. To be honest, I prefer the law of the jungle, at least I'd still have my dignity.

  17. THGill: I'm so happy things worked out in the end! Mission Accomplished, as said above,"welcome to the dark side!!!" NTSC is crap! I'm sure you already know about this link, but just in case you don't, check out all the PAL goodies here: http://atarionline.pl/v01/index.php?ct=katalog&sub=%23 A GIANT world has just been opened to you!
  18. It's been a while since it has been in a system, though in the mean time it has been sitting nice and safe in storage. If worse come to worse though and you get fed up, again please mail it back. I'll test it, then if you don't want it, I'll use it my self. Sorry you are having so many issues. This is just weird. Oh, btw, someone asked how I could stand the flashing screen... What flashing screen. This isn't like using an Amiga in interlaced hode without a flicker fixer or something. Nah, thats ok. I have another machine here I am going to test it in when I have a chance. But you did test it and it was working just fine before you sent it out? Cause thats bummer if its not the chip...lol. With that said, anyone else have a good, working PAL Antic chip for an XL they would like to sell me cheap? Just so I can eliminate a bad antic chip from the equation.
  19. If you want to mail it back to me I'll happily test it again, though I doubt it got damaged during shipping as I wrapped it up in bubble wrap, but ya never know. I know you didn't pay for anything, but I still feel bad. I put mine in a 800Xl and can display color just fine on my 1084S as I was stating before. Likewise my PAL Amigas work in color too with that monitor, so I guess for once, I ended up being lucky all around. PAL antic in a ntsc machine and you got color output? Damn...this has got to be a bad Antic chip. I think I am gonna put in a order with either Best or B&C and get another one. Hopefully this one was just fubar cause I find it damn hard to believe that my multisystem JVC won't show color if its there. According to the on screen display and what the manual says, when it says BW on the screen, thats what its being input. By the way, just did the Quick and Easy video upgrade on my 800XL and I am over the moon with the quality of the video output now via s-video. I haven't hooked my 800xl up to any of the LCDs yet, but on my JVC it is super crisp and clean.
  20. The side of a house... I wonder if these bulbs are expensive?
